I have been asked to work a night shift which I don’t usually do so I decided to go up in the loft and see if I can install my old copy of Return to Castle Wolfenstein just in case it turns out to be a quiet shift. I was having trouble getting it to work and your video certainly helped I also managed to install my old saved games that still work. Thank you very much this may help with the boredom of being indoors due to the coronavirus thank you.

For people who still got the OpenGL error after applying the patch:
Delete GL DLL files in the game directory OR download this fix [www.moddb.com/games/return-to-castle-wolfenstein/downloads/rtcw-opengl-error-fix] and copy the file in the game directory. Just tested both methods, works like a charm.

It now opens but how do I set the resolution to fit the screen? None of my resolution options fits my monitor - the game appears too big or too small compared to the monitors borders.

Guys! I found a new method. You do not need to download anything, i dont know if this works for steam and stuff but i know it works for cd. (it might be the same thing). All you have to do is simply right click on the game on your desktop and click run as administrator. It works perfectly fine, cheats work, i can play through the whole game without any problems!

It worked but when I changed the resolution settings it crashed again and now I have the same problem even with the download in the right folder. Can you help ?
I uninstalled the whole game and the download that you have to add and then did everything over again it worked but it clitched out between missions not during gameplay though.

go to wolfconfig in the game folder, scroll down till you will find, sript for fullscreen. It should type 1, you have to change that to 0.

This is still happening to me even after reinstalling the game and doing the overwrite.
go to wolf config in the game folder, open it and scroll down to find a script that says "fullscreen mode" "1" change the number 1 to 0, and then try it

when you are in the game folder click the folder that says >Main

once you are in the game. Can you click on system ? If you can than click on video mode until you find your own preference, but is has to say WS at the end. For example I use >1600*900 WS

Wenn ich den Patch reinlade startet das Spiel, aber in der rechten hälfte vom Bildschirm bleibt der Desktop und das lässt sich nicht ändern. (Spiel wurde schon deinstalliert und neu gedownloadet, hilft nichts)

what if you dont have the game for steam. instead you have it as a disk
Does not make any difference. the folder in which your game is installed will look exactly same like that one on steam.
Also, in both cases you have it on your disk. Steam is not an extra super disk, steam only shows you the instalation folder. Thats why i showed it with steam.
