- Big rock candy mountain!! I'm still amazed that we're at 4k subscribers; you guys are the best! I'm having so much fun making these videos, and I look forward to making and sharing more music with ya'll!

In the fifties, when I was a little sprig of a boy, my father would sing The Big Rock Candy Mountain to me and my brothers. I love the song, and can hear my father singing along with you. Thank you precious girl.
Doug, My father, a child of the Depression, sang it to my brother and I as well.

My father grew up in Peru, Indiana. He and my Grandmother often used to walk down to the Wabash River, to the hobo camp to bring them soup and potatoes. As an old man he used to paint the camp, and men cooking over camp fires, and the train cars, and his little brindle bulldog.

You did itt again Phoebe. I'm smiling and enjoying one of my old time favorites. Back in the early 50's, my sister got a record player and a few records, and one of the songs was Big rock candy Mountain sang by Burl Ives. Thanks for reviving old memories from many decades ago.

@@hectoralvarado9359 I am 47 and play the guitar, bass and a bit of keyboard and drums. I recently started building cigar box guitars, so I had to adjust to open G tuning as well. But a Banjo could surely fit in my line of instruments. 🤭
