  • I apologize for the weird notification sounds! OBS was capturing my desktop sound.
I discuss Gloam, a campaign setting with Victorian/Colonial aesthetic and Cthulhu monstrosities. Grab a flintlock, climb aboard a dirigible, and explore a world doomed to end. #My30DayWorld

*Day 14:* How safe is it to travel in your world?
It is extremely dangerous. Strangers are generally assumed to be hostile, much of the wildlife is fiercely territorial, most of the planet is an irradiated hellscape, blasting winds and extreme temperatures are common, there's no telling what might bleed in from other planes, even the air in many regions is a toxic, choking, corrosive miasma.
*Day 13:* Who dominates the political spheres of your world?
I came up with the phrase "dragon riders of the steppe" and had to work it in somewhere. The dragon riders of the steppe are a nomadic civilization who run a vast, sprawling trade network spanning an entire continent - similar to the Silk Road in the real world.
*Day 12:* What iconic monsters exist in your world?
Ambush predators like mimics and ropers, elementals, maybe some cosmic beings like angels, possibly some twisted Lovecraftian horrors; there might be some undead, animate objects are common, and there are *A LOT* of golems.
*Day 11:* Who opposes evil and injustice in your world?
No one - with all life as we know it extinct, it's effectively a post-morality world.
*Day 10:* Which faction in your world is feared and reviled?
The various cults that worship the precursors as gods
*Day 9:* What is the cosmology of your world? Other planes?
The precursors had a post-singularity civilization. Demiplanes, derelict satellites, and wreckage of ancient starships are fairly easy to find, though whether those ships can still function is dubious at best. There's also a plane called Imaginary Space - or simply i-space - that's similar to 3e D&D's Plane of Shadow.
    *Day 8:* What's your world's biggest secret?
The precursor war was more than a billion years ago.
*Day 7:* How common are adventurers and heroes in your world?
"Heroes" are rare and generally regarded with contempt if not outright disgust. As for "adventurers", it depends on your definition. Exploration is generally seen as unnecessary, even though most of the surviving maps are so out of date even the geography is no longer accurate, and anything someone might make a pilgrimage to is probably best avoided - but most of the population are nomadic, with the exceptions of those living either along sea shores and river bed or in mountainous regions where they've developed methods of irrigation.
*Day 6:* How prevalent is magic? Where does it come from?
There's no distinction between magic and technology - and precursor technology is extremely common.
*Day 5:* What event in your world altered its history?
The precursors fought a war that ended in the extinction of all life as we know it.
*Day 4:* Who is the most renowned hero in your world?
"The precursors saw themselves as heroes, and we all know what became of them. We have no use for such ideals."
*Day 3:* Who is the most nefarious villain in your world?
Taking the question as written, the precursors - but the precursors are all extinct. The biggest threat is the environment, the world itself, and the biggest threat within the environment is a place called The Land of No.
*Day 2:* What is the name of your world? Why is it called this?
"Ambition's Price", because its current state is the result of the precursors' hubris
*Day 1:* What is the 30-second elevator pitch for your world?
    [still under revision]

Very awesome. I plan on another land in my world coming up soon, and I wanted something different for the feel. So I plan on using some of these themes. The relationship between magic and the government, making it illegal. I think it’s interesting :) love your videos by the way!
