It’s interesting how we give parents who leave so much empathy. We make up stories to help us to deal with the truth which in many cases they just walked away. But on the other hand we give the parent who stayed and raised us the roughest time. And I think we do that because we know no matter how bad we treat them they will never walk away
I believe we romanticize abandonment. For the parent who stays, we get to experience them in full capacity. We see them happy, angry, frustrated, tired, ya know what I mean? For the absent one we don't experience them that way and we create the image of them that we need in order to cope with their absence. It's usually a happy one because we need to believe that we would be better suited where the absentee parent is. We should be nice to the parent that stays because we understand how hard it is to raise a child when they're impacted by the abandonment too.

The fact that Kelly, a guest, held space and compassion for Angie, mind blown. It's interesting that as a guest she had to hold space for her when she was there to be interviewed.

Kelly's perception on gentle parenting is so true. She's right it breaks the generation curse of talking at your kids. How she deals with her issues. I love this interview too. I did not know that her mom passed during the time she had her first child and that she reunited with her dad, she hasn't seen since she was a kid. Powerful. wow. I never realized I how much Kelly looks like Aaliyah . Maybe the beauty and grace in the two is what I’m picking up on. Or maybe it’s the unit but she reminded me of her and how she’d be like if she were still here 😢
She doesn't tf
Oh, Angie!! She has such a sweet soul. I’m so sorry that her father turned out to be a total jerk. She deserves to know her father and his family. To top it all off, she never judged that man, and always showed him grace. I pray that God shows him the error of his ways and he comes to her💜🙏🏾💜🙏🏾
Kelly voice is beyond perfection it’s like speaking to yr guardian angel. The only other person I can honestly say this about is Whitney Houston
That melanin Mrs kelly is becoming more stunningly beautiful as she ages as a mother wife and an artist is great to see her growth in her life story
Kelly’s essence reminds me a lot of if we were able to experience Aaliyah today. Elegant and graceful women forsure
This went past interview to two compassionate women taking time to nurture each other in similar experiences. It was special to watch.
i absolutely adore kelly rowland. since the early dc days...forever my favorite
I root for Kelly Rowland in every way. She is such a pure beautiful soul and just beautiful inside and out. 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Kelly is just a breath of fresh air!
My father was the same way. He didn't know how to be a dad. But yet I honored him and gave respect...Even though he wasn't in my life for very long.
Awesome interview, I always say: Kelly Rowland is someone very special and she just proves me right. I love you Kelly Rowland for who you really are.❤❤❤❤
Kelly's perception on gentle parenting is so true. She's right it breaks the generation curse of talking at your kids. How she deals with her issues. I love this interview too. I did not know that her mom passed during the time she had her first child and that she reunited with her dad, she hasn't seen since she was a kid. Powerful. wow. I liked that this became a conversation because they both shared something in common about they finding their fathers later in life.
If Kelly's grandma sang background for Lena Horne, Cab Calloway and other REAL singers in that era, she really had a voice. People back then were authentic in their vocals and range.
