      @@julianyoung7335 thanks! We have a 67 as well, but it is pretty rusty and missing a lot of parts. Would take a heck of a lot to get it going again. We hope to get the 72 driving here real soon and get another video out, hopefully by next Friday! Thanks again!

    As for the continuing to run after the key is turned off is a common issue an why they added the gulp valve to flood the intake with air. Some remove the ign light bulb to prevent backfeed power from the fuel pump I believe. Looks like a fun project

    • @DownSouthRustyClassics
      @DownSouthRustyClassics  19 дней назад

      Thanks!! I think on this one it might be because the key switch is in pieces and we have to use a screwdriver to turn it on and off and it wasn’t turned fully to the off position. Will be replacing it with a new ignition switch soon.

    I'm sure you know this but the temp and fuel gauges are run by a small voltage regulator under the dash. It fails a lot; both of them being pegged low may be an indication it's toast. GREAT JOB getting it running. I expected to see you struggling to get and keep it running with compression so low on 3 pots, but the valves quickly came around.

    • @DownSouthRustyClassics
      @DownSouthRustyClassics  5 месяцев назад

      Thanks! Yeah, I was really surprised also. I still can’t believe it immediately fired up on the first try, and then the valves seated themselves very quickly. We will definitely be checking out the voltage regulator to see if that’s the issue. Right now we’re having all kinds of issues with the clutch and brakes. Thanks!

    If that B is a low rust car it is well worth getting it going mechanically and doll her up a bit. Be a nice driver. Maybe could sell it to fund other projects. Good find.

      @@robj2704 only real rust is a few areas in the floor pans, and some in the trunk floor. The sills and quarter panels are solid! We are definitely going to get her going as a driver and clean her up. Not sure what our long-term plans are with her but for now we just want to get her on the road and enjoy her! Thanks!

    Step One for Resurrections: Ensure the crankcase has the correct amount of oil. If it is low, add more. It is easier to find the leaks when there is oil available to leak.

    • @DownSouthRustyClassics
      @DownSouthRustyClassics  5 месяцев назад +1

      @@justinschroder6094 absolutely! That’s why checking the oil is the very first thing we did! It’s a British car, so if it’s not leaking oil, that means there’s none in it! Lol!

      @@jesseburkhart7845 sacrilege!!! Lol! Would make it a heck of a lot easier to drop an LS into it though. Of course the floor would have to be channeled as it’s a subframe car, which would add a ton of work to it and make it difficult to fit the seats into it which are already pretty much laying on the floor. Would be an interesting project though! Thanks brother!
