It's great to see that James is never too afraid to speak his mind, even when that means blaming others for his unleathy food choices! (this comment may or may not be slightly mocking James)
I appreciate that you often include a lighthearted critique of your own rambling, but I also hope that you know that’s one of my favourite parts of your channel. Your photos are great, you give great advice, you don’t take yourself too seriously, and you’re confident in yourself enough to share your internal dialogue with us. I think something like that is as valuable as anything else. I also would really not hate it if this was the most liked comment on this video, but that is not the point of this comment. Love what you do James, thanks for sharing your time and energy with us.
I have to give you props, James. As I watch a boatload of RUclips photographers, but you're the only one that my wife can stand to watch with me. We both love your sense of humor.
James has pretty much been my mentor since I gotten into photography a few years ago. Wish I could think of something clever to say and get likes, but I’m a middle school teacher and too exhausted to think at this time of year.
It's been absolutely clear blue skies where I am for the past week or more, every time I feel discouraged by the light I think about you and how you can make beautiful photos in any light and never complain, it's very inspirational.
I think James would agree that you won’t become a better photographer by watching RUclips videos. You need to get out and take photos. Having said that, James is so much fun to watch. I never miss an episode.
It's incredible how you're able to take fantastic shots using a Leica and a phone, definitely shows that the photographer is more important than the camera.
James, just want to say thanks for being a bright spot in my day. I love the photography and the viewpoint to try and improve my own photos. Not to mock you, but I think spoiling the fate of the house is 100% spoilers.
I have been watching James for a while now and it is nice to see a photographer admit that it is not easy and not to just give up when you don’t get the shots that you think you deserve just because you have a camera in your hands. Thanks James…
There once was a man from Inisherin Who loved to play music and sing He played the tin whistle With skill and with bristle And charmed all the ladies with his grin
Heyhey, a good video of James to watch while having healthy dinner. Hope it doesn't foreshadow anything Very much agreed on the end with the relationship you get of a place that you wanna visit multiple times, as an Italian here i constantly visit and check old towns close to me and try to get different photos or same photos with different light, and from totally ignoring that town it made me appreciate it a lot more
I just love how at ease he is doing his video’s and how he stops and brakes in to chat about what he just said. Keep them coming and keep on shooting. You are da man James, may I call you James ?
really liked that small house with sheep in the foreground , that's my kind of photography also with Rich on the beach running past the house and appearing to the left of it 😊
I've pared down my subscriptions to photo videos and I think you're the only one left. I enjoy going on the journey with you and watching you eat hot dogs. Very relaxing.
Thanks for your work. I think one of your strengths is that it's easy to see you are talented and know what to do, to get what you want - but you are a goofball like the rest of us so becoming a good photographer can be achieved by anyone willing to learn. I like that.
That was some deep thoughts James. It’s great the way you explain how you work with the conditions you are presented with good or bad and to just try and enjoy the moment. It’s all about the enjoyment of the moment and the challenge. Great work.
James makes great videos, this one has so many plot points (bad food, going for a run, the object of interest), and he provides a consistent shift in perspective. Keeps the videos fresh.
Here’s my feedback. In 10 years of watching youtube videos, this is literally the first time I’ve actually responded to the sponsor and checked them out. Still have never gone to nordvpn or squarespace or whatever they’re called.
HOW CAN I MOCK JAMES ENOUGH TO GET THE MOST LIKES/COMMENTS? In all seriousness, you are a fantastic photographer and an even better human. Thank you for all the effort it takes to make these videos. They are spectacular. Watching these videos often acts as my serotonin for the day.
