To all the people asking if they had sex please watch the interview again. It may be hard to believe, but some people aren’t comfortable talking about who they slept with publicly in a crass manor. They had a situation, but she was not his girlfriend. He had a lot of women he dealt with, including her , but their situation was never that deep. To be honest it seems like the situation could have been a HR nightmare due to the power dynamics at play. Plus, the manipulation that was involved was sick.

I think Ashanti doesn’t want to admit she slept with him while he was legally a married man & she doesn’t want it to look like she slept with him to be bigger in her career. I get it! Everyone knew they were an item back then. The whole Murda Inc camp said it. Angie didn’t even believe it. We all make mistakes at a young age & have regrets. But use it as a learning experience instead of denying it all together. I believe Irv was obnoxious in his delivery but it was his truth. It was his story to tell. I do believe he used manipulation as a tactic being upset. That’s just how I see it!

Irv has stated this in his interviews as well. Whether he was telling the truth in the end is up to him but he did clear that up on Ashanti's end. Angie is such an amazing interviewer. I love how laid back she is, and she is not pushy. She chooses her words carefully, and I am sure her cool and calm demeanor makes the artists feel more comfortable when discussing very personal matters. This was truly her calling. Ashanti also did a great job expressing herself in a very real but respectful manner.
Like two friends talking instead of someone with their own agenda with someone else story. She has respect and boundaries and that makes people more comfortable to share with you.
You know your serious about your craft when you interviewing someone at 1am. Angie need flowers on top of flowers. The way Irv talked about ashanti may sound hard and brash. I do believe that Irv could of handle somethings better. However, I believe every word he said about their physical relationship. I know this interview is old but it sounds like he was very infatuated with her and when she started dating Nelly he was not happy. He wanted to control her, money and all. She wouldn't have had nothing if she had went that way.

To all the people asking if they had sex please watch the interview again. It may be hard to believe, but some people aren’t comfortable talking about who they slept with publicly in a crass manor. They had a situation, but she was not his girlfriend. He had a lot of women he dealt with, including her , but their situation was never that deep. To be honest it seems like the situation could have been a HR nightmare due to the power dynamics at play. Plus, the manipulation that was involved was sick.

I think Ashanti doesn’t want to admit she slept with him while he was legally a married man & she doesn’t want it to look like she slept with him to be bigger in her career. I get it! Everyone knew they were an item back then. The whole Murda Inc camp said it. Angie didn’t even believe it. We all make mistakes at a young age & have regrets. But use it as a learning experience instead of denying it all together. I believe Irv was obnoxious in his delivery but it was his truth. It was his story to tell. I do believe he used manipulation as a tactic being upset. That’s just how I see it!

Irv has stated this in his interviews as well. Whether he was telling the truth in the end is up to him but he did clear that up on Ashanti's end. I have always loved Ashanti .Nelly has always been my favorite and to hear he showed her that's not how we talk to each other makes me love him more .I have been in a Narcissistic relationship so her stepping off the music scene for awhile was her healing .Irv did her dirty BUT im glad she's back ❤
People are saying she will never admit she was in love with Irv. But two people can have two different experiences and if they weren’t in a committed relationship for her it was just a situation and for him she was his property. I feel like people can’t fathom that a woman would be able to move like this and a man could be this bitter and upset.

All I heard in This interview was a powerful man more than likely coerced and manipulated his young female employee into a sexual relationship and then punished her for ending the sexual relationship- and then harassed her once she freed herself from him and her feeling unsupported an trapped. He was verbally, emotionally and financially abusive (by trying to stop her success outside of him)I’m surprised no one is mentioning how he copied from the Harvey Weinstein playbook
