CHEAP OVERNIGHT in Quartzsite? HDT RV Arizona Desert Boondocking. Fulltime RV. RV Life. Adventure RV

- We made it to Quartzsite in time for the Big Tent RV and Travel show 2024. But why do we like Quartzsite? It's dusty, crowded with lots of ATV's running around and generators too. So why do we come here to boondock on BLM land in the LTVA section and why do we like it?
We are not Snow Birds but we do like nice warm weather and heading west is the best. We are going to do this trip a little differently for 2024 and mix in some dry camping with full hook ups so we're starting in the RV winter mecca of Quartzsite, AZ. This is an RV town and we enjoy the atmosphere.
Quartzsite is all about boondocking in the desert and a great place for an RV to winter and we'll tell you why it's great.

RV Camping
We like to "Switch it Up" between resorts and campgrounds and boondocking is always an option.
We draw inspiration from Keep Your Daydream KYD, Less Junk More Journey, Finding Our Someday and Changing Lanes. We normally travel in an HDT similar to RUclips channels Suite Travels and Watts on Wheels. I also get some ideas from the editing style of Happily Ever Hanks (Happilyeverhanks) #thankshanks and believe it or not, I actually learned something from MRBeast Mr Beast video's as well.
Our journey is the destination. We want to share in our experiences in our discovery of What's Next.
I get my music from:

Man and Beast by Edward Karl Hanson
Stompin Grounds by Gary the Canary
The Welcome of the Dawn by Roy Williams

We use the TSD card for diesel fuel and save a bundle each time we fill up our Big Rig. We also use it to fill up our Onan generator.
The big blue boards (XL version) we use sometimes to get us "un-stuck" is from:

Our Class C is built by Thor Motorcoach on a Ford F550 chassis. It's a production build Magnitude model XG32. We tow our red Jeep Wrangler Sahara behind it. We've made some modifications to it so that we can boondock comfortably. Lithium batteries, Victron 3000w multi-plus inverter, dual alternators charge while traveling and mods to the water system greatly enhance it's boondocking capabilities.
Our extreme completely custom 5th wheel is built on a semi-trailer chassis with air suspension and air brakes. Completely loaded it weighs 42,000 lbs rolling down the highway. And we do roll down the highway nearly every week. You see, we believe that if your home has wheels they should be used.
Vehicles:
2016 Volvo VNL780 "Voyager"
2016 Smart fortwo "Pathfinder"
2019 SpaceCraft Custom built semi-trailer 5th wheel "Orion"
2023 Thor Magnitude XG32 Class C "Curiosity"
2017 Jeep Wrangler Sahara "Artemis"
Power system:
3250 watts of solar with Panasonic panels
30.1 KWH of Lithium batteries
2- 4K watt Magnum Inverters deliver power as if we are on shore power
2- 4K watt 240v Cotek Inverters deliver additional power for our LG Mini split HVAC and stove
Coachnet is our roadside assistance company we use but hopefully we don't use them too often. LOL
We are not sponsored by Whataburger but I do enjoy them anytime I can get my hands on one. They used to be just out of Texas but they have expanded.

It is wild how Quartzite has evolved over the years. The first time I was there it was a place for “Rockhounds” to show off their treasures, including buying and trading. The pyramid for the camel driver was prominent. I hope people who visit still learn about Hi Jolly!
Q is amazing how it has evolved but remains tied to boondocking, independence rockhounding. As an RVer, you either love it or hate it. We really enjoy it.
The RV version of Burning Man... 🏜
It is a little bit of that, Steve. Nice analogy. Thank you.
Quartsite reminds me of the times we've boondocked at car racing campgrounds. Thousands of people in 200 acre fields, but in this case, you are normally assigned spots that are quite close to your neighbors. Anything goes any time of the day (or night), you'll see it all if you want to, including clothing (almost) optional. People's imagination runs wild. It's a lot of fun as long as you remain patient, don't mind noise, and don't talk politics! Just keep the lid on your beer cooler locked when your gone! Normally no problems but alcohol can produce interesting results!
OK, James, that does sound like some NASCAR events my friends have attended! It's pretty chill in the Q desert so generally very quiet and peaceful. Thank you for watching.
