That wow-developer with the book mentions how Karazhan was the first raid they did and an experimentation ground and like the model for all the raids to come. They liked the idea of climbing a tower. It was remade many times. The crypts got sacked. The guy was on classicast, I believe.
Yeah, he basically said that the crypts were a very early dungeon/raid that got scrapped, and from then on it was more or less just a place for the programmers to play around with textures and whatnot since it wasn't going to be used. IIRC, they were surprised it got left in the game at all.
I love these videos! I’ve been craving to be immersed in the world but unfortunately have been unable to play wow for quite a while. These videos bring good feelings and make me feel like I’m in the world again. Thank you and please keep the series going!
Hey everyone, so glad that some of you guys enjoy this type of video..please share with me which zone you would like to see next and I will get around to it :D Only a few more months till Classic guys - cant wait!!
nice videos, I love them! one of my favourite zones of all times is Un Goro, but I'd like to see more of Burning Steppes, Searing Gorge or Badlands too
The crypts of Kara could only be entered via glitches and hacks until Legion when it was opened up originally for the affliction warlock artifact skins then later for the puzzle mount. There are fish that can only be caught in deadwind pass but they are kind of pointless. The Tower of Karazhan was originally for the nobles of Duskwood until they tried to cheat the dark riders who were after the Scythe of Elune which had been hidden in the forest, the riders then killed off most of the people. Mediv came along much later because he was drawn to the area because of the convergence of the ley lines under the tower, which is also why Prince Malchezar was trying to use it as a portal during BC.
I'm pretty sure that, at one time, there were quests in Deadwind Pass that tasked you to go into an underground area beneath the town...an area packed with ghouls and wraiths Then again, I could be having a 60's flashback. Cool video, Kargoz.
I remember playing on a private server where they did their own little event during Halloween inside the Karazhan Crypts. It was decorated and had some NPCs and repeatable quests there. Only much later when I tried retail did I learn this area to be inaccessable and otherwise mostly empty.
Yes! I love these kind of videos. Your pick of zones is awesome as well, as these are not so popular, so learning about them is cool! Keep it up! And please, do one for Azshara in the future ^^
While I know people like the PVE guides (as do I, literally one of the most informative wow vids ive ever seen.) I still really appreciate these zone safaris. Please continue with these!!!
Love this series! Cool to learn more about the zones you visit. Usually I just run around trying to find quests to do or herb/mine and not appriciate the zone. I'd like to see a video on Dustwallow marsh or feralas. Zones that I personally don't know too much about, but Alcaz island and Isle of dread looks very interesting. Would you also perhaps make a playlist featuring all the safari videos? Keep up the great work!
Really wish they had implemented Karazhan in Vanilla. I always liked the zone so much, and the whole 'Wizards Tower' really does have that classic fantasy feel.
Yeah Deadwind Pass always interested with it's ominous vibe like you said. I recently took a detour into Deadwind and man is it cool/eerie! I always think the the Karazhan crypts when I think of the zone especially the upside-down sinners in the crypts!
I believe that the camp that you were talking about was retconned in Legion to be used by the Deadwind Riders you go there as part of multiple quests to acquire multiple artifacts that the Deadwind Riders have stolen over the years. You search for clues, get attacked by a Deadwind rider, go to some underground catacombs, use some spells to get around some obstacles, fight your way to the Deadwind rider that has the artifact and kill him to acquire it
Kargoz yeah it’s awesome the first time second time interesting third time and on you’re just going through the motions. While it was nice that they used the old world for the Legion artifact quests I do wish they didn’t reuse some of the quests for some of the artifacts though I know why they did
I started playing WoW in when TBC was launched and being a Human player when I ran into this zone for the first time it really made me want to explore this area. Skulled NPCs, dark empty areas. I jumped into the river and swam my way down to Karazhan. Only to agro ghosts outside of kara and killed. I was just a kid at the time and made my way as a ghost through the crypt doors. Fully explored that area and found that sinners room all on my own. Truly scared the socks off me. Love the zone exploration videos. Reminds me why I loved getting parts of the map explored even if I wasnt the right level lol.
I love the classic fantasy style in Vanilla. The sci-fi twist the lore took in TBC was a real bummer for me. Space goats, the Naaru and the void.... ew!!! Thank god we got wotlk before they focused on space ship battles in later expansions etc.
Well it's called world of warcraft and the warcraft lore starts as sci fi way before you get any fantasy elements. I for one really enjoy the contrast between azeroth and outland
