Brad Pitt recently has said that he may suffer from face blindness. He hasn't been officially tested, but it has been estimated that up to 2.5 percent of people suffer from prosopagnosia (face blindness). What is Prosopagnosia and the different types of face blindness, what causes it, how do you test for it, and if there are any treatments for face blindness.

After getting anesthesia during an appendectomy I woke up like this. I can't recognize new people's faces anymore.😢 it is weird and frustrating.

As a nurse, I had a 70 year old patient that explained to me that she couldn’t recognize faces, and only knew me by my voice and my name badge color. Normally in public, it would be jacket color. Etc.
I explained to her what that was and she didn’t even know it was an actually diagnosis.
She always felt unintelligent growing up and different.
Of course I asked further questions before I came to this conclusion.

Yeah. I think I have this because whenever I see someone I barely recognize them. I can tell if they’re happy excited sad angry and stuff yet, I can’t recognize people always, and I’ve always had a great memory..

I have self-diagosed myself since it explains so much. I can recognize people I knew decades ago, but have trouble recognizing people I have met within the last 30 years. I can't hold the features in my memory after they leave my presence.

I don’t think I have exactly this problem, because they found nothing worth mentioning on my brain scan, but my ability to recognise and recall faces dropped off a cliff in the last couple of years, since my ongoing MDD episode started.

I can recognize faces im looking at just fine, but the second i turn away i cannot remember or in any way picture any face in my head, not even my own. I can remember everything else just fine, but if i want to imagine a face in ny head, theres jusr nothing there. Even while writing this comment i have no idea what i or anyone i know looks like, unless i look at then irl
