Sorry luke but your dad was wrong about Bruno Fernandes, Sporting was deffenetly atacked by their crue at their academy but bruno on that season renovated for one more year and put a clause that he wanted to be Sporting's captain and wanted to help the clube regain their spirit back and help them in many ways, he then made a fantastic season with lots of goals and assists, rui patricio, william carvalho, podence, iur medeiros they left but bruno didn't, the next season man united bought him... Great save by the way and I'm a Benfica fan 😅, try to bring toulosse or hamburg to their top divisions 💪
Players that left Sporting after that attack on their academy (end of the 17/18 season): Gelson Martins, Rui Patricio, William Carvalho, Daniel Podence, Rafael Leão and Ruben Ribeiro. Bas Dost, Bruno Fernandes and Battaglia also did terminate their contracts with Sporting, but them came back and signed new contracts with some bonuses. Then in the winter transfer window of 19/20 season, Sporting sold Bruno Fernandes to United and Bas Dost to Frankfurt and went to get a new manager - Ruben Amorim - and that's when the "rebuild" started. Amorim brought the likes of Adán, Feddal, Pedro Porro on loan, Matheus Reis, Bruno Tabata, Pedro Gonçalves, Nuno Santos and Paulinho (this season he added Esgaio, Ugarte, Edwards, Vinagre, Slimani and of course the loan of Sarabia) and started to include some young academy players, the likes of Nuno Mendes, Gonçalo Inácio, Eduardo Quaresma (now on loan), Daniel Bragança, Matheus Nunes, Jovane and Tiago Tomás (this last 2 also are out on loan right now). Even João Palhinha wasn´t at Sporting before Amorim, he was out on loan at SC Braga. PS: This season only, some really young academy players made their debuts for Sporting - Dário Essugo (17y), Flavio Nazinho (18y), Rodrigo Ribeiro (16y) and also a former FC Porto youngster, Goncalo Esteves (18y) which is the man with more minutes on this list.
Another great rebuild video Luke. I noted it was a big hit with your fans from Portugal. Its great that you do rebuilds with teams from all different leagues and countries as there are many fans out there from all over the world. From the English championship i would love to see you do a rebuild on Blackburn Rovers or Preston North End being a Lancashire lad these are two very old clubs with a rich history but who are no longer big enough really to challenge in the premier league. Its a great shame because they are 2 great clubs. I take my grandson to watch Blackburn and he loves it. They are a family club and its a great match day experience, Preston too are an old traditional family club and i would love to see either of them in your capable hands in a rebuild. Thanks as always Luke for your hard work and professionalism in giving us some great content to watch.
Chaves! A team in the second division of Portugal that got promoted a couple years back but went straight back down. Before getting promoted they were bought buy a man from the city that had won the lottery and invested in the club. Also it's my hometown, so I can give you all the lore you need!
England: QPR Italy: Brescia (because of Baggio 💙🤍) France: Sochaux Germany: Fortuna Düsseldorf Spain: sporting gijon Love all the rebuild series. Love from Greece. ❤
I second QPR. Ended up with them after taking a team from Vanarama National North up to League 2 play-offs. Got approached by QPR after they'd come out of a Championship relegation battle, made it to the play-offs in every season I was with them, but could never get to the Premier League. I'd enjoy seeing them in a rebuild.
As a Sporting CP I wish this one would turn out true. One little thing just in case you guys make more videos with Portuguese teams. The "ç" in teams like Paços reads as "ss". It's as if it was written "Passos". Once again a great rebuild!!
And you are right Luke, Taça de portugal is like FACup and Allianz cup its like carabao, ususally portuguese peopple call it taça da liga which means league cup
Blackburn Rovers!! We have a young squad and some fantastic youth players coming through. The likes of Pike, Burns, Nolan, Garratt, Cirino and McBride that are pushing for the first team. Then you have Phillips, Batty, Haddow, Leonard and Adam Wharton. Phillips is attracting alot of interest in the big teams in league. On top of all that we were the second team to win the prem when it was rebranded. We were one of 5 teams to win the league till Leicesters miracle and then Liverpool. We have had a good season so far just dropped off recently but I think we have the quality for you to get us up at the first time of asking easy.
