Ahem!!! :-) Watch the brakes on a fixed jokes. As a 65 year old, that regularly rides fixed, and has two functioning brakes.... well, how many people do you know that are riding fixed at 65 ? Just saying.
I think it's only natural that most people pick up something like riding fixed in their teens or twens. Riding fixed wasn't really a thing from the 60s - 80s, so that's probably why there aren't that many people above a certain age who ride fixed or have ever ridden fixed. It's also something that's mostly done by people who see cycling not just as a recrational pastime, but an actual means to get from point A to point B in everday life. This approach is quite uncommon for people born before 1980, at least in my expierence. If they cycle at all, they either do it as a sport (usually either moutainbiking or road cycling) or they ride some crappy trekking or dutch bike as an alternative to talking a walk, usually extremely slowly and on the sidewalk. How did you end up riding fixed?
I'm a roadie and one of my riding buddies is 69. He rides fixed gear in about 70% of his riding. He also uses two functioning brakes. He says it's more fun to ride than his two road bikes and his mountain bike. He rides an older Cannondale by the way.

I don’t know if anyone else does this but first thing I look at is the welds on the headset and seat tube area, if a company takes the time to buff down the welds and make a seamless looking frame, they’ve probably taken the time to make sure the geometry is correct and final product is something worth producing and selling, I’ve noticed some high end companies fixie riders adore have an awful finished product appearance (cinelli for example)
I have a cinelli vigorelli and I must say that the welds are smoothed down and look on point. This is one aspect I did look for and I’m pleased with their frame build. 🙂🙂

Sure I had to do a full checkup, regrease some stuff ... But it really rides great and I have already put 1500km in it in 3 months (and I have another main bike). It kinda makes me really critical of any lower end bike I could get for more money :)
because of this video i bought a tsunami bike. I didn't get the well geared one as in the video but a shittier one fitted with cheap components so I can replace.