Love your philosophical, personal chat at the end. Literally, taking away a photograph leaves the relationship empty whereas working toward it helps to develop a nice pursuit of photos.
Good to see you in Ireland, James. Enjoy. Achill Island is, as you know, pronounced by the locals "Ak ill" island, although I think they missed an opportunity, "A chill" island, anyone? Anyone??
i usually skip ads but I know watch time during them helps support the creator so I stick through James, and im not just saying this for the top comment
It is better to travel well than to arrive, it has been said. The desire to capture the perfect shot is what keeps us going back for more. Really good video that sums up why we take photos.
James I have to say I really enjoy the candid feel of your videos. It's nice to get a truly honest perspective on boats... and cameras haha Keep up the great work!
Welcome to Ireland James. We are getting great light in the west at the moment - you might have been a week too early! I love your chat about building a relationship with a place, or as you said in another video, a journey to a photo. It makes landscape photography such an immersive experience rather than just take a photo and go! And the upshot of the story - we'll see you back in Ireland soon.
You know what, i hate seeing people type 'first' when they are indeed the first person to watch a new upload but don't add anything else to the comment! Well here i am and i'm not going to say it so there! Anyways, hi James, great stuff as usual mate, and 7:19 is a belter. Keep up the good work mate. Cheers!
Definitely agree on the pacing of trips, start of the year I flew from Australia to New Zealand and managed both islands in 12 days. Saw a lot and got some great photos but averaged 3hrs driving every day and didn't get to properly experience each location.
I can't tell if I'm happy or sad that you didn't add something like "...in Ireland" to this video's title. But I suppose it was a delightful surprise, so maybe this was best. I feel that hearing how you relate to your photography helps others figure out their own relationship to it. You probably aren't the only "shallow" location shooter out there! I'm willing to bet you made at least one or two folks think "Gee, am I like that? How do I relate to locations through the act of taking images, or after they've been taken?" And I believe that's a great help to becoming a better photographer. I know you just got me thinking about that 👍
Far play to you for paying homage to the Emerald Isle with your Emerald footwear !! Did "Darby o Gill" give you them !! Great video and your absolutely right some beautiful scene's along the wild Atlantic way Its pot(of gold) luck with the weather !
I went to Norfolk last March, had a week with heavy overcast. I chose March for a chance of warm spring sun, and some storms. Didn’t happen. Terrible. That was the worst 5 days of photography. I couldn’t let it work. Learning? Maybe. Motivating? A bit. But mainly disappointing. Can relate.
I completely understand what you mean about getting the "great" shot early on in a trip...it can sometimes ruin the rest of the trip if nothing else lives up to that original great shot. But the worst is when you think you have a great shot and then when you look at it at home and turns out you actually don't like it! I have been working very hard on being intentional every time I go out to photograph, treating each trip out as it's own singular event. That has really helped me to focus and not fall into the trap. this is hardest when I have flown a significant distance to get to a place, or it is somewhere that I don't think I will be back to for a very long time....but I continue to try!
The bay at 8:50... I think I photographed almost the same angle on film when I was there as a twelve years old. 🤔 Really looking forward to seeing more of the Irish westcoast.
I do like your style James... you find amazing pics where I thought there wouldn't be! I think I'm developing the 'Popsys Eye' a bit - whenever I see a building looking lonely I think 'Ah, Popsys!'😄 Seriously, thank you for your videos👍
Welcome to Ireland, James. Hope you get a lot of great shots. The rest of us here are enjoying the fine weather, though, so please don’t pox it for us just yet! :-)
Well James, this is my stab at posting a comment that gathers the most likes! After I-don't-know-how-many-years in an office where my only window looked out at another wall, your Italian dream Saal print would be great to hang to give me a "window of hope"! Right, now everyone can vote...for me...!
Thanks for all your kind words... 😐
I'll take a look at the most liked comment at the end of this month (June). 🙃

