I love my two Tai Pan Knives from Cold Steel. The served me well in Iraq and Afghanistan years ago, and I keep them handy today. One thing I would like to point out, depending on the environment and where you have your knives on your kit (particularly in the desert) the Kydex sheath could get loose on you. Easy way to fix that is fold a towel into a nice thich square big enough to contain the sheath. Have another one folded and off to the side and similar size square of plywood beside it. Put the sheath in the oven at around 400F and check it after about 5 mins to see if it's softening up and once it get soft enough to be pliable, put on some gloves, remove the soft sheath from the oven, put the knife in the sheath (you won't ruin the temper at that temperature) put it on the first towel, lay the second towel on top of the knife/sheath combo, put the plywood on top of that and press down with as much of your body weight as you can. Under the pressure of your body weight the warm kydex sheath will form more tightly around the knife. Keep the weight on for a few minutes and once the sheath is cooled around the knife the sheath will be good to go again
I like the havoc best. Handles being long makes a blade harder to carry & don't personally need all that extra handle. My palm is only 4 1/2 in across anyways.
I checked their website. Great knives, my favorite is "Hidden Anger" what a beauty! Love combat knives and love dubbel edged. They need to do the job and they need to do it well.
It’s a thick ass knife.. not a firearm it can’t jam. Sharp, thick piece of steel vs human steel wins no matter the origin. Do appreciate made in America don’t get me wrong just making a point.
Thanks for this! I love double edged fighting knives and would love to see you discuss these knives more! I keep one handy in places where I consider a possible attack could be more "committed" to cause harm, like my home, where I may reasonably need a weapon more strictly dedicated to combat. I seldom take it out due to having to (in California) wear it openly on my belt. Which doesn't bother me but does seem to want to attract attention from those ironically frightened by the sight of people following the law. On hike or camping I would carry it, but more likely my Gerber Strongarm or similar, as a more general combat knife with good field application.
Bud,I'll tell you what I own a couple of takumitak blades including the silver one there. These blades are made very well and durable. I love them. Awesome video bud😊
I love double edged knives. If they weren’t so highly regulated, I would carry one every day. But even though I can’t carry them, I still have a collection. As you said, they’re just cool and I’m drawn to them. Plus if things ever get crazy out in the world, there’s no knife I’d rather have available to me.
Thanks for the review. I always carry at least one fixed double edged blade, among others. The double edge is only for self defense and nothing else. The other knives fulfill the role of everyday tasks.
Well, I would not mind carrying a double edged knife, but unfortunately they are not legal here. However, so far I made it through life with the single edge knives I own.
I just got the demko armiger 4 spear point . Not a full double edged knife . But seems like something you'd like . I like it but it's slightly small for my hand xl to XXL gloves if your like a large probably love it
I got two tops modern gladius blades coming today. I always wanted one and seen Amazon finally got them in stock so I grabbed two. I like my daggers, the tops ice dagger is good to go and way better than the Crkt sting I originally got many years ago.
Takumitak makes a great knife! I have the hitter and I really like that reach factor in it's handle. VERY versatile. It's slim profile makes it very stealthy and easy to carry! I have several Takumitak knives but now it looks like I'm going to give that Havoc a second look!!! Great video too btw...
I like the havoc, handle is shaped so hand doesnt slide up or back. I do not like handles too long because I find it slips in my hand, rather have my grip locked into a pocket. personal protection for me.. can they horizontal carry?
Bud I'll tell what.i don't know what planet takumitak came from but I'm glad they're here lol😅😅 I have 4 different blades and love all of them. Keep up your great videos and stay safe. 😊
I'm a big Cold Steel fan from 30 years ago. If I saw these in a knife case I would definitely be looking at the price tag. Many times I merely glance at other knives and I'm not interested. I don't like their looks. The fat all the way down tang is a big draw to me. They look aerodynamic in emergencies. Good review. ❤
Once again you've given us a solid video. Thankyou. Where its made means little to me, quality and price these days are more important. Having said that im not a fan of the dagger style except for a boot knife. Also if you have to defend your actions in court it's easier to justify a camp knife or utility knife. Theres really only one reason to carry a dagger style. I would be interested in seeing there other models. Once again thanks for a good video.
I think the Havoc is the one I would pick. Nice looking knife actually they both are. 👍 I'm glad it has the guard to hinder hand forward movement thus slicing off my hand and having to get a prosthetic and look like the Terminator. 🤔 I really over thought that one I think. 😂 Thank you for the review very helpful. 😎✌️
When it comes to the double edged blade I’m a BIG fan because of how difficult it is to get it out of the hand. To clarify if you go to grab my wrist to control my blade hand I can easily take the backside of the knife to my attackers wrist. Imagine holding a Sharpie instead of a double edged blade and then someone trying to control that blade arm. The other person is getting marked up. Heavily.
I have a lot of double edged blades. Daggers, I have always liked them. They may be a bit more dangerous than knives that have a spine. Because that double edge feature allows that kind of knife to cut both ways to Sunday. People forget when handling them. I know I have and as a result suffered a few cuts and small stab wounds. Most Dagger style knives tend to be thin, made that way for easy penetration. But I do like those blades that are wider and thicker. I have a Todd Begg BG031, a Boker Magnum Dagger, a couple of Boker Boar Daggers, a couple of Cold Steel Chaos Daggers and a few others that are in the eight inch long category with wide, thicker blades. Then there are the middle of the road Daggers like the John Ek, EK-44 model. Not as long, a bit thinner but still quite wide. And then you have the thin bladed Daggers like the V-42, the Fairbairn/Sykes knife and others. I really like the look of these TAKUMITAK Knives. They really appeal to me. Not a brand that I have heard of before. I Thank You for introducing these fine blades to your audience. These are two blades I am very interested in adding to my collection.
@@411Outdoors exactly. It might fit my deceased step dad's hand, he had huge hands, but no one else I know. I like the design of both knives otherwise. Thanks for responding.

Might have to replace my counter tac with one of these. Nicer steel, seems like a way better sheath. New to the channel, 2nd video in, hitting the subscribe button.

My opinion is that these are killer's knives. That's why they r forbidden in many countries. They r far 2 dangerous for daily use. Nobody is buying them unless they r either super passionate collectors or have some dirty jobs 2 do....
Don't mean to be mean. But I still have not been convinced to trust my life on a Chinese made knife. They look good but I'm more of a spiderco knife guy.
Understandable. Though it would do one good to remember that the Chinese were forging steel when our ancestors here in the west were still using bronze. Yes there are lots of cheap junk products that come out of China but they also have really well made stuff too. Its all about which company one goes with & which product line one is looking at b/c many of them make multiple diff levels of quality.
Lol, the Chinese have been making steel a lot longer than America. I like RUclips for the ability to watch reviews. If I can't find a few reviews of a knife, I generally stay away. Your money your choice, though, and I respect that 💯.
