    I'm so sorry they haven't tried to find you any kind of relief. Flexeril has helped me get restful sleep, at least so far gabapentin has helped with the burning feeling in my feet. I haven't found anything but cannabis to help with the daily pain so I self medicate with that becauseas we all know even a little relief makes all the difference sometimes.I only got those medications because my doctor was sick, and I saw the nurse practicaner. Thankfully, the doctor let me continue on them. My doctor has no knowledge or interest in learning about fibromyalgia for 6 years she just kept telling me my job was to blame . I live in a rural area so i don't have a choice of doctor .Thank you for your videos. Some days, they are my lifeline and remind me I'm not alone.

    Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) has been a game changer for my body pain. I get it compounded and take it sublingual. I'm at 3mg daily. The only side effect I have is drowsiness so I just take it at bedtime. It's been about a year since I started it. It doesn't help with my fatigue.

    Your story is the same as mine! Nothing works, Doctors just say to me your going to have to learn to live with it, you’ll have good and bad days!
    Ok so the pain is driving me mad and my body and brain needs help… doctors, sorry we can’t help you. 🤨
    And specialists won’t even talk to you 😒
    Thanks for this we’re not alone in this, try to have a good day💜

      We’ve been on mostly the same meds and they all failed to do anything other than pack more weight on. If it’s legal where you are medical cannabis works quite well for me. I also take Cyclobenzaprine for spasms and Seroquel for sleep. I no longer have insomnia and getting quality sleep seems key, as soon as I started the Seroquel there was a major shift. After years of resistance I also started an exercise program, start low and go slow. The only way out of the pain is to work through it. I started walking 5 minutes a day years ago and am now doing water aerobics 5 - 6 days a week. I still have issues but have regained enough Quality of Life to be engaged in life again. I wish you all light, love and a good night’s rest! 😊

      I've been taking gabapentin for over four years. I was at 1800mg daily for three years. It did nothing for the pain, I slowly weaned off briefly so I could enjoy alcohol for my cruise last year. I'm now at 2700 and it works better for nerve pain. I've had no real side effects, rather it makes me happier overall. I'm still in the process of wondering if I have a rare neurological problem on to of fibro.

    I've been prescribed the Gabapentin, Amitriptyline, Buspar, Duloxetine, none have worked. I'm still suffering daily, for 20 years. Honestly, years ago, in the 1990s, was prescribed, by a pain management surgeon, morphine. But with today's illegal drug crisis, the people that honestly need pain meds cannot get them. So I still suffer, my age is 55, female. I feel hopeless most days.

      Exactly! Friend gave me 2 percocets which took away pain and I could sleep a full nite. For 4 months docters would only prescribe tylonol which does nothing. Same with Volteran. Every night is a battle and lucky if I get 2 hrs. a night which is tearing my body and mind down. Really stupid doctors can't prescribe a regulated drug that will take away pain, help you sleep, and live a normal life. Caused thousands to go to the streets and many have died because of fentanyl.

    There are so many symptoms of Fibro, to the point of whether is it Fibro or is it something else? Amitriptyline is one of the meds I take before bedtime. I like to call it Am I Trippin. LOL This medication eases my hip pain so I can sleep. I can't be patted or grabbed. I poke myself to see if it still hurts. Spoiler Alert! It does. The symptom that bugs me the most, is dry mouth. itchy eyes, and brain fog. However, I have to keep a back scratcher near me to scratch those places on my back that I can't reach. The dry mouth is the worst for me. I have to keep water or some other drink with me at all times. If I don't have those available, I have tic-tacs or gum in my purse.

    • @kimponte6234
      @kimponte6234 Год назад +1

      You should be checked for Sjogren’s if you’re experiencing serious dry mouth and eyes. It’s an autoimmune disorder, some Fibro patients seem to collect them. If you have thyroid issues make sure they check your antibody level in addition to TSH. If your antibody level is too high it means you probably have Hashimoto’s, another autoimmune disorder.

