God, I just love India. One of my favorite places and people on earth. I’ve been blessed to have been there a number times. North to South, it’s a magnificent place to shoot.
I loved your photography but what I like even better is your mindset behind taking your images. We are visiting India at the end of the year and Varanassi is one of my most important destinations. We are from New Zealand and everthing will completely different from our experences and we a really excited to be going there. Thanks for sharing yur work.
Thanks much for your appreciation Gavin. My best wishes for your trip. May you have a safe, enjoyable and creatively engaging time in India :) blessings.
Just want to drop by and say how much I appreciate your vision and your work. I enjoyed how you portrayed the people in the community and how you stacked the forms of your subjects within the frames. I also just want to say that I agree in regards to the part when you didn't go and join the other photographers, taking images of the wrestlers. I relate in a sense, it isn't about what else I could bring out from the images to what they are producing, but rather, trusting my own instinct and vision, which comes to subject about how we are photographing life, stories, and in the moment. I personally am naturally hungry to keep developing and growing as an artist, but more so as a person who can inhale the experience that life is providing, that means a sense of openness, which means all the stories that are happening simultaneously, within the stories that we are witnessing around us, and if I am not ready to accept that moment for me to photograph, or just as equal when I am open to receive that moment to photograph. I allow it. Take care, and looking forward to seeing more from your work
Great video and photos! Its very inspiring. BTW, your IG link in the video description doesn't load your page. Hope you see this so it can get fixed and you get a lot more followers (which you deserve). Much love!
Wow!!! Amazing video, well put together. Loved the photos and philosophy, very similar to mine as well as style. I am just prepping, and will be in Varanasi in two weeks, so I am getting excited. Thank you so much for sharing. I loved it all. Subscribed. Cheers!!!!
Great video. Thanks for this. I'm visiting India (Mumbai/Alibag) this December. So I"m looking at videos from India now and I came across your channel. I'm a news photographer and I'll be taking LOTS of street pix during my time (2 weeks).
@@abhishek.scariya It has always been a scary thing for me to invade the personal space or taking pictures without consent. I saw this documentary on Vivian Meir who took stunning street photographs, idk how she managed to do it without consent.
@@kalpeshboiser Yes it's surely a daunting challenge and one that is renewed each time we take the camera out on the street. But more than anything else, I have found that a the right mindset and motivation is the best way to tackle this and of course to be filled with empathy for what we are doing and the space we are in.
@@ShreyaMishra-mb8on Hi Shreya. It’s a combination of studying good photos by others and also practice. Aap practice karo roz aur aap bhi zaroor improve karoge :)
Most people don’t get offended if they understand that you are not having a nefarious motive :) but I have noticed that in western and largely developed countries, people are more skeptical of street photography.
thanks for the video. Dude you should have given yourself way more time. Varanasi is an incredible gift. The photos could have been so much better. You only scratched the surface. But good effort. Go back. Try harder.
Thanks so much for watching and this is such a good question!! I think this deserves a video by itself. Will put it on priority and share my thoughts on it soon!
These shots look like they are clicked by an inexperienced person, sorry for harsh language but I with my smartphone click better pictures than these, no subject and background synchronisation, no subject placement, no aspects managed
Great video and the photos are stunning.
Thanks brother 😊🙏🏼
Loved some of those Black and Whites.
Thank you Raghav 🙏🏼
I really enjoy your approach to photography and the great light and shadow in many of your images.

That’s very kind of you Jimi 🙏🏼 Thanks much! Varanasi has so much visuals to take in and it’s difficult not to come back with decent photos :)
awesome content.. very few people from India who make authentic street photography videos on youtube. More videos with still images please.

Wish there was tags which was using the 18mm and which was 35mm

Was there any particular reaction from the people , did they offend you while making photographs ????

How do you get confidence to take strangers' photos like that? 😢

So how did you carry not of your mounted cameras? Were you exchanging them constantly?
*both mounted cameras
@@anups7958 nothing Special actually. Both cameras had individual straps. And I had one of them usually inside the bag.
Is this place safe for a solo female photographer?
Hi. Since it attracts a lot of tourists, yes should be fine largely as long as you take basic safety precautions.
