I bought the KP3S Pro about 2 months ago and have been running it 24/7. Great value for the money. I immediately ditched the spool holder and bowden tube in favor of just hanging filament from a lamp above my printer area. I also immediately added a textured pei sheet in lieu of the glass bed. Filament needs to be straightened and cut to a point to feed it into the extruder. Also as you noticed the z-end stop screw is too long, especially once the glass bed is ditched so file it a bit shorter and you're good to go. After over 1200 print hours at this point the only failures I've had were from when I forget to clean the pei sheet every few days/week. If you can't afford a Prusa or Bambu or just want a fun little cantilever printer to try, this is a great little printer for $180ish dollars. They just released a KP3S Pro V2 with Klipper installed from the factory as well for about $280. I wish that had been out before I bought this one since I've been tempted to Klipperize my KP3s Pro since it arrived. Thanks for reviewing this. I'm bummed more people don't know about Kingroon, they're great little budget printers and I want them to succeed and get more people into the hobby.

Your printer is missing the blue silicone sock. Also the leak is not from the gap in heater block and nozzle it's the poor quality of PETG bubbling and sticking to the nozzle itself. If it's a leak it should happen on PLA as well.

Just a heads up, relating to PETG/PLA filament swapping: these plastics don't mix well, so you should clean the hotend with ABS between swaps. I got this advice from my local filament manufacturer. They supply a small piece of ABS with PETG purchases. I believe they know best!

    • @theglowcloud2215

    •  Год назад

@@theglowcloud2215 I meant purge clean, not cold pulling. PETG and PLA aren't mixable, but both mix with ABS.

Are you planning to review the Sovol SV06? It's the same price but seems to be much better then this one! Comes default with PEI sheet, auto bed leveling, high quality injection molded parts and just a better quality overall. I bought one last week and the first print was perfect right away.

I put Klipper on my KP3S Pro S1 and makes that great little printer so much better. Love that little thing. Yes, get the all-metal heat brake and for the love of god make sure to put some thermal paste on it. I didn't at first and it kept clogging until I did. It has printed without a single clog since.

  • @jasontrauer

I had this problem with the z stop screw as well. I had removed that screw and filed it down so that it had more play. Quite the oversight for such a nice little printer. The temp adjustment (no presets) is lame, and no z-offset setting is also annoying, but otherwise it prints well. The KP3S Pro V2 is out now and uses Klipper with a nicer hotend and top-loading of the filament. Love your videos!

  • @Zellonous

To get the screw out, file or dremel a slot into the part sticking out and use a flat head to loosen it. Or maybe grab it with a pair of wire cutters and see if you can loosen it.

  • @whatisyouremailid

Also before you push the filament into the filament sensor straighten about 70 mm of the filament...the holes are too straight aligned as they should be. The curvature of the filament from winding does not let it go straight.

I've been using a CRUX 1 at work, I would not suggest getting one. It is a stringing disaster, and they suggest 8mm of retraction for a direct drive. I have an Ender 2 pro sitting next to it though and that is an incredible machine.

You do NOT need gluestick on that type of bed I have the KP5M and it has the same bed and I had the same leveling issues as you... but the bed is quite nice you just get it hot and it sticks and when it cools it releases just like PEI. I think its PEI glass or something.... if anything you just clean this bed with alcohol and it works good and sticks strongly with PLA in my experience. Also in my experience these printers don't have accurage print head temp but maybe that is just mine....

I ended up cutting my screw off to get it low enough. It’s even worse with the PEI because it is thinner and you need to drop the Z even more. I let them know via email and a week or so later I had a second screw show up in the mail from them. Overall I love this little thing and it has been a great printer to have at home since I brought the mk3 to the shop for work things.
