TO ANYONE AFRAID OF SPEAKING!!! this is a tip i learned from a comment section on tik tok! the person said that if you’re afraid to speak with natives, then to try talking with siri first to get over your fear! hope this helps

I used to 'teach English' to Chinese international PhD students, and honestly, their English was flawless in terms of vocab knowledge and grammar, but because the Chinese education system prefers learning by rote, they had minimal experience actually speaking. Their only barrier was literally just overcoming their fear of mispronunciation. Once they started, you could see the delight on their faces, as if only now were they 'properly' learning English. But in reality, they'd known all along. It's purely a confidence issue x

wow such a cool video, literally one of the things I struggle the most with when learning a new language is the speaking part but bc I tend to get scared when I have to talk with someone , and I feel like some lessons like the ones you took in this video would be so helpful to actually get comfortable with speaking

Oh my goodness! I have the same fear!!! In my head I know what I want to say. When I get ready to speak, fear kicks in and everything comes out in English. I always get nervous and nauseated right before a Spanish lesson on italki. I hope to get over the fear soon 🤦🏾♀️

Una cosa que aprendí estando en países extranjeros es que en el supermercado siempre te preguntan si tenés tarjeta de socio. Y luego si querés una bolsa. Cuando estaba en europa estuve en países donde no entendía nada, como repúplica Checa pero sabía que en el super la primer pregunta siempre era la de la tarjeta y la segunda la de la bolsa

Hey Anna ! Why don't you use bumble bff or any other app to find a tandem in Barcelona? You help them with english or russian and they can help with spanish. I've been doing this for three years now and that way you also get to make friends especially if you're new in town :)
I don’t usually comment but I have done like 4 Italki lessons so far after studying for 2 months and really trying to Focus on my Spanish speaking and I see how u have been conversing so well not to compare but it’s like I don’t feel improvement and I’m not really knowing where to go from there I decided to really crack down on my conjugation and stuff and write more to get more attuned with the grammar but I guess I wanna know is there something that I can incorporate to improve my speak or do I need to hammer down sentence structure to say what I’m tryin to get across I don’t know I just feel I’m starting to become stuck at this intermediate faze