Wow
Thank you. We love the ability to change our backyard with the seasons and are very fortunate to be able to be comfortable while camping. Appreciate your time watching the channel.
Looks like I missed the announcement for the meet & greet. Now that I see they sell flags there, I will come up as soon as I recover & buy some flags! The "Take Our Border Back Convoy" will be coming to Yuma & I plan on meeting up with it before it gets to Yuma. I believe the convoy will arrive in Yuma on Feb 2nd and hold a rally here on Feb 3rd, so I am looking forward to that. I need to deck my vehicle out "Old Glory" to show my support. I still wish I could have met you two to tell you two in person how much I love, appreciate, look forward to, and admire your videos and adventures.
I hope you all didn't have too much trouble due to all the rain we got. As a native Yuman, I was really shocked that it rained non-stop here for 7 hours! I can't remember when it ever rained that much non-stop. I will tell you, the desert wild flower, lilies, and cactus flowers will be exploding in the desert this spring. Highway 95 below Quartzsite and down to the Yuma Proving Ground turn off with be BEAUTIFUL! I can hardly wait to go get lots of pictures of that. So, just in case you have never seen a desert go from bare to and explosion of flowers and all different colors and would like to see it, you might want to check it out between March & April, unless we get an early really warm spell hit and they bloom early. I love all the wildlife that comes out to sample all the delicacies too.
I hope you all will have continued safe travels and many blessings.
P.S. As a great-grand, I think you have very beautiful grandchildren!!!
Thank you. We were very humbled by the huge turn out. We definitely weren't expecting so many to come by but it was great to see everyone. Sorry you didn't make it but maybe next time.
Hi guys... We're hoping to be in quartzite next year.... Went to the Tampa show and was thoroughly disappointed.. We're looking forward to going back to where you are... Love your drone shots they really show a lot.....😂😂😂... Looking forward to your next video.... You guys stay safe...J&A 2ofus
🤔🤣🤔😂No pictures of THAT kind of wildlife! We enjoy switching each year between Florida and Arizona for the winter. Love the Palm Springs and Death Valley NP area so we always try to get out here. I heard the Tampa show was not great this year, lots of people it seemed. Great hearing from you guys this week. BTW...it wasn't really a "wrong" turn but I did NOT go any further past the sign...didn't care to see any "wildlife". Safe travels and hope you get your rig sold.
@@bigtruckbigtravels thanks..we saw the sign and did what you did...turn around also...was just kidding with with you..after the show ...we have decided to keep our setup...never been to death valley NP area...may need to try that...stat safe
Loved the video. Blythe CA is just twenty miles from Quartzsite and has a very nice Albertsons.
Very nice, Sheila. It also has a Smart and Final too.
I’m sold! When I get rigged up, we’re going to Quartzsite. Probably loaded with atvs! Thanks for the information!
Have fun! Definitely load up on the ATV/SxS's. Lots of room to roll around.
Thank you for showing our rv in your video. we have seen it a couple of times in your video. we are down the road from you guys.
That is awesome! Pretty cool! Glad you saw it!
Congrats on your 100th VLog
Thank you!! Really appreciate the comment. Never thought the channel would go this far!
@@bigtruckbigtravels Why not, very interesting topics, well done vids and you two are so funny especially like David’s jokes lol
My Aunt and Uncle used to go to Quartzite. In your first 3-4 minutes, you gave every reason that we never have and probably never will go. We love camping and traveling, but, no thank you. I hope you have a great time while you are there. Enjoy all those people!!😂😂
😆 Barbara, it seems more crowded than it is but there are a lot of people there for certain. A nice group but usually a line at the sewer dump station! 😆 Thank you for watching the channel. 😁
4:47 hey I see us! center stage with the red jeep renegade! We brought a duck to duck your jeep but didn't see it
Those dumps l8nes can get ridiculous! We counted and when we were at 6:34 the 10th person in line, it took us right at an hour in case anyone's curious. We also did some of that at stuff & had a blast!
Sweet! We left the Jeep in Alabama. Perfect for it out here. Thanks 😄
Enjoyed the recap of Quartzsite. Passed it on to relatives & they said we were famous - 1st time on RUclips - Ha!!
