    I visited kennedy space center in 1989 and the tour and the simulation flight of shuttle was more realistic than the tour I took today December 31, 2021. No more double deck buses . The tour back then was much better.

    Of all of the bus tours that they have at the Kennedy Space Center visitor complex, this is my alltime favorite tour to go on! This is where it all began for the U.S. space program during the late 50's and into the 60's. My late father was stationed here from 1969 to 1971. We actually lived in Satellite Beach, Florida during that time. Since only badged and uniformed personnel are allowed out at The Cape, we had to live in the old Patrick AFB south housing units. So my dad had to commute out to The Cape from there which was like a 30 minute or so drive. The Air Force Space and Missile Museum is the best part for me because they have the best souvenirs that you can buy! Their books and DVDs are awesome! I feel anyone who visits Kennedy Space Center should go on this tour at least once. This is the military side of the space program. Great video!

    I have been on the tour before, and it is an amazing thing to do. Would defiantly recommend this over the free bus tour.

    "And what is truly amazing about this scene is..." EDIT "What you will find most interesting and historical about that building is..." EDIT "...and that is the only reason they got to return to earth safely" CUT... Aww, come on really?

    Thank you so much for sharing this video.
    My Family has lived in Cape Canaveral FL all my life including my Grandmother. She used to send us newspaper clippings every time a rocket went off. I do have a Uncle and Cousin who work at NASA.
    I have never seen this before and really appreciate it.
    Sincerely,
    Stacy from Massachusetts 🚀

    Thank you so much for posting this. I'm going to KSC again in a week, first time I've been since a month after Challenger was lost. Many of these places you can't visit anymore due to degradation and security.

    I went to the Kennedy Space Center in 2006. It was in the morning, first at the entrance section. Us visitors could only stay there until 1 pm. That was when those buses took us to each of the other three sections. But, there was only enough time to see two of them. The third section, with the Space Shuttles, was the main one I wanted to see.

    Great tour to go on - they run only one a day. Unless there is a launch . Then it's scrubbed. Ha ha.. Lots of history, and the future, too.

    Great video :) I want to take the same tour. One question: Does it make sense to take both the free bus tour AND the up-close-tour or does the up-close-tour show you everything? that the free tour shows?

    • @johnhyll8070
      @johnhyll8070 6 лет назад +1

      Donald I would strongly recommend you take this tour and skip the free one since in he free one you just get driven around KSC and don’t even get out of the bus. In this tour they take you so many places, many of which aren’t well known but are incredibly fascinating.

    When was this shot? The published date is Dec 2013 but the last shuttle mission landed in July 2011 and you have a shuttle on the pad in your video. just curious.

    How much is the most less expensive nose cone for sale? I'd like one for my backyard to use for a Guest room. Can those be buried in the growing and used as a tornado shelter, if possible?

      Many private contractors such as spacex, and the United Launch alliance launch rockets from several launch pads at Cape Canaveral and LC-39A at KSC. NASA also has plans to launch its replacement for the space shuttle in the next two years form LC-39B at KSC.