I agree with nrw, while I prefer classic fantasy over sci-fi it's nice to have the contrast between the two. However, there's this itsy bitsy part of me that hopes Blizzard will provide unique patches to Classic and I'm sincerely hoping they stay away from Outland. Keeping players on Azeroth is huge for the community.
Love these vids man, I'm super fucking pumped for classic! I remember reading about how the crypts were meant to be some kinda dungeon in vanilla (or tbc?), but that could've been pure speculation on a forum or something
Thanks for another exploration video, I love these! I remember my first time in Deadwind pass, as a low level running around and exploring. Still gives me that same creepy feeling. And if you're taking any requests, I'd love to see a video on Feralas! That's always been my favorite zone. :)
I know you recommended planning out and preparing for everything such as leveling zones when classic goes live, but I really think for my first character back I am going to be really taking my time and exploring every nook and cranny of the zones and reading all quests and lore and so on. This stuff is too good to rush. I haven't played on any of the private servers up until this point so it's been years since I've seen any of these. Also agree with you about Karazhan, it's probably my favourite raid as well. It was so well done and had so many cool mechanics and features in it and it absolutely nailed the atmosphere. Also it was a small enough raid size that you could really get into it more with your group.
indeed, they are great. One of the things I love about Classic WoW is how they managed to make the game so amazingly atmospheric with so little hardware power.
I'd love to see more zones which were different before the Cataclysm. For example Thousand Needles, Western Plaguelands or Hillsbrad Foothills/Alterac Mountains :)
I wish that they would use that feature that you can use in places like tirisfal glades after BFA, and the blasted lands after WOD for those zones. I would love to go back and see the old zones.
Well I know they planned on adding part of crypts to Karaand decided not to. So my guess is the crypts were probably designed to be a part of the raid.
i think a very cool thing for blizzard to do here was to add like 1 or 2 questions only, something terrifying to add more mystery to the zone itself. I like the
The reason the zone of karazhan was there was because blizzard had initially planned to release vanilla and the burning Crusade is one whole expansion altogether but they were under a time crunch and it was a huge feat of manpower and hours to get the game done and they couldn’t get it done so they just released vanilla as it was. Then they decided to have what they couldn’t finish added on as an expansion pack later on
You don't want to take much of our time. Dud if I had important things to do i wouldn't be watching RUclips, i wanted to see more!!! Now i will have to explore this place by myself.
The difference between classic and all other versions is that back then places like this could exist. The zone is not incomplete. Its not missing anything. Its perfect. Theres nothing there except vultures because nothing other than vultures can survive. And once you ball up and go in to see what its about you quickly get the feeling that something truly evil has set up shop. And in the absence of an ingame model for said evil the mind runs wild. Add to that there being no quests, vendors or flightpath means theres no other players around and you start to feel like youre alone in a place youre really not supposed to be. No one will hear you scream. These days blizzard wont put a rock in the ocean without stuffing it with quests, dailies, collectible pets, and a rare murloc that drops an ugly hat that shoots lasers when you fart. And a flightpath. And a cutscene. Oh oh... And some kind of currency forcing everyone to visit the site every 6 hours.
Ok Kargoz, I know this is off topic but do you remember how the old numbers I think in wrath and before then used to pop up on your screen? For some reason the damage changed the way that it was presented changed. the numbers in wrath almost like popped and shook once they hit your screen and they were spread out evenly and the way they showed up as crits with abilities and with white crits. asmongold did a video on this as well. I hope the old number look comes back in classic. Let me know if you or anyone else is already aware of this, if not we need to blast the forums and all social media. Numbers do change how the game feels when you play it it goes hand in hand in immersion. Thanks as always dude.
Westfall next! Huge nostalgia zone not just for me, but many (due to the amount of people who picked human). A zone many found their guild, or long time friends in.
At 10:53 when kargoz says "this is cool, man" I thought he would mention the shadow of the kid in the middle of the chapel. Did anyone else notice it?
That wow-developer with the book mentions how Karazhan was the first raid they did and an experimentation ground and like the model for all the raids to come. They liked the idea of climbing a tower. It was remade many times. The crypts got sacked. The guy was on classicast, I believe.

