    Does FT keep track of in-memory items such as database cache and CPU register content and keep all that in sync? That must use a ton of network bandwidth as it would need to basically run as fast as the cpu itself to keep transactional consistent.

      Yes Ron,
      FT is very CPU and Network Intensive operation to keep both Primary and Secondary VM in sync. That's the reason, this feature should be enabled only on Mission Critical VMs.
      You can check out this checklist documentation for FT.

      Thanks Gugan
      Yes, we had provided basic overview of HA and FT but there is lot happens in backend for ex, Architectural details, heartbeat mechanism, Master-Slave election, Host isolation, Admission control etc....
      We cover all these details in our vSphere Deep-Dive Program so feel free to reach out to us if you have passion to learn in such depth and we would help you to learn technology in-depth.

      If 2 servers down, the 3rd single server will take all VMs??

    Hi Sir, One question - what happens if Vcenter goes down, would HA or FT still work?

    • @ayansinha9215
      @ayansinha9215 Год назад

      HA is not dependent on vcentre server - its a native feature of the vmkernel

      Hi Sagar
      HA will continue to work if vCenter Server goes down but you won't be able to make any config changes because Management Plane (vCenter) is down.
      we hope it clarifies your doubt.
