As a Chelsea fan, Tuchels style of play is awful and unwatchable for me anyways.

It does matter what fans want. I'd argue that it's largely the fans' fault that Man United's issues have lasted for this long. The same issues have persisted through all of the managers that have been at the club since SAF left, and all of those issues related to incompetent team building, entitled and underperforming players, and the declining infrastructure of the club itself have been ignored while the club has turned into a revolving door for managers to be scapegoated.
Clearly, post SAF Manchester United have repeatedly opted for the cheapest, most simple solution to these issues. Fans tend to boil all issues down to the manager, which is convenient for a club board that's willing to appease fans by sacking the manager, rather than admitting that the issues run much deeper.
The guy can't handle the pressure of big clubs, chelsea was a fluke new manger vibes, why they won champions league, look what happened following season. If United is looking for consistency, Tuchel is not it. With both Chelsea and Bayern media and critiques ate him up, you could see it got to him.
He's a nervous wreck, the cracks show when he's under pressure. Uniteds on another level of pressure, unlike any other club in the world, they're always headlines no matter the road they are on. Backwards move for United.
