So sad for you. I have just found you on RUclips so am very glad you are going to continue that. I live in the US so attending your school was not an option. Take a breath and give your baby a hug and go forward.
I'm in the states so I never got a chance to visit your shop but I've been following your journey since the pandemic, when I first learned how to sew. Thank you so much for all your contributions to this community and I'm so sorry for this enormous loss. 💜 Here's to whatever comes next for you and your family.
I am so sorry to hear this as I did love popping into your shop when I was in the area. I admire what you did teaching sewing and creating such a lovely community. I look forward to seeing your tutorials. My parents live in Marnhull hence I found out about you in the beginning! Good luck for the future.
I am delighted you will be offering your valuable videos. I couldn’t pop into your shop living in the US. Closing your shop is bittersweet. At 63, I found Motherhood is just the best. So chin up my dear, the best is just beginning for you and your family. I will keep watching those incredible videos!
Sad to hear this but wishing you the best of luck in your future in whatever you choose to do ❤ I will keep watching your videos and enjoy and learn from them so thank you very much ❤
Being in NZ I never got to visit the physical shop or have lessons, but I watched your RUclips channel for years before you started the school and am looking forward to seeing what new videos you have planned. I enjoyed both your tutorial style ones and the more chatty ones.
So sorry to hear your news Sophia. I have followed you since before you opened the sewing school. I live quite a long way away from Dorset but intended to visit you when I was in the area. Sadly this is not to be now. I wish you all the best for the future. You have to do what is best for your family and I think you will be a success whatever you put your mind to. Looking forward to your future productions on You Tube xx
Oh boy. I'm so sorry that your sewing school has to end, but I completely understand. I have been watching your videos for many years. I look forward to seeing what you do next! Keep your chin up and just keep going.
All the best with your new plans. I shall keep watching your RUclips content as you are a natural in front of the camera and present your videos very professionally. I hope you see growth in that area and it helps to soften the blow of the loss of you shop/ school, keep positive. A thumbs up from me!😁
So sorry to hear about your physical shop, a very tough decision to make but sounds as if it is the right decision. Looking forward to seeing you here.
I’m sorry to hear that your shop hasn’t worked out but it sounds like you had lots of positives come out of the experience of running a sewing business. I’m sure you’ll be a success with online content again. I used to watch you years ago and am happy you are back. I recently started posting to my sewing channel after a year off so I understand how it is coming back. ❤
Beautiful Sophia my heart breaks with you hearing this news. I know how much of your life force went into this beautiful mission and destination for all things craft. When I sold Beauxoxo I felt the same waves of grief that you’re experiencing now but i promise this will expand your mission in ways you didn’t even know were possible. Sending you love and support every step of the way ❤. So incredibly proud of you and for all that is to come in this next chapter xoxo
So sorry to hear this. I remember your videos when you and your family were working so hard to get the school up and running. Really tough times and it’s affecting so many people. Best of luck to you in the future.
You certainly should be proud of what you achieved in 5 years and you will go on to achieve more. Thanks for all you have done for the sewing community and I look forward to your new ventures x
Sophia, I am so sorry that you are having to make these changes. I learned how to make the Sew House Seven trousers from you and I will forever love that beautiful coral linen that you chose to make yours. I also learned tons of tips and tricks from you as well. Even though I haven't always commented here, you have been one of my go to people for learning when I first started sewing. Due to geographical issues some of us couldn't physically come to your shop, but we really supported you and we'll continue to support you in your future endeavors. Much love and support to you dear sewing friend.
Me too, I felt brave enough to make the Sew House 7 trousers after watching your tutorial although mine were in navy instead of that gorgeous coral colour. Best wishes for your future sewing journey Sophia and enjoy your little one, they don’t stay little for long xxx
What a loss for you, after all your hard work. But hey! When life gets better, and it will, you can give it another go maybe tweaking the model you used. Good luck with this next step
You know, even on a sad and bittersweet day, you are still a delight to watch and listen too. I think you can add motivational speaker along with stand up for a side gig. As the song goes, "there's always tomorrow for dreams to come true". At some point in time your son will no longer be a distraction and an anchor for you at the school and will become an inspiration and a sail. Maybe at that time you can do sewing school 2.0. I'm sure you have a better idea of what works and what is a waste of time now, than when you first started your school. I think you have grown and matured immensely over the years. I hope people realize as a small business owner you are the last person that gets paid. For me, and I imagine a lot of others, this works out better for us. I'll never get to see you in person face to face but now I'll be rewarded with additional RUclips time. Take care and enjoy your home time toddlers grow up way to fast.
