Slightly off topic, but I saw a WMG on TV Tropes that said that Raava intentionally froze Aang alive for 100 years. Over nearly 10K years of experience of living with humans has probably given Raava the knowledge that the typical human lifespan (after getting past infancy) is around 60-80 years. Knowing that Harmonic Convergence was only around 170 years away, Raava realized that, if Aang lived a typical lifespan, the Avatar who would fight Vaatu would either be too elderly or too young to have been discovered to fight a powerful enemy. Since Kyoshi was the exception, the Avatar spirit saw that she needed another Kyoshi and made Aang live “longer” (she slightly overestimated Aang’s lifespan but probably encouraged Korra to bend 3 elements before she was old enough to enter kindergarten to hasten the Avatar discovery process)

I agree! The only that kept me watching TLOK were the flashbacks of the original Team Avatar and we STILL didn't get enough information about what happened to them all. It was very disappointing.
The most common theory I've seen regarding avatar age is it's using the Avatar State. In this theory, being the Avatar allows you to live longer, but using the Avatar State is very taxing on your body. Kyoshi was shown to be pretty strong without the AS, and extremely strong with it. It's possible she never needed it as much as Aang, and so died at a very old age. Guess that means that Korra is screwed though. Her Spirit Guide Animal could probably make it to 30, maybe she could too? Of course, it was just a mistake from the writers who instead of retconning it, just rolled with it and said it was due to a badass factor.
They are connected spiritually and I believe that just as it is the case with dogs (where they can sometimes die of heart break if their owner dies), it is also the case between Appa and Aang. I suspect that if the writers would explore this as canon, they would show Aang passing and then the camera would zoom in on one of Appa's eyes as it too closes slowly - concluding Aang's and Appa's saga. This would be a truly heart breaking moment. Hell, I almost cried writing this.
Cesar then the avatar is gonna take away your bending lol Its strange since my real life name is Cesar... and I have a friend that has the same name... also my brother had a friend named Cesar... and I have a cousin that I barely know also named Cesar... The name just made me realized wtf.

Im more interested as to how Appa managed to save his species while being the only one left, like what kinda chick did he get to make the skybisons seen in Legend of korra?
What happened to Appa? He died when Aang did. They were bound spiritually, like Roku and Fang. ... I like to think that he passed at the same time as Aang, he was sad enough during "Appa's lost days" just being away from him, he would be one depressed bison knowing that Aang was dead.
I'm surprised you didn't touch on the reason on why aang died. I assume you know but for people reading who don't know, aang's life energy was greatly depleted after spending 100 years in the avatar state. Thus making his life a lot shorter.
The bison weren’t going extinct remeber when Korra landed on the shore and there were a ton of bison and she goes “we have been raising these bison since the 100 year war”
They where in fact going extinct those bison are a subspecies and their was only a small herd left that aang was forced to rehabilitate into rideable bison