Have a great trip to your next adventure. 0:08
Woohoo! That is awesome! Glad we could be "your first"! 🤔😮🤣😊😎
Love those arial videos! Kitchen booth is my fav! Ya always find something….. lol
Oh, Sondra does love a good kitchen tent! 😆
I’ll take the Alaskan and Canadian solitude any day rather than this mayhem. But thanks for taking us along to see it all! Are there some snowbird places which are peaceful?
It's all getting busy in the winter now but there are lots of areas in Arizona if you enjoy boondocking that are less crowded. We have friends who seek those out and are the only ones around. We're going to try and find one of those places in a few days! Alaska was great. Thank you.😎😊
Thanks for sharing 😊😊😊
Thanks for watching!
One thing is a given. The Mrs is going to have on her coat or jacket. Looks like fun there. Thanks for taking us along. Safe travels.
Oh, you know it, Joe! That parka gets a work out! Thanks for watching the channel. 😁
❤ the pics with subscribers!
Love the metal moose!😎
Thanks, Marty. We were blown away and humbled by the attendance. That was the only wildlife Sondra could find!
Love the video! Thanks for the great info! We loved talking to you at your meet and greet. I think I counted you passing our RV three times. Your drone filmed our Q24 Grand Adventure compound also. I’ll tell Marc to be sure and watch. Me and Jim are looking forward to catching up on all of your past and future videos! ❤
Thank you so much for your hospitality and inviting us over to Q24 that night. I got multiple views of the compound and your rig too! Safe travels. See you down the road.
The making of new friends is whats it’s all about…🇨🇦❤
Definitely a bonus with the travel aspects of this lifestyle. 😍😁
I enjoy watching your adventures!!
Glad you like them! Thanks for watching the channel. 😁
Hi from 🇨🇦 Enjoy.Looks like a fun place .
Hi there! Cold up north! Fun place in the desert. Nice people.
Thank you. I think I would like that place in small doses. Meaning, spend a couple of weeks there and move on 4 me! You have given me some great ideas. 4 the future, enjoy life, and thanks again.
I agree. We enjoy a few weeks then we like to move on to the Yuma area. A visit to Death Valley NP is always on our list too. That is a fantastic area to visit. Glad you enjoyed it.
first time out wow alot different than florida seen you getting water today like this rv show better than tampa it free happy trails
Glad you enjoyed it, Robert. I like "free" for the RV show. Not as many RV's but I think the setting is cooler and more unique vendors.
Lovely video - Quartzsite is indeed a state of mind! Enjoy!
Truly a state of mind and being. A unique vibe that you have to embrace to enjoy this experience. Not for everyone but it is for approximately 600K RVers who travel to Quartzsite each year. Thank you for watching.
I enjoy you both so much! Simply adored Alaska!! But have to tell the truth! As much as I enjoy the two of you. I am just not in any way shape or form a barren desert person.
I’ll keep an eye on things till you return to greener pastures! Enjoy your Winter, till then 💗
Thank you. 😃 The desert landscape is not for everyone. Don't stay away too long. Love having you along on the journey. 😊
@Sushi2735 we will be in lush humid froested trees in about 8 weeks! Hang in there and thanks for watching. 😊
You really captured the feeling of Quartzsite. Thank you! Continue enjoying the experience.
Thank you. It's a unique place for sure.
Grate video
We really appreciate your time watching the channel and are excited to have you along on the journey. Thanks for being a part of the story.
Good job on the video and explaining Quartzite, also I like you showing the other RVer,s or new friends you meet 👍
Glad you enjoyed it, Patrick! We tried to give everyone a "taste" of Q and the desert vibe. Thank you for watching the channel.
Just found u on utube my new favorite show
Wow. Thank you, Douglas. We really appreciate your time watching the channel and thanks for finding us.
@bigtruckbigtravels it's Nancy dougs wife I am the one who sent the message. Been binge watching really enjoyed your Alaska trip. Also now I have to try a whata burger.would also enjoy your cooking in the rv. Have a blessed day Nancy
@douglasshugar4897 thank you, Nancy... sorry for the mistaken identity 😅. Thanks for watching the channel. We've been talking about a "foodie" video.
