Love what you have done here, l didn’t want to do the “flashy stripes” finish. Working on the weapons now, maybe a centreline gun pod, small bombs and sidewinder wing tips as you have done. It won’t be half as good as yours, but thank you for the inspiration, great work.
@@AirForceBuilder I recently finished a “what if” Concorde in 144 scale. It was a “What if” the RAF had taken it on and used it in in a high speed reconnaissance role, not dissimilar to a US Navy Vigilante. Added a few small sensors and a recon pod underneath and painted in a medium grey. I know, it’s a big “what if” but it kind of works, it’s sat next to my traditional looking Concorde. Once again thanks for posting your awesome “What if” X29,I will be subbing to you👍
Another great build AFB! I remember having this kit back in the eighties but never did I imagine how cool it would look as an in-service"what if"! That and the F-20 would have been a sight to see in the inventory. Maybe we will get a 1/48 kit from Freedom like they did with the Tigershark?!
I believe that rear section was the speed brake, instead of moving up and down like you have it, it actually was two halves that opened up, much like on the F-16.
Or, you can take a look at an actual picture of the X-29 in flight - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grumman_X-29#/media/File:X-29_at_High_Angle_of_Attack_with_Smoke_Generators.jpg
@@AirForceBuilder I stand corrected. Possibly doubled as the speed brake? Either way, cool build, I plan on doing a similar one but am going to try to combine the F-20 and X-29 kits into the ultimate F-5 derivative haha.
awesome build man

I bet it will turn out great! Anything original and one of a kind will always be awesome!

Hasegawa weapon sets and a 1/72 F-16C
What you do is more like art work and not just a model. You could make lots of cash doing these for others.
