This is cool for learning how current works, but it'll just work for low power consumption units + you lose on conversion. 40w is way too low, if your power bank could supply that, but most probably it'll be limited to 2A therefore 24W, which is probably good as with more it might overheat.
For more power still on budget I'd probably go with one some 4S UAV batteries -> some board protection -> car charger -> car inverter.
I skipped the board protection and replaced with a fuse in my project, as I needed a portable car charger for my drone, which draws more than ~80W, no issues, but I could damage the batteries if used with something else, as the drone charger will cut off at a voltage way above battery depletion, by design discharge protection.
This is by no means good for learning only if you like electric shock from that stupid converter.. very dangerous
Why go USB-C Boosted to 20V then go down to 12V DC just to create AC again? There is a single soldering bridge on the pd-faker board to go 15V and then just run that to the inverter board it will work flawlessly and will open up more power banks as not every reaches the 20V boosted while high efficency 🙂

What is the maximum watts and you forgot to mention that because it's a modified sine wave it's not suitable for electronic devices that can be damaged without a pure sine wave. Why just make a video without giving specific information. It's about more than views, it's about education.

Should be around 35W.
The output of the board is DC at a very high, unregulated frequency and not a constant voltage output, it‘s a royer oscillator circuit. It will only work on lamps (not all), phone chargers and anything else that has a rectifier anyways or is purely resistive.

I was planning so i was searching to make a tiny inverter then I thought using a dummy battery with Powerbank and a step up booster module is a far more practical and convenient method just one has to remember the polarity and lock the voltage potentiometer in the step up module...

Going 500W 12V Sinwave DC/AC converter makes no sense as Power-Delivery-USB-C has a Wattage limit and then you have subtract efficency so you can only get lower Power in total

with true skill he would have recognized the solder bridge for 15V on his USB-C Dummy board and then left out the DC/DC Stepdown for more efficency

You need power bank with usb pd 100w (20v 5A) regular usb 5v 2.4A is not enough (Only 10w)

You don't need this thing for wifi modem. Search for cable USB-C to 12 V. Or to 9V (check the power supply for your router for exact voltage).

@@BrainHurricanes because at 12V, 18/36W can be delivered and at 20V, 40-100W can be delivered.
None of these kind of circuits actually work. And if they work, they are not efficient to use over the long term.
This one definitely does because he‘s utilizing the USB PD protocol to get a higher voltage than 5V from the power bank (probably 20V) and is stepping it down to 12V. The thing at the end is a royer oscillator, which is pretty inefficient and also puts out a unregulated voltage and frequency.
This makes the circuit useless for most purposes, if not all, because (almost) anything this can drive would also work with the PD anyways.

There is nothing wrong with it apart from there is no ground connection but that isn't that big of a issue as this board can only supply 40 watts anyway
