Good show. I always wondered if Gary Strydom wore a hair piece. Sometimes he looked like he had a full head of hair and other times he looked like he was thinning on top. Regardless he was a good looking guy. I also enjoyed Dave Hawk. Two of my favorites.
I have observed that the posing style in the 80's was evidently more sexually suggestive, like a little game of seduction. You can see how many of them even have that confident teasing look in their eyes and they look right into people's eyes. All that is lost today. Posing styles today are somehow robotic, less personal, a little dull if you will.
What a mess up judging, This contest was between John Hnatyschak , Robby and Ron Love - Gary Strydom should off ended up in 4th or 5th, His symmetry was off plus no back and no hardness at all. - Very bad judging! - Thank you for the video.
Thought I had the '89 but when I looked it turned out to be the '90. So I just posted the 1990 Men's and Women's Tournament of Champions and I'll keep looking for the '89. Thanks for the reply!
It amazes me now how obtainable...or possible and balanced the physiques of some of the bodybuilders looked like then... ( More of the illusion of mass with a great pump and fucus on separation and classic lines)☺️....compared to now..🤔.. Training , music , posing DEFINITELY appeared enjoyable...🤔
Bodybuilding has always been an unfair whatever (sport?) Berti Fox wasn’t even in the top five not even certain guys that where much better than Gary 😮🤮

Yes, he does wear a hair piece... Although more recently he got the plugs. He lives in Pattaya Thailand now and is still HUUUGGGE lol