Blackburn Rovers to bring them back to the Premier League and win the top flight of English football. Sochaux have a fantastic youth system and are former Ligue 1 holders. Bringing them back to their former glory of being the best French team would be the goal there. Malaga was a former Champions League side and has struggled in the last 3 seasons to get back to La Liga in the previous three seasons. Vicenza was once upon a time runners-up in Serie A and have won a Coppa Italia in the past. They are in their own minor rebuild as they have just finished their first season back in Serie B. Hamburg in the 2. Bundesliga is one of many clubs in the German 2nd tier. The difference is that they were former Champions League winners in 1983, and getting them back to that past glory would be the goal there.
Love the rebuilds, Luke and Omega Dad! Noticed a couple MLS guys in this one and I’d love to see you take on an MLS team! The setup of the league lends itself nicely to your 5 season simulation format and is wildly competitive when compared to major European leagues. My team, St. Louis City, don’t join the league until next season, but Austin FC or Charlotte FC are both intriguing newcomers. At the ends of the table, FC Cincinnati, Inter Miami, and CF Montreal are all in need of rebuilds, while Atlanta United, LA Galaxy, and Columbus Crew are all traditionally strong contenders. Dealers choice!
So many new teams joining Nick! Surely only a matter of time before they possibly adopt a pyramid league format? Thanks for watching and hope you enjoyed Nick
Unreal video once again Luke, but Bruno Fernandes was one of the players that actually stayed at Sporting following the attack at the academy and chose to renew with the club inserting a higher release clause that helped Sporting receive their record transfer fee, many left the club in the mud but Bruno stayed and captained us during our toughest times!
I know it’s not top 5 leagues, but Queens Park in Scotland 150 years amateur as it was in their constitution. Changed a couple of years ago, favourite Of mine
As a Sporting CP fan, I think you did well, but the one thing that you missed out was the European Cup, but excellent save, and about tranfers you did very Sporting a like tranfers. I was one of the guys that said you to do on Sporting and I'm very glad that you did and done it well. ✌
I've rebuilt Boavista. 2nd place in Primera Liga and won Taca de Portugal in 2nd season. Karim Konate and Mohamad Rihanieh - remember these names. 2nd round in UEL, lost against Rangers in penalties. In 1st season I was 1 pt behind 3rd place. Tiago Morais!
Saw it in the comments and it is the club I support, please do QPR as there is a fair few senior players that need moving on but a few gems that can do wonders.
Great video! I think a Blackburn rovers rebuild would be good as they used to be a good club so trying to get them a smidge of their former glory back would be a good challenge
I’m a new sub, great content. Are these meant to be realistic rebuilds or taking a young team with a lot of prospects to the next level? I have seen Benfica and sporting as episodes, have you ever or will you ever do a Porto episode?
Great save Luke!! Rain Goals on Portugal !! I think that you probably most give more chance to the academy of sporting. 😂 The are fantastic! G.Esteves Essugo Guilherme 💚💚
I know u asked for 2nd division clubs but what about Palermo in serie C or Deportivo la Coruna. Those clubs need a huge rebuild to get back to where they were a few years ago
Would love a Middlesbrough rebuild with wilder making The Riverside a fortress and with them in the quarter finals of the Fa cup and Chelsea wanting it to be behind close doors. Would be Amazing

Just FYI, I don't think the seedings for European competitions have anything to do with the last league positions. I think it's all about their UEFA coefficient points, so if a team is very succesful in Europe they could then finish 4th and still be a top seed, but if a team comes out of nowhere to win the prem, they'd be a 4th seed.
Would you come to Brazil? 🇧🇷🙏🏻 Some of the biggest clubs are in the Série B, Grêmio just got relegated with Douglas Costa, Cruzeiro are owned by Ronaldo Nazário, and Vasco da Gama would all be great rebuild options! Thanks 🙏🏻