Wow that looks sooo nice place to be enjoy🎉
Thank you. Great place if you enjoy this type of camping and atmosphere. Not for everyone but we like it!
@bigtruckbigtravels I will like it. We don't have that in South Africa
Unreal! I haven't been there since ...90's...magnet for transition'
Lots of people, Molly. We are always amazed.
I hope to make it to Quartzite some time looks like fun.
Thank you for watching the channel. We're excited to be able to share our experiences with everyone and to give back to the RV community.
I had no idea it was so enormous. Just incredible.
Hey Brendan, it almost looks like part of the interior of Australia! Out towards U'luru (Ayers Rock?). 🤔🤣😊 Thanks for watching and appreciate the comment. Say "hi" to the family.
I used to stay at the flying j in quartzite when I was long, haul trucking. I love watching your episodes and always looking forward to the next one. Happy camping, and stay safe out there.
That is awesome, Anthony! The Love's in Q has chesters chicken and Silly Al's Pizza which is tasty too! Thank you for watching and really appreciate your comments.
Congrats on your 100th vlog!!🎉 Great coverage of Quartzite! Enjoy your time!
Thanks so much!! 😆 Never thought it would get this far! 🤔😉😆
Well, that’s what happens when you do what you love and you do it right!😊Enjoy watching you two! Safe travels!
Wendy
I really like your magnitude and jeep. My husband and I are looking for something we can travel in comfortably and safely. He is totally disabled and we have been searching for over a year for something that can accommodate him. Have you seen anything along your travels that may work for us?we are currently traveling vicariously through your travels. It makes us miss the outdoors so much. I have to get them out of the house. He deserves to enjoy the great outdoors too.
Big Super C's have a flat floor and can tow more but would need to be modified for entry. Nothing immediate comes to mind. It would be nice to get him outside but we're excited to have you along on the journey. 😊
Fantastic video, guys. I'm wondering because, while I think that it's a beautiful place to be, I haven't seen any videos on medical emergencies or evacuation, plans even though there are a lot of people over 55 , I have been to Quartzsite several times and have travel though out the Southwest .
There are some local services and we have seen one instance of an emergency vehicle heading out into the desert. But most people have some sort of medical insurance for transport if they are concerned about that given their health status.
Love these videos. Love your RV.
Wow! That place is humongous!!!
Linda, it is huge! And there's a lot of us out here! 😆
I remember my parents neighbors going to Quartzsite in the 80s... they loved the gem shows ... I will do the same thing when I retire !!
Lots of people go for the gems and rocks... we go for the 🏜. Neat to see it all on display. Thank you
Congratulations on your 100th Vlog! It was a pleasure meeting both of you. I am amazed by the landscape of the desert and mountains. The area has so many places to explore with views appreciate. 😊
Great meeting you, Maryellen. We never thought it would get to 100! 🤔🤣😎 Glad you're along on the journey.
I can’t begin to tell you just how much I enjoy following your travels. We had a diesel pusher and downsized to a class. But less than a yr. With the new class B we had to give up RV’g due to my health. I’m now living your travels even on the same routes we once took. Thanks for sharing and keep up sharing
Sorry to hear about your health issues, David. But we're excited to have you along on the journey. 😊
Congratulations on your 💯 Vlog 👏❤
Thank you!! 😊We never thought it would hit 100 but it's been an amazing ride. Thanks to everyone for helping to make it happen.
I love you too God bless you too ❤❤❤
Thank you, Brad. We really appreciate that and glad you're along on the journey. Appreciate all your support of the channel too. Means a lot to us.
Loved the video! So good to meet you both today at the Big Tent area. We look forward to our next Big Big Travel encounter. ❤😎
Thanks, Yvette. We really enjoyed meeting and chatting with you guys. No bedding commercials around here! Safe travels to you guys and hope to meet again on the road.
Amazing. Have fun and be safe.
Thank you, Christy! Will do! Stay warm this winter.
It seems Quartzsite is the Woodstock for RVers with an area you “cannot unsee” 😂.
