Character wise, Ministry. That gimmick perfectly summed up what you'd expect a gimmick like Undertaker's to be and he was at his creepiest. In-ring wise, 2005-early 2010. The bangers he had with guys like Orton, Angle, Michaels, Edge, Batista, etc, during that time were off the charts

i liked the 97-98 Lord of Darkness the most because it was like a blending of his Deadman in purple/black with the Ministry of Darkness. In a sense, it was Babyface Lord of Darkness that they even made into a comic book.

The original Deadman version from the early 90s remains not just the best version of the Undertaker but also the best prowrestling gimmick of all time. He was also in his physical prime at this point of time and looked intimidating as hell .

Wrong... The original Deadman was a great kickoff, but had to evolve in order to reach his prime. The Lord of Darkness from 1997, Ministry from 1999 and his legend version from 2004-2008 were so much more advanced than the original Deadman.

The very first 6months or so of his career before getting together with paul bearer was a devastating version of the undertaker. Still super athletic an mega strong it was like his opponents were literally going up against this mad being etched of stone. Although it was a very basic version of the character yet, he was booked an shown in such a way that no mater who was unfortunate enough to be stood across the ring from him, no mater how big or small, strong or skilled, they were walking into the valley of no hope an were going to be crushed. Taker was still able to do standing drop kicks an leap frogs over huge guys, an was able to jump right upto the top rope, an walk the ropes without using someones arm to balance. He still used to do the rope walk an go into a huge elbow drop. A very underlooked part of the undertaker, but it was the part that initially captured the minds an attention of people an made them know that this guy was going to be something to watch.

So many great versions of Taker but my favorite is Big Evil. He was more like his real self and we still knew he was the Deadman even as a motorcycling badass.
Ministry looked coolest. But the best most skilled Undertaker at top form is around 2007-08.
My favorite Undertaker moment was at Survivor Series 93 in that elimination tag when he was fighting Yokozuna outside the ring and Yoko slammed Taker's head into the steel steps for him to snap his head back with blank eyes and turn to a scared Yoko and slammed his head into the steps 😁 first time we saw an invincible Yokozuna scared. Then the preparation for the casket match at Royal Rumble 94, classic Paul Bearer as well

My favorite version of The Undertaker would be Ministry Of Darkness in January 99 before the Royal Rumble and Judgment Day 2000 - Survivor Series 2003 when The Undertaker was American Bad Ass / Big Evil especially using the Limp Bizkit's theme Rollin which lasted longer than Stone Cold's Disturbed Theme and Hollywood Hogan’s Voodoo Child Theme in WWE. Before going to the Deadman theme in WRESTLEMANIA 20 which was the sign around Royal Rumble 04 after being buried alive in Survivor Series 03.

I love American Badass Taker. That gimmick is underrated imo. His original Undertaker bit got a bit old to me, so it was nice that he tried something new. I even liked that he had a new look after sporting so many dark colors for so long. The jeans, vest, chains, shades, bandanas, and red hair really lightened up his character and gave fans something to connect to, especially the biker community. It really went well with the height of the attitude era because that’s what the gimmick came with: “attitude”. Almost every wrestler had an interesting gimmick with a fascinating personality, the latter being something Old Undertaker had, but the gimmick got old and made Taker feel like he was going through a plateau. The AB gimmick was a breath of fresh air and helped him get through the AE, so by the time he went back to his Deadman gimmick, he was refreshed and ready to give his dark side another go

    2. Lord of Darkness - Great attire, long thick hairs and handsome look (1998)
    3. Prince of Darkness - A very short run with a unique deep black attire, icy look and black teardrop on cheek. (1997)
    4. Ministry of Darkness - Satanic & Dominating (1999)
    5. Big Evil - The Big Bully. Had great matches and amazing promos (2002) but 2003 run was lame.
    6. The Original Deadman - Raw strength, Dark aura, Purple Gloves & Boots , Thick Coat (1994-1996)
    7. The Deadman - Rise from the Dead, modern Taker, ruthless (2004 -2006)
    8. The Phenom - Shredded, ripped physique and unstoppable (2007 - 2008)
    9. American Badass - Cool new gimmick welcoming '00, a powerhouse, beer belly, very few interesting matches until he turned heel.

Mine’s the very first one (from the 80s to 1994 ‘golden’ era) - the ‘mortician’ (light grey gloves and boot spats, and - entrance gear - light grey tie) [the gloves are lengthy ones - extending halfway to elbows; additionally wears a black fedora / sombrero and trench coat, to the ring]. I prefer when he turned face (and, pun unintended, now had his face obscured by his hair, which was thought to make him look more jazzed up, than sporting the mere mullet, when he was originally a heel) [and I like when his theme was ‘Funeral March’]. Needless to say, I like when his signature move was the Tombstone Piledriver.
Tomorrow’s date, next year, is his 60th (though he draws the short straw, in that it falls on a Monday). Off-subject, I don’t know when exactly in the 80s the ‘golden’ WWF era began, but it definitely ended literally at the end of 1994 (1995 was the year of the ‘new generation’ WWF era, which sucked). Getting back to the subject, I prefer the version of the Undertaker up to the 1994 Royal Rumble (as this version was the one in the 1993 Royal Rumble and WrestleMania IX).