It's great to see that James is never too afraid to speak his mind, even when that means blaming others for his unleathy food choices!
(this comment may or may not be slightly mocking James)
I would give this comment a like, but it currently has sixty-nine likes, and I can't ruin that. Alas, it cannot last.
@@SleepyCuento I suppose all good things must come to a swift, yet sobful end.
You win my friend! Send your address to hello@jamespopsys.com :)
@@JamesPopsysPhoto That's awesome haha! I've sent you an email titled "The Saal Digital giveaway" :)
Id love a vid of you shooting again the G9 :)

"Let's be honest, we wouldn't take photos if it was easy." is my new favorite phrase, it really talk to me.
I disagree. Taking photos is easy. That's why I do it.
Top James quotes "...echo, echo..." & "....blights my life to live in a place like this."
I have to give you props, James. As I watch a boatload of RUclips photographers, but you're the only one that my wife can stand to watch with me. We both love your sense of humor.
Your sense of humour is second to none…dry wit and honest opinions is so refreshing. Keep taking pictures and keeping us amused!
James has pretty much been my mentor since I gotten into photography a few years ago. Wish I could think of something clever to say and get likes, but I’m a middle school teacher and too exhausted to think at this time of year.
I just recently saw The Banshees of Inisherin. I immediately clicked when I saw the thumbnail
We don't deserve, but definitely need, more of philosophical James.
It's been absolutely clear blue skies where I am for the past week or more, every time I feel discouraged by the light I think about you and how you can make beautiful photos in any light and never complain, it's very inspirational.
I just want to take a minute to say I love this channel, James. Every video is a delight, and I look forward to every one of them. Thank you.
I really thought James was going to switch back to his Nikon. I can only dream.
I think James would agree that you won’t become a better photographer by watching RUclips videos. You need to get out and take photos. Having said that, James is so much fun to watch. I never miss an episode.
Your videos go great with a morning cup of coffee. Cheers!
It's incredible how you're able to take fantastic shots using a Leica and a phone, definitely shows that the photographer is more important than the camera.
James, you're a breath of fresh air on RUclips photography videos. Thanks!
started watching you because of photography, now stick around for the personality, PROPS to POPSYS
I love Ireland too. Seems I have relatives there somewhere. Wouldn’t know my grandpa never knew his parents. Very nice.
Ireland is amazing.
James, just want to say thanks for being a bright spot in my day. I love the photography and the viewpoint to try and improve my own photos. Not to mock you, but I think spoiling the fate of the house is 100% spoilers.
James doesn’t even need to be mocked. It speaks for itself.
Love you James, first vid of yours I’ve ever seen
Nothing special to say, just want the Saal print. Thank you for all your inspiration, James.
I have been watching James for a while now and it is nice to see a photographer admit that it is not easy and not to just give up when you don’t get the shots that you think you deserve just because you have a camera in your hands. Thanks James…

"This is a scouting trip" yet you still take some pretty beautiful photos. Love the work as always, James.
James is actually one of the most entertaining photographers to watch on youtube. And he does great photos.
(I think I'm trying too hard)

Great videos that entertain, enlighten and educate all at the same time.
really liked that small house with sheep in the foreground , that's my kind of photography also with Rich on the beach running past the house and appearing to the left of it 😊
I like the way he just stops talking, takes a shot of the boat and continues…
that's how it works
‘Emo fringe’ sneaking out from under the cap is mesmerising at the intermission- can’t unsee it now can you. You are welcome.

much love friend, your content has been indispensable as I've started my own photography journey.
That video was the definition of leaving them wanting more.

The closing monologue was weirdly exactly what I needed to hear today, so glad you went philosophical on us. I travel much too quickly, too. 🙂
James makes great videos, this one has so many plot points (bad food, going for a run, the object of interest), and he provides a consistent shift in perspective. Keeps the videos fresh.
Love your videos James. Not only are the educational but makes me want to travel so much more, especially to other countries. Keep up the great work!
‘I need to find the box that, that came in. Probably should have paid more attention to that…’ *walks out of shot*

James, you are without a doubt the most interesting and entertaining Photographer on this platform. Keep doing what you’re doing brother!
How did I miss this? Nice to see the home country getting some love. Consider going to Donegal, fewer tourists but the best landscapes in Ireland IMO.
So glad I subscribed to your channel. Your banter with the camera is funny and genuine and your videos are always so well done. Thanks!

Dang, so sense watching the movie now. Thanks.
This makes me really excited for my bike tour along the Wild Atlantic Way this year! Also your photos are amazing as always.
I see light that you experienced in this video rather as something different that can be challenging.
That is a genius way to run a giveaway. I hope whoever wins it enjoys it!

informative video Thanks James.
