King, as a Jersey guy I must say you are the best that we have to share with RUclips and the global food community. I absolutely look forward to every video that you post. Thank you for sharing yourself and your meals with all of us!
Yeah, you’re goated, bro. I’m in Hackensack. I didn’t know about for the love of grub. I didn’t know about the fat bastards pizza that I ordered yesterday you’ve given me little specific things that I can enjoy and I know I won’t waste my money for that you’re easily the goat
I'm a retired coast to coast truck driver & the dinners in NY & NJ are THE BEST in this whole country. The Breads & Bagels are better to. Maybe you might do a video on Bagel shops ? Love your content.
the problem with many diners is they think "oh we're a diner, that means we need to have a HUGE menu." This results in them oversupplying to accommodate their large menu, resulting in either resorting to low quality ingredients or freezing everything for months. Sometimes less is more. When a restaurant has a large menu....it's a huge red flag.
Didn't Diners always have big menus though? I know a lot of the items were kinda similar but running 24 hours and serving all three meals you kinda have to have a bigger menu. I do think they've had trouble adapting in the era of the delivery apps. There's just way more competition in general these days.
Brother you hit the nail on the head with the sports take, I've been a supporter of Tottenham for YEARS, we haven't won anything since 2008, but its so true that if you let the frustration become annoyance or anger of such a menial thing, then it'll affect everything you do.
As a fellow New Jerseyan (Bergen County 🙌🏻) I agree about Suburban. Definitely one of my go to’s. My other go to is Gotham City Diner … there’s one in Ridgefield and one in Fair Lawn. I say yes to a diner series in 2025!!!! Diner food is a league of its own.
Living in Texas we don't have a lot of diners. But we have a lot of Small business Restaurants with soul food, bbq, TexMex, Indian, Jamaican, mostly Caribbean or Latin American foods. So I would love to see a diner series on your channel. Also 70 for all that damn.
Man that all looks good! If you ever catch yourself in Hammond Louisiana, you gotta go to Lee’s dinner. Been a staple in Hammond for over 100 years. Some of the best dinner food and shakes you’ll ever eat. Keep at it bro
yo I live for these videos😂, so simple, and honest! I’ve been watching since b4 100k. It isn’t like anything else, once people start growing they think they have to do these big videos, and it’s just not where it’s at.
big agree, Diners are not meant to be Michelin Star Restaurants, it's Simple Food that's Delicious. the saying "Keep It Simple, Stupid." is an understatement in this context.
I love diner food ❤. Ketchup only belongs on French fries and hash browns lol. I love your insight discussion at the end. I always agree with you 💯. Stay blessed 🙏
Some spreads you share on the channel just hit different. This was one of them, I wanted all of this in my belly by the end of this video. Real talk, King should be on New Jerseys PR team. I feel like he makes more people want to move to this state than anyone else and its not even close.
@@KingSchratz Oddly enough, the diners out in West NJ that border PA will often serve Scrapple. I do agree it's mainly a South Jersey, Philly Suburb thing.
Sadly, between the pandemic and now Uber eats DoorDash, etc. diners are becoming obsolete. Very few are open for 24 hours. With that said, I love a turkey triple-decker, disco fries, usually brown gravy and American cheese and a roast turkey platter. (Not all st once) 😆 Ngl that Taylor ham egg and cheese burger is dead ass. ! 👊🏼. Chit Chat Diner is nice but pricey. Out of convenience, I go to Coach when it hits
I used to think Chit Chat diner was really good. I'm starting to think ever since they made some changes to the menu, the quality hasn't been on point.....and I agree, with those prices, it doesn't help much.
We call them Coney Islands in Michigan. The food is good and not as highly priced as regular restaurants. A coney dog is at each one, a hot dog with chili sauce and mustard.
I'm from Jersey and I never heard of disco fries but after leaving the disco I usually went home to bed. I was happy when I found taylor ham here in Georgia at Publix.
Agree about chit chat. For me I thought it was the pricing only that was turning me off but now I wouldn't mind tolerating it if only the quality of the food remained great.
Jersey diner home fries/hash browns are completely undefeated, I will not hear arguments. Grew up in south Jersey, currently in NC and I miss them so much
Former Diner owner here. Everyone uses Trenton Pork Roll no matter if you call it pork roll or Taylor ham. Actual “Taylor Ham” brand is too expensive. Try my cousins spot in Lyndhurst. The Colonial Diner
looks like a Lime Meringue.. Key lime has condensed milk on a graham cracker crust with a little fresh Whipped cream.. I made one yesterday.. it was delish..
Please do more diner videos. Also, I agree.... I used to be able to get a goood breakfast or something and a coffee for under 10. I'm in Chicago and the closest one to me is at least 18 for the same shit. Anyways, love your videos. Do more non fast food vidz yo!
Boulevard Diner is the best diner I’ve ever had .. right on the Fairview/ North Bergen Border! Best chicken parm I’ve ever had! Better than any famous expensive Italian restaurants I’ve been to in Hoboken and NYC.. their chicken parm is ode bro lmao it’s made to order fresh! The pasta it comes with is ehhh it’s ok but the chicken and mozzarella? Mannnnnn A1 quality! Me and my fiancé travel a lot trust me this the one
I'm in Bergen County as well. A Diner I used to order pretty regularly from at one point was Chillers Grill. Have you reviewed that one? I haven't ate from there in a while but it was good last I remember.
You are so right about diners not being what they used to be. If you haven't already, consider checking out these smaller local spots that don't try to do too much and so tend to do it better than most diners: Jackie's Grillette (Little Falls and Montclair), The Love of Grub (Clifton), and Cyndia's (Totowa).
I don’t think it’s just a Jersey thing, it’s an East Coast thing. The DC Metro area had a ton of diners with a similar type of menu. Diners are also big in my hometown of Cleveland, OH.
Always went to a dinner with the fam that was a couple of bucks more than most however everything was always fresh, hot, and seasoned well. Also a good server who if you ask whats good they help focus the menu on whats a specialty vs the random stuff on the menu
I always find it strange when people are fans of only winning clubs. My cousins were like that. One sec they were fans of one set of teams that made consecutive playoff runs and then when they sucked, they switched over to another set of teams.
The Scotchwood Diner, in Scotch Plains, on Rt. 22 East, used to be great. Now it’s ok. The Westfield Diner is pretty good. They’ve all fallen off, for sure. Their downfall began when they started calling themselves diner-restaurants.
@leolamonica The first diner in America was Walter Scott's horse-drawn lunch wagon in Providence, Rhode Island in 1872. Scott's wagon was parked outside newspaper offices and offered quick, affordable meals to the working class. The wagon had windows on each side, making it the first diner with walk-up service.
@@KingSchratz Shame on me. Try it again King. I've been before and after remodel and it was slamming. Maybe they had off night. I recommend the cheesesteak egg rolls fr. Love the content keep it up.

I’ll never forget the burger patty video when you wanted a cheesesteak 😂.
That was WILD. That and the full head of broccoli at the other diner are my two most egregious ones.😂

Super Bowl night has the most incidents of DV. It’s a verdict on society, some people are so invested in sports or silly topics on social media.

Definitely looking for more diner vids!