OH yeah! Not going in to that area again! some of those images are burned into my brain...not a good image either! 🤔😂🤣😮😁
Y’all make it sound so nice. But not so nice. RVing is not always about the cheapest option. Love the vids. Everyone does there own thing. It’s not for us but love that peeps love the Q. We are third generation snowbirds. My grandparents went there and my parents went there for 30 years before they finally succumbed to the Yuma parks. Respect. ❤️
Hey Keith, did not know about the 3rd generation snowbirds! Q is definitely not for everyone and we really think the whole "vibe" about this experience is in the boondocking/solar attitude about being in the desert. Glad you tried it. Looks like your travels are going great and hope you enjoy South Padre. See you down the road sometime.
35 miles to Walmart in Parker
OK...that is true. We have been there once but keep forgetting about it. Usually we try to stock up prior to hitting the desert. Thanks for the reminder about Parker.
I'm a frequent Quartzsite camper during winter (except Jan/Feb because of the peak season crowds)... because the weather is mild and you can always find someplace to park and camp. The desert just feels like freedom. Places I go for food, supplies, and stuff in town: 1 - Silly Al's Pizza. The parking lot is always full for a reason. 2 - Coyote Fresh Foods. Better than Roadrunner Market (in my own opinion) and they have a hot counter serving food (line waiting for lunch orders when I was there). 3 - Woodstock Firewood. Always nice to me and fair priced for campfire wood. 4 - Arco gas station. Go north of the Chevron for cheaper fuel and quick supplies. 5 - Pattie's RV Park. Easy drive-thru for propane refills. I'm in Phx and only weekend camp in Quartzsite, so that's why my list is short, but it's still good info. I should be back there once/twice in March/April before the season ends... then, it's back to the forest in northern AZ to cool off for the summer. Enjoy your stay! Cheers! Pete in Arizona - KI7LIL
Hey Pete, great info. Patti's for LP is the best. Roadrunner has been good with produce but we'll check out Coyote in the future. Appreciate your comments and time watching the channel.
Linda and I truly enjoyed meeting you guys and we hope to see you again
Thanks, John. Sorry we didn't get to spend more time with you guys but hope you made it back safely towards the Phoenix area. Enjoyed meeting you guys and hope to see you on the road sometime.
@bigtruckbigtravels Linda's coughing got worse. She is on antibiotics currently.
@johnnygreene5447 uh oh. Hope those help and she gets better soon.
sounds like my kind of place thank you for the great informative video
Glad you enjoyed it, Dale. Cool place....nice people.
Nice meeting you both today just outside the big tent, Tom and Barb. Safe travels!!
Great meeting you guys and really enjoyed our chat. Small world. Thanks for saying "hi".
The rain kept the dust down, more like Canada prices not Alaska (been there 2 years ago. The clouds the last few days affected my solar big time. Going through a 40lb propane with my on board generator to keep batteries up every day and a half.
Just enough rain this year to help keep the dust down. It's been nice. It has been cooler this week but nice the back half of the week with more solar. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday were definitely a little more cloudy.
✌😎👍 a little short, but another great one!
didn't want to "bore" everyone with another Quartzsite "diatribe" but we enjoy it and thought everyone would like to see "our side" of Q. A little different take on it. Thank you for commenting. Next week will be longer...
I believe the primary reason so many people come to Quartzsite, is for Quartzsite. You might want to show some examples and discuss how it is formed. Even film lightning strikes followed by, what I bet would be those ATV's running into the hills to rockhound.
True. Lots of reasons to come to Quartzsite. We're focused a little more on the RV side of the equation since that's what we are invoived with but lots of ATV's heading to the hills.
It's nice to catch up with you guys, I'm not one for the dusty desert but I did spy some really cool metalwork! Have fun!
Always great, Carol. Thank you for "hanging" in the desert with us! 🤣😎 We enjoy it. Thank you.
Nice video! We love it there. It puts only a 2 hour drive from our son and granddaughters and my husband’s 93 year old mother.
That's fantastic, Terri. Very convenient, reasonable price and just a nice area to stay. Thanks
Oooh the shopping looks fun! I see something I want for my garden!
Sondra loves the hunt, Kris and she usually finds something "she can't live without"!
We have had to stop a couple times in Quartzsite for car breakdowns. I’ve always wondered why anyone would willingly go there. I am still wondering…
😆 🤣 😂 it's definitely not for everyone. If the weather is nice then it's great... if it's windy and cold... not as nice. 😆
Was it really a wrong turn to the clothing optional area David? 😁😁 We are hoping to get to Quartzsite sometime, but would only like to do it if we are going with a group or had some friends already there where we could camp with! Great video as always!