I'm sending all of my love to you. It must be a weird sensation - being sad, but also being proud of everything you and the people surrounding you achieved. It's brave to start your own business... but it also takes bravery to decide when it's not the right thing anymore. Beautiful while it lasted. Hopefully, as time goes by and you grieve over this loss, you can delight in the wonderful moments the sewing school provided. Lots of hugs to you and the staff
I wish you and your family and staff the very best. I feel like I’m a member of your teaching community although I live on the other side of the world. You are a smart woman and I know you will land on your feet! XOX
So sad to hear your dream has had to be put on hold but transitioning into something else. We are going through the same with my daughter’s business not due to financial but ill health. It’s heartbreaking though it was so much her dream. The things that made us strong were our lovely customers who’ve been so kind even offering to help me in the shop and sort out all the dismantling etc. you realise there are very kind and lovely people out there. I am afraid I’ve never had the benefit of your classes etc but have followed you on RUclips for a long time now and will continue to do so. Thank you for sharing like you say it’s making that final decision is so hard. Looking for to next week’s RUclips video or whenever you can. 😊
Thank you Wendy. And I'm sorry to hear tough times for you and your family also. But you are right, things happen for a reason and there's always good people around you to pick you back up. Here's to the future! x
I have the greatest respect and admiration for you Sophia! I watched the transformation of your new school from it's inception and I remember thinking to myself, how I wish I'd had that kind of vision and creativity and drive when I was that age. You can be so proud of yourself as I am of you and all of your endeavours. Wishing you the very best heading down the new road. xx
Sophia this is sad, but you’re right it is something to be very proud of yourself and you will succeed in whatever you pursue because you work hard. I’m sorry I wasn’t able to support you more. Lots of love and hugs Cheryl
Aww thank you so much Cheryl. And please don't be sorry. It's a tricky time for everyone. I just hope we were there at the right times for when people wanted us. x
Sorry to hear your news but 5 years is an achievement you and your team should be justifiably proud of. Glad you have made new plans and look forward to seeing your future videos. ❤️
Hello Sofia. I have only just discovered your channel and just wanted to wish you all the very best for your future. I will be following you on RUclips and adding you to my favourites. Take care. 🌺🌹
So sad to hear this but know you’ll do amazing things moving forward. I live by the sewing school and it’s been an amazing resource and community hub for me and so many others ❤ thank you so much for all you’ve done so far
You have done so well in very difficult world circumstances. It’s very sad the school is closing but finances are difficult worldwide. I’m sure many good things are in your future. Congratulations on your baby boy. ❤
Heartbreaking for you but things were stacked against you. I only discovered you latterly but have loved your online content. Lots of positives to look forwards to though.. here’s to the future on line. Well done for all you achieved and good luck for future. X
Sophia such a hard video for you to do and to watch - I have shed a tear. It is so sad that the physical shop and school is closing but remember as one door closes another opens. I have learnt from you and love to visit the shop but you will still be there online. You are so talented and such a lovely person I wish you every success with your future plans. I would love the opportunity to learn free motion and wondered whether this is something you could cover online? Stay strong and focused- I will still follow you online. Much love Andrea x
So sorry to hear this news. It seems to be happening a lot, in Australia it’s big building companies and small coffee shops effected with post covid and inflation. Looking forward to your Patreon venture, and will keep an eye out for updates. Enjoy the time with your baby, they grow and have left home, it seems ,in the blink of an eye ,Bridget ❤
I'm so sorry that it has come to this for you and your family Sophia, I thought this might be happening when you did the video about more videos and teaching through RUclips. I know what it's like to have to stop a business but at the same time you did make the dream come true and what's to say that maybe someday in the future when your little one is older and if the world ever goes back to pre pandemic prices maybe you can do it again. Whatever you do I know you will be successful. I'm not sad that you will be doing more videos though. Hugs from America
