In this video, I'm sharing the process of a type of image I wanted to explore. An endless white space type of render where you focus completely on the building.
The trick about getting a great result is MASKS!

Very beautiful composition!
Great video again!
Can't wait to use this style in my next project :D
Very nice tutorial!
Great workflow thanks
Thanks for this video!
Thank you so much! You have no idea how easy tutorial makes gloss over the Finetuning steps, but never properly explain their ways. This helps so much, definitely coming back to this video multiple times in the future!
Thank you for the feedback, Jip!🙌
Excellent video!
o mais brabo, apenas
love it😍
Good video, good place you have!
Like ever , good choose and toutorial . 🤩🤘🏼
Thanks, Hosein! 😀
You’re account is amazing
Love this style! Thanks for sharing.
Winter is here, maybe a snowy image-tutorial next time ;) ?
Winter is here only for the northern hemisphere 😅 here where I'm at, we're getting into summer ☀️😄
But a snowy image seems interesting!
@@LearnUpstairs my bad, I’m sorry. greetings from GER to BR
Aprendi tanto com vc Oliver! Seus cursos me ajudaram muito no meu trabalho aqui nos EUA. Um abraço
Obrigado, Roberto O! Fico muito feliz em receber um feedback desse, fez meu dia! Grande abraço
Thanks
Sempre mandando bem!
Grande abraço Oliver
Valeu, Vitor! Grande abraço 😀
If I'm not mistaken, V-ray does have the Atmosphere Render element. So if you render once with that enabled, and then another without it, you'll have a base image and then the atmosphere overlaid on top for other purposes
That's really good to know! I'm always learning new stuff in the comments. Thanks for letting me know that, I'll look more into it
@@LearnUpstairs Awesome! always love your content! keep up the good work!
nice
That style looks really good!
Recreating a portfolio from scratch would be great
Thank Matías! I'll make sure that it's on the list for future videos then
@@LearnUpstairs você é brasileiro? Sabia que escutava um sotaque, mas não reconhecia de onde.
@@-r6419 Oi Rebeca, sou brasileiro sim!
I'd be really interested in seeing you redo a portfolio!
It's coming! 🙌
Hello Oliver!
I'm actually doing the same exercise right now and I noticed that instead of creating individual reflections or transparencies for the trees to be seen behind the glass (I was creating masks and changing their opacities one by one), you simply made the polycarbonate glass "transparent" in photoshop. Could you tell me how you did that? I don't get it from the tutorial. Thank you for your efforts!
Você e brasileiro? canal top ! parabéns!
Круто!
I was going to say to shoot two images, one with fog and the other without fog but with the layers. But I don't know how much the render took you, in Blender this kind of result in renders will be in no time, like 3min render or even less if later you are going to change almost everything in PS. I also don't use fog, I think is better to apply it in post, because fog increases render times tremendously. If it fits you, Blender has 2 render engines built in: "Cycles" is like Vray (physically based rendering engine) and the other one "Eevee" is instant, real-time rendering engine. If you like fog, you'll love Eevee, instant foggy and bloomy renders, check it out out there. It will blow your mind. And the best part: IS FREE and open source. FOREEVEEEER.
excuse me, is there a possibility to find this folder for the trees? thank you if you can share
How do you do quick massing options
It really depends on the project I guess... I just ordered this book "Siteless: 1001 Building Forms" on Amazon, and I'm looking forward to seeing if the title makes any sense. But maybe that could help you. Regardless of that, for me, coming up with design concepts and massing options is a matter of taking a look at tons of reference projects and studying all the site parameters, characteristics, and surroundings.
How do you do masking this quick at the begining?
Hey Deep Blue, hold Ctrl and click on the Layer Thumbnail of the Render Element. That will select all the content inside it, and since that particular channel didn't have a sky, it simply selected everything but the sky. Just note that it didn't solve everything, as the mask wasn't really perfect. But it's a good start nonetheless.

Hey there! I have done this stuff in the past but it didn’t work well. So unfortunately I don’t allow my videos to be republished somewhere else.
I hope you understand. Thanks!
@@LearnUpstairs It doesn't matter. I understand. I will continue to support your video.
Can you add the Arabic language in captions?
