THANK YOU!! I have watched so many videos, asked a photography group and googled for this answer. You made it so easy to follow from start to finish. You did what so many people could help me with! You're the best!
Hey Shannon, Mike here from the video. Wow, thanks so much for the kind words. I'm really glad this was helpful to you! Any other tutorials you'd like us to put together for similar topics?
Thanks so much Justin, we appreciate you! Looking for any other Nikon D850 or camera tutorials? We're working on some new videos, but always looking for ideas or questions to answer :)
Hey i'm using nikon d800. I can't see live view in the lightroom and i wondering if anybody have the same problem like me? and wondering if there's any solution....
@@Filtergrade yeah the problem is my camera does not come with that port. It only comes with a micro usb and a small HDMI, will any of those ports work?
@@osnarv8597 Yes, I think they will actually! Just found this product from Tether Tools: tethertools.com/product/tetherpro-usb-2-0-a-male-to-micro-b-5-pin/
Personally I always like to shoot RAW files, because it gives you much more flexibility when editing. Especially helpful for recovering and adjusting highlights/shadows.
I have been tethering into Aperture on my laptop for location work. In LR it seems impossible to save files to 2 drives (main drive and an external drive) while shooting. If you've found a solution to this issue, I'd love to hear about it.
Hey Mike, thanks for the comment! We are going to be working with this again soon and I will see if I can figure out a solution! That's a really good question, as I'd like to do the same for some future shoots. I will keep you posted.
It doesn't appear to work for the D750, the closest model they list is the Nikon D780. You can see more info here: downloadcenter.nikonimglib.com/en/download/sw/250.html
In 2024 and with a Nikon Z6II, your demonstration still works like a charm. Thanks for posting this video.
Ah thanks so much Tom, so glad this was helpful to you. We greatly appreciate you taking the time to leave such a nice comment.

Finally a video that explains what you’re using and how to do it thank you so much
Thanks Artemus!
Yooo. This was the simple and understanding instructions on this I've heard so far. Thanks man. 👍🏾
Cheers Freddie, so glad we could help!
Great video! very informative!

Thank you. Just what I was looking for.
Cheers!!
Is it possible to release the shutter from Lightroom? or how can one go about it without having to press the actual shutter on the camera? cheers
Yes, you can click to fire the shutter using the UI in Lightroom when the tether cord is plugged in.
DANKE ! DANKE ! DANKE !
Bitte sehr
I cant use live view on camera while tethered to capture one. Does that work for you?
Thanks for this video, it is very helpful.
Thanks so much Ryan!
Hey i'm using nikon d800. I can't see live view in the lightroom and i wondering if anybody have the same problem like me? and wondering if there's any solution....
Me too 😢
I'm Lightroom CC and there is no Connect to Tether in File menu... or anywhere I can find.
I'm not positive, but it appears that tethering is only supported in Lightroom Classic CC
can you shoot video / livestream this way, or how do you record video live from a d850? thank you!!!
I think just photos. They may have updated it since this video was made, but at the time I don't remember seeing a video or livestream option.
Great video, thank you so much!
Glad this was helpful Neil, thanks for the comment! :)
Can I tether MacBook Pro (with macOS Ventura software) with NikonD850, even though Nikon tether software says for D6 and D780 only?
Yeah it works with the D850, should be fine on the Mac with Lightroom or another program that supports tethering.
Nikon doesn't allow saving to card and PC.
Is there any way around it
Unfortunately I am not sure of any work arounds, typically will just save to my computer directly when I'm tethered to save a step.
🔥🔥
Cheers!
Thanks for that.
Cheers Owen
how to save files both in memory and laptop while tether?
May I ask, do you believe this can also work on my Nikon d3500?
Hey there, I believe it will be a very similar process yes. As long as it has the same spots to insert the cords, it should work.

hey just wondering, are you shoot in RAW file or just JPEG file? and which one is better for studio photoshoot?
Personally I always like to shoot RAW files, because it gives you much more flexibility when editing. Especially helpful for recovering and adjusting highlights/shadows.
@@Filtergrade i see. thank you so much for your reply and opinion. really appreciate it.
@@muhdfakhrifakhrurazzizulka8285 Of course, wishing you the best of luck with your photoshoot!
Does it work for video too?
Nah for video it's better to get a monitor and transmit the signal if you want to be connected to another device for people to view.
Which Lightroom does that work with?
Not sure of the earliest version it works with, but we are using Lightroom Classic in this video. You can also tether with Capture One software.

Does NX Theter support on Nikon D750

seems simple - my Lightroom classic (fully updated) didnt have a clue where my D850 is even when they were side by side.
Actually no I didn’t get what USB adapter you are talking about. Computer comes with a USB, can you clear that up?
I think this was on a mac, so if you need the usb to usb-c adapter, that's what I was referring to.
