- In this episode of my 'How To' series, I am showing you how to remove a F56 Mini head unit.
I came across this Mini One with a faulty Visual Boost radio head unit and thought i would share with you how easy it is to remove and get repaired.
It's also a great video to show you how to just remove the standard entertainment screen if you're looking to upgrade it.
I have had issues with these a few times and our go to company to get these fixed is Revtronic. Here is a link to their website - www.revtronic.com/

Very useful and informative. God bless those who post nassively useful stuff on U-Tube1
Excellent video, very well explained and shown.
Missed you mate
👍👍👏👏⭐️⭐️ nice one
Great video! When replacing the screen is there any need to have it "programmed" by a Mini dealer? Thanks
Brilllian video, we dont have satnav so think it could be the unit behind... do you sent to the same place?
is it possible to replace head unit on 2015 cooper s which is radio only with head unit from cooper s 2016 with sat nav?
The screen on my 2016 Mini is lit up (white light) but theres no info etc on it. Its exactly the same screen as in this video. Will I need to replace just the screen? I Havnt seen it working, I'm a motor trader and its one I've bought with this fault already on. Thanks in advance...
👍🏻 any advice on the DAB not working, mines has gotten progressively worse in the passed year. On a 69 plate F55
Have you change the aerial on the car at all?
How do you rescan the dab radio? It doesn’t seem to auto scan itself plus I find the reception awful!
Would a replacement work for a sat nav/radio/media head unit screen that just shows 'no signal' and doesn't respond to the control unit?
If you mean a aftermarket screen, like Pioneer or another, make. It wouldn’t work, because the service history is now kept on the screens, and if you change it to a aftermarket double din screen, you will lose all that information plus you won’t be able to reset the tyres 🛞
No it's not any of those it's the original system that came with the car. I've had it from new with no modifications. So do you think it could work?
Do you offer full chrome delete service and if so how do I contact you about getting it done?
Hi Rich, we can but that’s why I do the videos so you can see what you need to do.
@@TheOfficialMiniGuy what would you charge for a full conversion lights, beltline, door, handles, grill, badges etc.
1:58 T20 Torx screws. Mini does not use T15. You can use a T15 screwdriver on a T20 screw, but you will wear out your screwdriver and eventually the screw will get worn out as well.
Mine keeps on rebooting itself, I took it for a system update at bmw and it’s off completely now, is it just the screen that’s the problem or the part behind it?
Part behind
But if BMW have played with it it’s now there problem
I’m just going to buy a new head unit, I was just wondering weather I need the screen or the bigger part that you didn’t take out in this video
It’s the bigger part behind
But it's cheaper to buy new screen from eBay 😅
Thanks mate I appreciate the feedback. I will always look into the options… if there is one on EBay get it 👊🏻💯
