The Hit Lister - great idea. I love "repurposing" things that we already have or can get double duty from. Thanks for sharing your idea! Best Regards, DFJ
Friend you just saved me a lot of effort to build a palette buster. I literally watched this video in my shed it was getting ready and then saw this comment I just tested it You're a beautiful human
Thank you DirtFarmerJay for a well presentation on removing the planks from the pallet. Also, thanks for taking the time to include a sketch of the material list and dimensions to fabricate a pallet buster.
made something like yours just a couple of days ago. 'works great, the nicer oak slats get set aside for woodworking projects anything that breaks goes into the shop's woodstove win/win - thanks
Ok. Great. I bought one online. I tried using it a couple of times and fell onto my butt both times. I am not familiar with what is hardwood or soft wood. You said you got pallets from somewhere that held concrete on top. Mind suggesting where that could be found? Pallets i have seen have quite a few nails on each spot? from repairs and reinforcement. I think i need charmin padding on my butt! Lol
Michelle, some home centers that sell bagged concrete and sand products have them stacked on these types of pallets and may be willing to part with them. However, many are on loan from the supplier and have deposits attached to them. Hope that helps! Be careful and try not to fall down! Best, DFJ
Robert, thanks for writing! I'm not sure what blocking you are referring to. The pallets we have access to and are very common in our area is made up of 3 cross members turned on edge, 3 cross slats on the bottom, and about 9 on the top. Best, DFJ
This Aussie one is the pick of the crop as it ensures the slats lift off squarely. But it ain't cheap. www.uopaint.com/products/pallet-buster. Another pivoting one, really heavy duty, out of stock so I don't know the price: ruclips.net/video/zZMl3cI27sk/видео.html
ok, first, that pallet tool is already made and on the market from so many manufactures. I do see that it is very hd however the one I bought on amazon 1.5 years ago is pivotable on the feet and works better, but like thew heavy duty construction on yours also.. My main point is this, you are WRONG on the mb ( methyl bromide) chemical that is on the pallet you are disassemblying. METHYL BROMIDE hasnt been used on pallets since 2005 because of the health risks.if you cut it, sand it, etc( anywhere there is dust or released in the air it is a hazard. That is why all your users should look for the " Ht" marking on pallet, that stands for heat treated and is better to use for crafts, furniture, henhouses, etc. in other words non caustic. and trust me, I have somewhere around 150 pallets and have used for many projects. Just have to be safe when using them and this sir, is NOT safe to use the red, yellow or blue..
No fox given - thanks for writing. Both he and I have seen this type of tool commercially as well as "homemade" versions, but there was no specific "knock-off" made. It's a good idea no matter where it came from and we've been very happy with the results. Best, DFJ
Good video. No rambling on and wasted time. I like videos that get right to the point and just say what you need to know. Good job!
lol minutes of my life I'll never get back
That's a great homemade tool. You should be proud of your son.
Larry his son didnt invent it they are sold in stores world wide.

Pretty cool tool, farmer Jay. What an awesome son you've got! I really enjoy watching your videos, so keep 'em comin'. 'Preciate it!
Really nice tool!
I had a bar similar to yours years ago.
A pitchfork also works fine if you don't have enough money for a pallet pry bar

EBay has one with a flat bar in the back that sits right on the railing cost $43 and it moves off just like you showed on the video the wood
by the way the Vergo pallet buster is the one I have. with the rotatable foot is very handy when disassemblying pallets.
made something like yours just a couple of days ago.

win/win - thanks
Thanks for watching and commenting. Hope to hear from you again! DFJ

What area do you live in? The view is beautiful.
Why does it not show pàllet made with blocks in it ?

Should break both ends loose first then do the center, then you won’t have to step on the loose ends
Good tip Karen! Thanks for watching and writing.
Make a lot less damage than a crow bar.

Pallet wood to me is pretty much useless. Rots easily and you almost always bust the boards taking one apart.
Robert, thanks for weighing in. Best, DFJ
Your son seen it on youtube mate.

LMBO MY little ones Grandbabies take the nails out.
Why is your file executable?
Brock, I'm not sure. It should be just a simple scan of a construction drawing that I did of the unit. What are you seeing on your side?
@@DirtFarmerJay when I try to download it, I get a warning that it is an executable file.
