Very pleasant to watch, you provide something unique among youtubers & photographers. Your content is both soothing and educational. You made me want to try street photography more than ever. And as a coïcidence, I just bought the Sony A7Cii + Sony 40mm f2.5 G lens, I wanted to switch from heavy Nikon gear after 10 years of using it. I'll follow your channel with great interest :)
I love watching your videos - so interesting to see how you compose your shots, but also, it's very pleasant to discover all these places with you and get to see your amazing shots in such a peaceful way
40mm is my favorite focal length. I have a couple of 40s, the Konica and a Voigtlander (and a Schneider Kreuznach 38) but this lens looks good and the price is amazing, so it's on my list. I like your photos, your framing and sensitivity to the light.
Looks like a really nice place; I should add it to my list! I noticed you got a new sling. I would love to see an updated video of your setup and how you use each piece of gear to create your videos. Like a behind the scenes kind of thing. As always though, a fantastic video. One of the best this one.
nice explanations. if I were you, i can try different angles for example, just above the road.. or trying to some b&w photography or some underexposure especially in harsh light
Gorgeous images as always Adrien. This video comes a week after I purchased my first 40mm lens. I bought the Sony compact prime 40mm F2.5 G. My bigger GM 50 F1.2 is starting to bugger my shoulder after years of carrying, so I need to find ways to lighten the load. I have not yet had much time yet to shoot with the new 40mm, but your video here is very inspiring indeed. Thanks! Where did you capture the beautiful shots of the Seto Inland Sea from a high elevation? I'm visiting Japan this December and am looking for things to see and do other than Tokyo and Kyoto. The area along the inland sea has always looked so appealing. Thanks!
Hey Adrien, awesome shots! If you were to start photography from the beginning, which combination would you choose? Fuji X-T5 with 16-50 + 23mm f2 or Sony 7C || with 28-60 + 35mm 2.8? The prices in Germany (without prime lens) are 2400€ fur the Fuji vs 2000€ for the Sony. I'm so unsure... On the one hand you get full frame for less money, on the other hand you get no awesome Fujifilm filmsiulations. But should that be the only reason?! With your presets you get the look. Purpose would be travel and street photography. A few years ago I was able to gain my first experience with a Canon 700d (and Lightroom). Thx! ☺
I already have the Sony FE 35mm 1.8, its not heavy or large by any means.. but I have been tempting to get this Viltrox 40 2.5 as well. Do you think I should go for it ? or the difference with 35mm 1.8 is too subtle.
Lovely photos, beautiful place. Clean and balanced. It's nice there are some places in the world still that feel like this. P.S. Do you find the EVF on your camera pleasant to use? I'm in a search for compact full frame after switching from x100v. Can't really try this camera anywhere in my city.
Totally loving this video! My go-to gear is my Sony a6000 and my Sigma 30mm f/1.4 (equivalent to 45mm full frame.) The irony, Sir, in documenting lenses and street photography, you are one of the people are developing the RUclips POV Street Photography video as an artform unto itself. The collation and sequencing of street scenes, I would say, is not unlike putting together a photo book. And the choice of music is another layer that puts the mood and vibe into the video. And your French accent is lovely! Reminds me of my cousins in France. I encourage you to visit South East Asia where you can find more places like this. There have been many street scenes that been ruined by ugly lamp posts. Since my Sony a6000 has no OSS stabilization, I mostly use poles to brace my camera against. It’s sweet, since these poles allow you a 360 degree view while you brace your camera against it. But I love your composition solution for these poles. I never realised that small streaks of light can distract the viewer! But then, I mostly shoot at night. I suspect that small hut at the top of the hill could be a toilet. I noticed the signage at the foot of the hill that said 便-something. But I could be wrong. This is the first time I have heard of the camera as being a point in the compositional triangle. I love it!
i love your compositions. have you got any trips planned soon? Japan is great, but i would love to see some other vibes, maybe Korea or Hong Kong or Taiwan which are very close.
I like the way you explain your thought process. Would love for you to try these types of videos without the music. This would accompany your calm voice. Your videos could be so calm after a long day of stress.

I bought this lens last week. It's cheap and nice. I'm always enjoying it in Korea.
Good choice!
Getting to know the why and how for all of your pictures is super helpful..

Thanks :) The EVF does the job but it is not great. The quality is good enough but the colors through the EVF are a bit funky
Can you please make the frame black or transparent? White is too bright
hi do any zines heavily feature 40mm photos?