😆 oh... Definitely a wrong turn! It's not pretty back there! 😬🤢😳
Looks like you both had fun
Lots of fun, Debra. We enjoy the area and the vibe.
What so very interesting about that place as I see it on yours and others videos is how objective and free many people are. The popularity and discretionary incomers seem to be very numerous.
People come here to be their own person and follow their passion. For many, it's solar and living independantly off the sun...and they spend big dollars to do it. Many others find a way to do it more cheaply but it works for them. Thanks
Stumbled on your channel today. Been binging on your videos all day. I have been all over this page. Are you retired? What the heck kinda work do/ did
ya ll do? That's one hummer of a home! Much thought went into that rig. We r ret military, but hubby will retire 2nd time this fall and we hope to start rving next year.
Lots of fun in this lifestyle. Congrats on the pending retirement. Thanks for your service. We were corporate types who loved camping. Sondra is an engineer so we were very thorough in our design. Thanks for finding us.
@bigtruckbigtravels lol...I KNEW one of u had to be an engineer. U can see the thought that went into it. BTW, we ve been planning since we were 18.
There is ONE WHAT A BURGER in VA. I grew up on them. But u would NEVER get that rig on the parking lot. Not even curiosity. Lol, it s near Richmond.
@@BethConant nice. Used to go to the Tobacco Company for special meals. Thanks
@@BethConant nice. Planning makes a difference!
Great discrimination of Quartsite, in words and photos, you mailed it!
Thanks, Andy. We enjoy the "vibe" here in Q.
Hello. Will you still be in Quartzite tomorrow the 27th? We’re driving out from Phoenix to see Suite Travels and hopefully meet some new people from the HDT community. Safe travels!
Hey Tod, we're heading out on the 28th so if we're around come on by. Safe travels.
It was very nice meeting both of you. Thanks for all of the info and pointers!!!!
David, she's gonna want one of those.
Oh...I know....🤣😎
I like the “no” look!!..
🤔🤣😊😂Oh yeah! Thanks, John.
That tiny house was neat. When in Courtside you said 14 days I believe then u have to move. When u have to move is it just to a different site or area or do u have to leave for good.
There are different areas in the Q. We were in a special permit area so the 14 day limit does not apply.
I stay at Arizona Sun, quiet and out of the fray. Also priced right.
Very nice. That's a good option to winter. Thanks
I know why I would want to be there…because there are weather problems everywhere else in the USA.
That is the truth. It's a little cool here but sunny and really very nice weather. No complaints. Thank you.
It is unbelievable how many people go to the Q, and how long or short a stay they make of it.
It's incredible, Larry. We see all kinds of "homesteading". Some build rock walls and a few areas look like a neighborhood with "driveways"! It's amazing.
180.00 to 600.00 increase wow
Hmmm...$600? I think I missed something.
Just found you're youtube videos. Curious where your home base is. Said you did 1800 miles to Quartesite az.
Enjoyed the Orion walk through. Said you were going to conroe tx. Interesting
Welcome aboard! We get our mail out of Texas but we have no "home port". No RV lot or land or home that we go back to from time to time. We visit our daughter in Alabama over the holidays but otherwise, we are rolling down the road to our next destination. 8+ years of full-time RV travel and we still enjoy it.
WOW
My wife gets home sick if we gone for a week on vacation
@@George-py9bt we are ALWAYS home.
You're rig is bigger than most motel rooms😅
@@George-py9bt that is true... especially in Asia!
That white rig with the semi towing it you took a pic of is a 80 or 90 yo couple and the old man built it himself
Oh wow! did not know that. They have their "homestead" going on out here. Pretty cool. Thank you for sharing.
