Howard was AWESOME!!! He was so sweet to Lesley! I am always appreciative as I know many others are of your translations! I know it takes a lot of time and effort and can be painful to have to hear and re-hear the sad scenes. But many thanks to all that you have done!
@@lb1262dt Heather comes back around Thanksgiving of 1980. Look for November episodes in 1980 when Jeff and Alice go visit her in the sanitarium. She comes to stay with Lesley in December of 1980.
NOW you know what it was like to listen to this over and over again when I translated it. Pure torture. Contempt for Rick, that's for sure. Listening to this in English, I have a new appreciation for Howard.
I think Howard is a great guy and a good match for Lesley. Too bad TPTB didn't put them together. I can tell by the way his character is being played that he definitely has an interest in her. Ric really doesn't deserve her. But, as they say, the heart wants what it wants.
I wish they had at least brief romance (Howard and Lesley). It's almost like they didn't know what to do with his character 😔. Also, what happened to Gary Lansing?
I was also glad when Scotty tells Rick, that's a possibility when Rick asks if Howard might be interested in Lesley. It was almost as if Rick doesn't get that he doesn't have a say after he gets a divorce who is interested in Lesley or not
@@Creating2413 Yes! I am so glad Rick had to stand back and watch Leslie dating a lot of different man I wish she would’ve kept it up longer as an adult but when I was a teenage girl watching this I wanted them to get back together
I agree! I was also very happy with how Howard handled Rick, without directly confronting him. In that scene following Howards departure, I would've liked Scotty adding a bit more to his response, to Rick thinking Howard may have personal interest in Lesley. As in, what the hell do you care, what another mans' intentions are towards your now, ex-wife? You didn't care about her before, for the sake of your precious son and now that she's no longer your wife, you care? Pr*&K.
As tragic as this scene is, I just need to laugh out loud every time Lesley gets her "it's just the immediate family - as long as it lasts" out - comic relief par excellence...
Rick comes across as quite "wooden". He doesn't have a very interesting personality. The actor that played Rick before CR was very dynamic and great looking, to boot. Too bad he didn't stick around.
Chris Robinson was in legal trouble at the time..taxes. The court let him work on work release or something like that. I’d be humorless and wooden too.😂
I have to say, I don't know why Rick chose Monica over Lesley. Lesley had so much warmth and class, and she was prettier than Monica besides. I've come to appreciate Monica more over the years, but I'm team Lesley all the way. I wish she had a stronger part in the show these days.
It does seem quite selfish to help a deeply disturbed wife get better just to dump her for someone else. But, Heather is such a psychopath, she needs to be in a straight jacket for life!
i still don't get the charme of Rick & Lesley.. Yeah they have Chemistry somewhere down the Line but Rick was always Jerk-ish and Self Obsessed.. I Mean even when he ''loved'' Monica he was more interested in Alan Junior then her even tough he said to her otherwise Months before . Even Monica mentioned that somewhere in one of those June Episodes because it was all about AlanJunior instead of Monica and Rick... Rick never really Cared that Deeply for Monica.. He felt more comitted because of their Son HE ALWAYS DREAMED of.. Thank God for Gloria Monty to make Alan Junior Alans Son in the End! Smack That Rick!
GLBizzie you really have to see the way the old Rick was with Lesley. He really had a different take on the character. That Rick really gave the impression that he was deeply in love with Lesley and he always would see right through Monica's tricks. He let Lesley know he wasn't falling for them and he was always putting Lesley first, she tried to push him away but he wouldn't accept it because he knew that Lesley loved him and the writing was so good. It had old rick give concrete examples as to why he believed in their love. It just pulled you in. You have to see those old scenes in order to believe in Rick and Lesley.
@@Creating2413 I so agree with on the R/L love story. I fell in love with them when MG played Rick. He was all into Lesley and never gave Monica a second glance. It seems that when CR took over the role Rick became wishy washy 😩.

These are so very hard to watch and I thnk for me, sort of on par with Lesleys' gambling problem. Only here, I want to pummel the living daylights out of some people and they happen to be Rick & Monica - Monica first!!
Rick and Monica deserved each other. Neither projected much passion or charisma toward each other. Lesley was so much more likeable, warm, and kind. I felt bad for Alan. But, I don't know why he was so adamant about keeping Monica as his wife. I wondered what it would have been like if he and Lesley got together. I think they would have appreciated each other and possibly loved each other very much.
what is funny about that? she was still a pretty young woman with a gorgeous figure ( which she kept hidden in those loose clothes but there was a hot body under there, big boobs, slim waist, curvy hips). she has a lovely personality and she's a doctor. desirable, indeed.

Aww, Howard said all of the right things to Lesley. Too bad she only has eyes for Rick.

I think Rick is dull. CR may be a nice person in real life, but he's really not that good of an actor. I wonder why GH brought him on board.
So glad Leslie took off that hat ,she looked ridiculous 😂
