You don't need monthly fee's to buy some of ADT's products. You can easily purchase wireless door and window alarms that set off a 130/dB alarm to scare off intruders. And though dogs are good, dogs can't call the police when you have an intruder, dogs can't send an armed guard response unit when you see suspicious people roaming around your house attempting to break in, nor can they call the fire department when your house is burning, nor can they call the medics when you are severely injured, and also can't detect carbon monoxide poisoning. Dogs are good cost effective home security, but you also have to train them to guard homes (Most dogs only bark but are scared when they detect true danger) in a real life situation the burglars would just shoot the dog to death or stab it to death, or even just feed it something to make it stop barking which is a notorious trick by burglars. Not to mention you spend more money having to feed the dogs, buy toys, pay for vaccines and grooming ect. I'd rather just install ADT's alarm system and pay the monthly fee to stay ENTIRELY safe from multiple threats with a extremely rapid response.