@@bigtruckbigtravels yeah absolutely, there was a woman that did an interview of them not long ago and yes they are getting to the age where they can’t move or travel like they used to, but he still drives that big rig and tows it, despite not as much… they used to have a smaller car and those back doors open up to under their bed and the car would drive up into it, but now their latest car is too big… interesting people! I think that is like the 4 or 5th Rv he built
I'd hate it but it's not for introverts. Big tent would a nightmare for me. You have to like the community. I hear it's been cloudy and rainy this year . 😢
Our first week in Q was beautiful in the 70's and a light breeze. This past week it was cool and rainy but cleared up around Thursday but still cool. It is lots of people but very nice community. 👌
Clothing optional? That is scary
Very scary indeed... if you only knew... 😆 just can't make this stuff up!
Do have to have a class A, CDL drivers license to drive your rig.
Hey, Charles, thanks for the great question. Since it's a private truck, we don't need a CDL to operate it. Texas requires a Class A non-commercial endorsement but each state is different. We were required to take a written and a road test.
Maybe a face mask would help with the dust!? Looks like fun!
That would help...this year it's much better and not as dusty as years past. A little bit of rain really helps.
@Big Truck Big Travel - who owns or manages Quartzsite?
Hmmm...it's a town so there's the cty government. The land to camp is managed by the Federal government as part of the Bureau of Land Management. It's an RV town for certain.
we are going to make an effort to get to Quartsite in 2025
Everyone should experience the Q at least once if they RV.
If you have never been to quartzite how do you find a spot, don't want to drive around aimlessly trying to find a spot
Many will camp with a group to acclimate themselves. Some will just pick an open spot near the main road and try it out. Look around and see if there's a better spot. Some will park the rig and drive around to scout an area.
exodus of sorts after the 94 Northridge quake
OK. Not familiar with it but makes sense. Thanks for the comment.
With all that dust, why is the food uncovered?
Good point, Bryan. The evening was very still with only a slight breeze and not dusty at the time. Actually, this year it is not really dusty at all since the winds have been light and a little bit of rain to keep it down. They also paved the main road this year which eliminated any dust from the most traveled road in the area. Woohoo!
Kind of sad really,,,,you know a lot of those people are just trying to survive the winter in warmer temps. For whatever reason they have lost their job,house......and everything they have is in that 40,000 Rv.
Some are in that situation but many just want to escape the cold and live cheaply in a neat setting. People really do come here for different reasons... but cost is one of them.
I’m glad to see that you guys went back for another visit! However I must disagree/that this event is for “everyone”. I’ve watched several YT channel’s and all I see are white faces and Trump flags and no one ever seems to mention the lack of diversity there or what the organizers are doing to try to change that. If you had biracial grandchildren can you honestly say that would be the first place you would want to take them? I think not!!!
That's all in the eye of the beholder. If you see race then you are in some terms racist. We try to view everyone as a person and not by the color of their skin. The BLM area is open to all and very low cost so accessible to all. Lots of people from all walks of life. Just because their are some Trump flags doesn't mean that everyone there holds those values. The first step in diversity is to accept everyone on their own merits and let their actions speak to who they are as a person. We love to camp and that passion is the overriding theme to Quartzsite. Appreciate your comments. Thanks
Are you going to Mexico 🇲🇽?
We are Peter, but not in our HDT. We'll visit while on our next stop to Los Algodones and we will spend a little more time later on this spring. How are we getting down there? Not sure...but we have something we're trying to work out. 🤔😯🤣😎
@bigtruckbigtravels can you travel in a RV to all the South American Countries?
@PeterKeys-he9gl yes by traveling on the Pan American highway. There is an impassable section near Columbia (I believe) that you must put your RV on a container and ship it across.
@bigtruckbigtravels that would be insane.
How far south can you actually go?
@@PeterKeys-he9gl all the way to Argentina.
Just an observation but all I see is Trump flags flying there.
We noticed that too. Way more Trump flags than American flags...I guess it's a vendor selling his wares. We enjoyed the show...at the tent.
Unsettling
It's because real Americans love other real Americans.
They were better off financially when Trump was the President
Definitely not for me!!!!!!!!!
Lol... but now you know! Thanks for watching the channel. 😁
Yes, now I know. I think I will stick with the snow in norther NH where I look out and see only mountains and trees.

Why complain so much and you are boring
It's our travels to and around Quartzsite. Not nice to call someone "boring" whom you have not met and a hateful comment which is totally unsolicited. You may leave the channel now and enjoy your life. Aloha
