this is awesome mary. in my area i don't see too many birds like this. i don't even know if these big birds are in ks. i just recently learned pelicans come to ks. 55 years here and never saw one until a couple of years ago driving on a dam at a lake. a story about sea gulls. i was living in salt lake city. we would go to a park called sugar house park. it had a small lake and bbq grills, play equipment and walking paths etc. we would take a young kids there to do bbqs sometimes. once we were cooking and a sea gull swooped down and too whatever it was we were cooking straight off the grill. one swallowed a chicken bone and it was sideways in it's throat. he was still flying around looking for more food too. we had to swat them away like flies. lol
