I had this procedure 3 weeks ago and it has been a total disaster. The surgeon entered the GSV at my ankle and a second incision above my knee. My ankle and shin are now numb and very painful with a constant burning pain and additional intense stabbing electric shock like pains. The inner thigh area is also painful and swollen. I had no pain before the "treatment". I would not recommend this procedure.
I had VNUS done almost 3 weeks ago, only 1 incision 4 inches above the ankle with the catheter inserted all the way up to groin- 1 leg. Pain started 2 weeks after procedure so became concerned as I was not aware this was normal. Below the incision, about the size of a silver dollar, it feels like a very bad sunburn- numb/tingly/painful all together (like the feeling when your foot falls asleep + being burned by a hot surface). In addition, there is a painful ache just below the skin along the entire length of the now dead vein. So this is normal and can last for a few months up to 6 months- according to info online. I wish I was told this beforehand as I would have skipped this procedure. It's not a debilitating pain, but it sure is an annoying as hell pain, all day and night.
@@guillenonato8124 The pain is gone but I'm still numb under under the incision/entry spot above my ankle. The numb area covers about a 2" x 2" area. The procedure did nothing for what I went in for and ended up wasting insurance money and my money that could have been saved for future medical bills.
