Good job dude👍 BMX is tons of fun. I am 53. I raced BMX from 1986 - 2000. I'm buying another BMX (cruiser) and coming back in 2024. It's in the blood, and I miss it horribly. I have regular dreams of riding in the missing 23 years. 👍🤟🇨🇦🇺🇲
Right on man! I've been having a blast! Wish I could've started sooner, but I'm out there now. This has been one of the best experiences of my life and hope to have many more years of it. Good luck to ya in 2024! Keep it fun!
This is AWESOME. Proud of you for getting out there and getting some laps in. Races always feel different than practice, but if you're smiling then you are doing it right. Keep getting it man.
Nice job! The other guys in 46-50x could potentially have over 40 years experience racing. Keep it up! Bmx has a way of teaching riders that it’s not about who wins it’s about doing your best.
Awesome job brother. Even though you didn't win you did an amazing job. Hope you and Mrs Nova had an amazing Thanksgiving. Keep the content coming. Hope you have an incredible weekend. Much love and RESPECT
I took my daughter's to race for their first time and I raced too. Its be 30 years since my last race! I had a blast just being out there and having fun at 41! My youngest 3 soon to be 4 won 2nd place in the stryder class! Keep getting man and have fun!
Its a start. Its a jounery to get back in shape. Im 53 and been an SE rider all my life. Ive gone through 4 bikes through the decades and i still have them all except for my first Quadangle 20. That one got stolen, my second 20 that replaced my first almost got stolen. My other 2 are cruisers. Im planning to move to Rancho Santa Fe. The have a pump track there and the neighborhood is a Republican stronghold. Its an all around win for me. I hope to see you at the races one day.
That’s awesome ! First and last time I was on the track, my second time around the track, at the start, I was trying to go balls to the walls, and on the first just I fell so damn hard, I almost broke my shoulder. Hahahah!! I was 48! I’m itching to do it again, but this time , train correctly before I go all out
@JudahTribe-lt3ur nothing wrong with taking your time, build skills and enjoy the process. That's what I've done and I've loved every minute of it. Get back out there and have fun!
Great job man, proud of ya! Sooo I’ve been growing my hair since covid with the intention of donating it for cancer victims or whatever they do with it. The wife is asking when it’s getting cut? I said after I do a BMX race. She immediately looked up the local track schedule saying “they’re racing this weekend!” So I looked it up, it’s a gold cup qualifier! I don’t even have number plates yet!😂
Dang, too bad i don't live closer to SC! I would definitely be down for joining in though I'm just a year shy of your age bracket....45. Do you need a certain spec bmx? I bought a Mirraco a few years back.
Sorry I missed your comment! Man, it would be awesome to have someone to ride and race with! You'd have to have either a 20" wheel or 24" wheel bike to race.
Cruisers are more stable and less twitchy, so starting on one isn't a bad idea. Just keep in mind you'll have to run a 20" when you move up to intermediate. But, take your time and enjoy the process and just being out there.
@@BackyardBMX73 Got to ride a 24" monza today, and it's confirmed to me that I want a 20"er after I tried a Sunday also. The leverage makes a big difference.
This is so cool. I'm 49 (almost 50), rode an '84 Schwinn Predator Team Comp bike back in the day and it was awesome. Question for ya: how much does it cost to enter one of those races?
Cool bike! First practice is free at any USA BMX track, so you can try it out and see if you like it. If you do, USA BMX membership is $80 per year. Practice and race fees can vary depending on the track, but ours is $5 for practice nights and $10 per district race. State, Gold Cup and National races are more with National being the highest. I'd suggest finding your nearest track and checking it out on a practice night. They should have loaner bikes for you to use. Then, go to a race day and see what it's all about. Don't be hesitant to ask questions. The staff and local riders should have all the answers for ya. Let me know how it goes and thanks for watching!
@@BackyardBMX73 it's a nice bike. My buddy had one growing up. The nostalgia of those old bikes like elf, auburn, Robinson and my ol gt interceptor is nice to remember.