I vote for Azshara : )
thousand needles would be a good one - I bet a lot of people don't even know what it used to look like
I know it's big but I really do love The Barrens :) I've leveled so many characters there :)
The Upside Down Sinners is a reference to a room in Big Trouble in little China, "The hell of the upside-down sinners"
The crypts of Kara could only be entered via glitches and hacks until Legion when it was opened up originally for the affliction warlock artifact skins then later for the puzzle mount. Baneleaf wow thanks for sharing dude that is awesome
If you go to Zul'Gurub in classic client and fly over mountains to Deadwing Pass, you'll see alternative version of the map.
I'm pretty sure that, at one time, there were quests in Deadwind Pass that tasked you to go into an underground area beneath the town...an area packed with ghouls and wraiths
Then again, I could be having a 60's flashback.
Cool video, Kargoz.
Indeed, they are Karazhan's prequests in TBC
I remember playing on a private server where they did their own little event during Halloween inside the Karazhan Crypts. It was decorated and had some NPCs and repeatable quests there. Only much later when I tried retail did I learn this area to be inaccessable and otherwise mostly empty.

Duskwood is like posting spooky memes and when you enter Deadwind Pass it turnes into creepy pasta and cursed images with Earthbound music.
Exactly

Exploration video’s are awesome. I have a weak spot for them ;)
indeed, they are great. One of the things I love about Classic WoW is how they managed to make the game so amazingly atmospheric with so little hardware power.
Deadwind is one of the best farming zones in classic. I made so much gold off those vultures.
I'd love to see more zones which were different before the Cataclysm. For example Thousand Needles, Western Plaguelands or Hillsbrad Foothills/Alterac Mountains :)

Here's hoping Blizz will actually improve on classic, maybe even expand it!
Vanilla weather effects are the pinnacle of ASMR
These videos are my favourite on your channel. Would love to see some Plaguelands, or some very conventional zones like The Barrens or Tirisfal Glades
The sign at the entrance says "abandon hope, all he who enter here" which is a reference to Dante's Inferno

Anyone else see the ghost in the chapel at 10:51???
Have you read the WoW Chronicles as sources? Because those are really awesome for anyone who's interested in lore
The crypts were used for karazhan attunement eventually right
Love this series man. Love you probably more since my first toon was a hunter, killing rogues at will😅😅 would love to see stonetalon mountains.
You don't want to take much of our time. Dud if I had important things to do i wouldn't be watching RUclips, i wanted to see more!!! Now i will have to explore this place by myself.
Hello man, will you be making more of those PVE guides? I watched the hunter one even though I know I wont be playing hunter on classic :P
hey man thanks for your inquiry. Yes I plan to make them for all classes z_Z lots of work ahead haha
@@kargozgaming Nice man! :) Youre my favorite classic content creator
@@dOdAdEish I've heard there's a Resto Shaman one in the works.

Привет от русского комьюнити. Мы тебя любим.
10:35 - is that a ghost?
Karazhan isn't really classic fantasy. The last boss is legit an alien.
Creepy as fuck. Almost Dark Souls-like.
Make the video about Duskwood please!