    Amitriptyline did nothing for my fibro, I gained 10 pds I cant lose. Nothing ive tried helps the pain. Im on antidepressants. Which helps the depression and anxiety. I have diabetes and on a low carb diet which does help my fibro to some degree. But im never pain free. I take Tylenol or benadryl for itching at night. I was diagnosed in 1995 at 29 yrs old. Some days I function orther days I dont. I talk to a therapist twice a month to help me cope. I havnt worked at all in 18 years. If you have a support group in your area ( I don't) you could try that.

    I was a cannabis consumer before fibromyalgia. It took about 8 months to get a prescription for Cymbalta. Very helpful. I could move without pain. In less than two years, I've maxed out the dosage. Cannabis is my go to for coping with boredom, muscle stiffness and I take aspirin for all other pain. That is , until my tummy gets messed up. Honestly, the antiinflammatory diet has been very helpful for gut issues and I have a bit more energy.

    • @kimponte6234
      @kimponte6234 Год назад

      NSAIDS gave me chronic kidney disease. Stopping them and drinking 90% water and lots of it for 4-5 years and I’m back to testing normal. Your early instincts were right on, medical cannabis has anti inflammatory properties. Cannabis affects Fibro pain differently than Big Pharma, it actually gives decent relief. I have been using that and water based exercise to help keep my pain levels mostly managed. Cymbalta, Lyrica and Gabapentin all came with weight gain and made me as smart as a stone, they were also a problem tapering off them. The worst drug I ever was given was Trazodone. I have forgotten years of my life as a result. Gabapentin inhibits the formation of new synapses in the brain. Western medicine has been failing the Fibromyalgia patient community since the eighties, no surprise there.

    James do you have "tender trigger points"? I have none but my pain sporadic all over my body which can be burning,stabbing,dull etc. Recently my practice nurse said it was "strange" I didn't. Fatigue is main issue. I see folk getting B12 infections for this. What's your thoughts? Cheers 😊

      I was just diagnosed however, on a waitlist for a rheumatologist but in the main time B12 gives me a boost of energy. The only downfall for me is that it causes me to go a night or so without any sleep so imagine that when due to FM I sometimes cannot sleep.

    As in reading the comments I noticed not to people try Pregablin (Lyrica) and Savella is it there. I personally after trying all these other meds listed below, that Lyrica,Amtriptyline and some Tizanidine works really well. Also take some ashwagandha,B12&6.. Smoke a lil too .. fr fr . And try aquatic therapy. We all are survivors of consistent generalized pain. I've been in pharmacy 20 yrs and have recently had to give my career up. But I'm strong I'm grateful and I have Glambabies that bring me so much joy &love. God bless you all. ❤❤❤❤❤

  • @artanddebearickson9729
    @artanddebearickson9729 Год назад +1

    I think you should join a fibromyalgia support group , you will find thousands of people online that have a story to tell you. Then you will have your answers ,but a warning if you do. You will probably become depressed and angry to read the stories of people who have had it for decades. Being told over and over again that you are the problem by medical people doesn't help anyone. I have had it 21 years , i realize it starts in your brain but that doesnt make my body stop going through the cycle of overwhelming pain and hardly any sleep. Eventually I will have had enough of being sick .

    Well I've been trying to deal with this for a very long time. I have been from max daily dose of gabapentin and numerous other drugs to cymbalta, ibuprofen, anti-anxiety, muscle relaxer, And medical marijuana. But I live very rural and my PCP doesn't believe in my fibro dx and wants to run expensive tests for lung cancer. I need a new PCP. Stress is exacerbating my flares😢

    Don't take this the wrong way, I'd never wish fibro on anyone, but I'm glad there are some men suffering with fibromyalgia. Because women's bodies are always in some flux of hormones, etc, doctors are accustomed to dismissing us too quickly IMO. Hopefully, men suffering with this will get this condition taken more seriously.
