Maceration is very real. Most people just don't know about it because most people that wear fragrances wear designer fragrances. When u buy a designer fragrance it may have been sitting for years so it's already macerated.
It happened to me with oud for greatness! I got it during summer, I tried it and it smelled too powerful. I only sprayed it once and it gave me a headache. I left it on the shelf til winter time came around. I sprayed 3 times and it didnt smell as powerful but the smell was more pleasant. It became one of my favorites.
I noticed this with Asad. It was way too peppery strong at first, but a few months later it smelled a lot more warm and inviting. I had never heard of maceration until today, but it makes sense to me. Thank you for the content!
Maceration is definitely a real thing especially with budget fragrances. I bought into the hype with Hawas and Asad and was dissapointed at first. Set them on the back of my shelf, revisited them, and now they are my favorites. I can't get enough of them👍
Maturation benefits are more noticeable in some middle eastern fragrances. not all will require it, but have noticed everything from minor smoothness and longevity improvements to outright major changes.
I got my bottle of hawas this last Christmas and I’ve worn it a few times and it’s really good. I’m waiting for spring to really wear it and see how it performs and projects in the high heat
maceration is when raw ingredients are soaked in a solvent like alcohol to extract/ pull them, for example tincture. The right term u should be looking at is Matruation, this is the chemical reactions that occur when you mix the fragrance concentrate, and then again when it’s blended with alcohol. Maturation continues with the alcohol because it introduces new reagents (the alcohol) that triggers new chemical reactions.
Maceration is very real and in my case it has made some fragrances go from 6/10 to 9/10s or 10/10s like Eros edt or Ramz silver from lattafa. My gripe with maceration is that its truly annoying to have to wait to use a fragrance you really wanna use, maceration should happen naturally as you use your fragrance but it also should be standard for companies to fully macerate their product before selling, tbh i dont mind if i have to wait for a few months to have a way better version of a fragrance but i also dislike the fact that it is a process that relies on us as consumers.
I know the self-titled Mercedes Benz Cologne is discontinued... I've never had it or smelled it, but I heard all great reviews.. Are there any great alternatives to it ?
I had the same exact impression of hawas ice, I didn’t like it I wore it and got compliments but it smelled like cheap banana and a little bit of spice, I’m letting it macerate I hope it gets better same with asad, when I first got it it smelled like Christmas freshener I’m letting it macerate too, but last time I used it I did like it a little better it smelled more complex and I was able to get a little bit more of the lavander and top notes
So for me I used it , and used , and used it .. the. I left it alone and came back and it smell way different. But I have so many fragrances I can leave it alone and forget about it
Ive bought rasasi hawas about a month ago.I didnt like it so ive put it to macerate. Its been few weeks and i can already notice a progress.Wish me luck, since after 2h its smell is kinda weak
How do I travel with a fragrance I have a feeling that when I travel and have it in my pocket or bag the frgarnce gets ruined and doesn't last long anymore
@@BertRussell4711 i used the fragrance but i i used to take the cap off always, 3 months after this comment and my 2 fragrances had better performance, one of them even smell better

Just for correction you are using the wrong term maceration happens during production since they have to add some oils and store them to macerate in order for the fragrance to smell better. "Maturation" is the correct term since production is already done and all you have to do is to store them to age the fragrance.

I think u can still find it
Which batch did you get? Mine is from jun 23, and it performs horribly. The scent is gone after 1 hour.
Dang .. I got an old batch .. from a while ago ..
It do take time to get strong tho

🫡 yes sir
Can you macerate it and use it at the same time? Or do u have to completly leave it alone for a while

On
@@MalcolmCSToh okay but what differences did the maceration so how was the small before and after ? Im tryna macerate it for a month now.
How do you macerate it properly bro??and how for long
Get a few sprays out of the bottle then let it sit in a cool dark area away from sun light for like 2 to 3 to 4 months.. then try it again .. 🔥🔥🔥
You can still come back to it and use it. It's a process that happens on its own. Once you get the air out of the bottle.
How do I travel with a fragrance I have a feeling that when I travel and have it in my pocket or bag the frgarnce gets ruined and doesn't last long anymore
@@AlritealritealriteCan't you just take the top off to make it faster then?
same it smelled weird at first
Is it ok if i take off the cap while macerating?
I actually haven’t really tired it .. I did hear if you take the cap off and leave it off it could go flat 🤷🏽 but idk how true that is
Atomizers don't allow air into the bottle unless the fragrance is sprayed. So leaving it off won't have any effect.
