    Great video. Sold me on the system. And a really nice, complete, and tight presentation.

    What size is the locking DC port? 2.1 or 2.5 mil? if not, can you recommend locking dc to dtap?

    • @TroyMairs
      @TroyMairs  9 дней назад

      I believe it is a 2.5 mil. That said, it is not a locking DC Port (unless you get the enhanced model). So I have been using an Atomos NPF to DC locking adapter to power my monitor. Thanks for checking out the vid!

    I bought the m1 and immediately took it back.. two of them fried and the inputs didn’t work on any of my 3 cameras then I tried my buddy’s cam. I took it back for a shinobi 7 inch and couldn’t be happier. Hollyland has janky documentation and it was such a frustrating experience.

      Ahh, that does sound frustrating! I'd probably lose faith as well if I had a similar experience. (Mine really has been great thus far). I've considered a 7" monitor, but thought it might feel too large in comparison. You must not feel that way?

    Great video. I've really been wanting to pick up the Mars M1 for my C70 as well, but I'm put off of all the reports of terrible input latency on the monitor. What has your experience been like with that?

    • @TroyMairs
      @TroyMairs  Год назад

      Thanks JP, I appreciate the support!
      “Terrible” input latency isn’t something I’ve experienced using these monitors. I actually hadn’t noticed a perceptible latency while using it on set, it wasn’t until I did some specific latency testing that I found about 3-4 frame delay from the c70 monitor the M1 monitor. (There is a chapter in my dedicated M1 review video that shows that test if you wanted to see it in action)
      Hollyland was surprised to learn of a 4 frame delay and had asked me about it, their testing showed a 2 frame delay.
      So that’s my experience with it! It seems there is a small delay, but it hasn’t been enough for me to notice or that I feel causes a big enough concern for production workflow. Hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions!

    Good stuff. I know I've asked before but do you have issues with the M1 dropping the image for a second or two ever?

    • @TroyMairs
      @TroyMairs  Год назад

      Hey Scottie! Hope all is well!
      I can’t say that I have run into that myself, it’s been pretty well plug and play for me which is why I like them as much as I do.
      My biggest gripe is that the DC In port on the monitor isn’t a locking type connector. It’s actually a pretty loose fit and I’ve had power get disconnected on accident when I tried to run DC. As a result I switched to using the NPf battery and I actually might prefer that power solution anyhow from a rigging perspective. The obvious annoyance then is having to bring/charge another battery

    Please normalize your audio. Your video is at -24db. Should peak at at least -6db
