Really appreciate your comment, it makes the hours I spent re-editing this video after it was already finished to make it as good as possible for viewers worth it 👍

What a great car… I bought a 97 540i sport (6speed is what intrigued me) . 2owner 90,000 mile Oxford green metallic and beige interior for 3000$. Was really impressed with all aspects so I found a 2000 m5 6 years ago for cheap and it feels like a race version of the my 540. That’s my intro into late 90s bmws. I was shocked with the m5 oil consumption 1qt every 200 miles . After a tune up and some high rpm highway runs followed by early oil changes with liquiMoly 10/60 it’s now a qt very 1200 miles which I’m
Ok with because of the early ring design which I’m told is less aggressive on cylinder wall wear due to less spring pressure …Now there’s a 91 850i in rare 6speed added to my fleet. Looks great but doesn’t have the same driver engagement as the e39s .

Thank you so much for this video! I’m considering an e39 M5 and the section on common issues mirrors a lot of what I’m reading on the enthusiast forums. Nice to hear that the S62 is (overall) reliable. 👍🏼
