You can tell from the effort they put into the music the developers KNEW people would be looking back at the console a decade later, and indeed we are. The music captures the emotional moment perfectly, just like the Wii and (admittedly to a lesser extent) the DSi & Wii U. Unfortunately I think people will find in the 2030s the Switch will miss that emotional moment.

back when covid 19 wasn't a thing, my family had a tradition of going to Ipswich to visit my grandparents. every year. the coach ride there felt so long, but with my 3ds in hand I had something to keep me busy. I remember back at the coach break area I used to try to connect to the 3ds and then play it when we got back on the coach. the whole ride to the coach every year my 3ds would be sat there, waiting for me to boot it up. this theme in particular is what I always hear in August. now with covid I cannot do these things anymore, aswell as having an almost 2 year old baby sister at the moment. the 3ds had such an enjoyable ost that I found myself falling asleep on the way there. not just that but my whole family fell asleep too, and i woke up to find we were almost there. thank you, nintendo, for the lovely memories I will never forget.

yeah my old original turquoise 3ds still working nice, sadly the battery is completely dead and i need to play with the charger everytime (also the charger connection is a little bit worn out, but still charging if u don't move it so much), ive some games and im re-playing them such acnl, dream team bros, oot 3d, layton, etc, and honestly the nostalgia hits hard lmao, but is very fun. and yea, obviously it doesn't make the same feeling as it maded years ago but you still enjoying it also recently i got a switch lite with some games too like acnh, botw, mario 3d world, mario odyssey and others and it's very fun too

If you had New Super Mario Bros. and siblings/friends near you, you could spend 5+ hours playing nonstop on local co-op. Getting closer to nighttime, you could make a Mii, maybe play a single player game before you go to bed, or you can hide your DS under your pillow if you wanted to play a little bit longer. Replace New Super Mario Bros. with Mario Kart 7, LoZ: Triforce heroes, etc. and you were bound to have a good childhood.

I will say the 3ds just had this charm that the switch just doesn’t have, the 3ds was such a complete little handheld with so much personality
Yeah the switch is fine but it lacks so much charm. It just feels kind of empty. No setting music, no mii music, nor shop music, it just kind of boring.

When I was younger, I used to think that you had to connect three times to one router to get it to work, so my settings were all saved to my own WiFi :)