Hello Future Me I thought your opening skit was really funny, that's exactly how I feel about my siblings sometimes too. I think you deserve heaps of subscribers, your awesome. You make great videos. I predict great things in your future. And all hail Mishka!
Your question sounds oddly like a threat... But my dream death is jumping from a plane and having the chute fail.... Because by the time I was done panicking it would be over....
My question: If Appa was the last sky bison, then how were there many many more bison is The Legend of Korra??? Even if Appa was actually a female, there'd still have to be another bison to mate with. So where did all the others come from??? Because I thought Sozin wiped them out, and the Gaang didn't see any others on their travels to the Air Temples.
If you watched the Second season you'd know there's was a herd of sky bison was being protected somewhere in the Fire Nation's islands far away from the Fire Nation Capital
Gemini 428 Yes, and no. The species of Appa is extinct, but the islanders rescued a similar species, you can see in their skin patterns. At least, it's what Konietzko said in an interview. It's similar to when European lions went extinct, there are still other kinds of lions, but not the European one.
A huge question I’ve always had with LoK is that there are numerous herds of both wild and domesticated air bison, it’s common knowledge and not a rare sight. But in ATLA we NEVER see or hear of other bison besides Appa, and they travel the entire world! It also stands to reason the fire nation would have attempted to wipe them out along with their masters. It seems very unacknowledged.
I think he's on the spirit world, like all avatars, hopefully with the love of his life, Katara. They might be gone, but in our hearts there's always Appa and team avatar flying to the sunset.
During San Diego Comic-Con, it was revealed that Avatar Aang found a whole new herd of sky bison. The new subspecies has a few differences, for example: old bison had four transversed strips plus the last one, that lies at the end of the tail, whereas the new species has more strips that are thinner. The new bison also have brown fur on their ears instead of white. You may also notice that appa and the bison in the show have different tail markings
If the only differences were some superficial markings, that's pretty damn close to the original. Though who is to say that THOSE bison weren't the original and the Nomad-cultivated herds were the genetic outliers, thanks to selective breeding?
Im a simple man.. if I see an Avatar video, I click. 😄 But for real I love these Avatar videos that you make keep up the great work. 😁 And to answer your question I'd like to die of old age, in my sleep if that's possible.. I don't know I just want to die as "peacefully" as possible if that makes sense.😄
I want to die peacefully in old age under my own statue of enslaving the human race in the name of peace via nuclear hellfire... Just like Gandhi in Civ games... Nothing wrong with that right? *Right?*
Did ravva kill aang? Aang was 66 and died untimely. Ravva knew it was almost time for the fight with vattu. Aang was a powerful fully realized avatar but like roku was slower in age. So ravva needed a younger more agile person..... like a water bender. So she has aang die and is reborn into the southern water tribe and has korra unlock 3 out of 4 elements to advance her avatar training. And by the time vattu is released korra would have the training, speed, and endurance to fight and win.
No, no no no no, this is very unlikely. You know why. Because the only reason vattu escaped was because korra's uncle what's his name (seriously what was his name again) got korra to open the spirit portals to release vattu. And while the portals opening was a good thing rava had no idea about them being opened in the future. To summarise: Vattu only escaped because of the spirit portals being open because of korra's uncle getting her to open them.
Caleb Heinis ravva would still be cautious tho. She's been alive for so long she would have time to think of the ways vattu could escape. Harmonic Convergence could break his cage or a spirit could do something, idk maybe someone tricking the avatar to help the spirits by opening a portal. And mind you ravva had been quiet for so long that not even the avatars knew she existed. Ravva couldn't really make a plan with aang let alone count on him to win with his age. So she took advantage of aangs request for the white lotus to train the new avatar upon discovery and had aang die in his sleep and hope the new avatar will be ready to fight should something happen and vattu were freed
Appa died because aang died and he got sad and let himself pass away to be with aang. My grandmothers dog did the same when we lost her we tried everything to cheer her up but she wouldn’t eat and just let herself go.
hey there, a question i had in mind for a while is how the avatar airbender tattoos work... they are not a part of his body from birth, but they glow when entering the avatar state. any other avatar stated avatar just get glowing eyes. i think it would make a nice video
greekgodst Yes that would be correct, they would have the tattoo's glow. But of course they wouldn't get any because they weren't of airbender heritage.
Caleb Heinis they still can get airbender tattoos. Just as long if they are airbenders and they are willing to do so. In the legend of korra, when random people that dont even have airbender blood got airbending because of harmonic convergence, they still trained to become air and got tattoos.
Can you do a review on Avatar the Last Airbender graphic novels: The Promise, The Search, The Rift, Smoke and Shadow, North and South (in separate videos, one for each graphic novel)

I want to see team avatar as adults. As kids they were such an effective and powerful team. Imagine what could be depicted after years of teamwork and friendship.
But he could not stand to be without Ang and in appa alone there was a flashback that was an saying "I guess this means we will always be together" so I think they died together
I wanted more naga and Korra bonding scenes because the part in atla where appa and aang had been separated took a devastating toll on both of them Even the scene where Korra was taking her first few steps towards naga could have been more emotional
She even left naga behind for like 7 months or more wheb she was supposed to go back to republic city and when they reunited it was like 1 big hug and that was it, clearly they didn't have the same connection
I would die, in a battle where I save nation, riding a dinosaur into certain death against a whole army, where I win, but then die of wounds, and am mourned by said raptor, my family, my descendants, and my idols, while Morgan freeman and Sam Elliot narrative a documentary about me, which is then turned into a movie, where I am played by Chris Pratt. I'm simple that way ;-p
For all those wondering: Aang apparently died at 162 years old. He would have lived longer but remember for the past 100 years, Aang lived in a iceberg, while he was in the iceberg, that drained his energy and growth, so he technically died at 62. But in reality he was 162.
After the Fire Nation's massacare of the Air Nomads, how many sky bison were left? I don't remember seeing any others in TLAB, but by TLK there seems to be a good-sized heard. Apa must have found at least one sky-bison cow.
I mean given the level of technology in Avatar being less than our own, 66 is a pretty decent lifespan. Maybe being the Avatar and very physically fit you'd think Aang would have lived longer, especially with access to waterbending healing from Katara, but his death really wasn't that untimely.
The funny thing is Appa was supposed to be a polar bear dog like Naga when they were spitballing the concept art for the show but they changed him to a flying bison so he would be fit with Aang as an air nomad. The genocide and Aangs death was tough to watch but I don’t even want to think about how Appa passed

I agree! The only that kept me watching TLOK were the flashbacks of the original Team Avatar and we STILL didn't get enough information about what happened to them all. It was very disappointing.
I agree with you :( I feel the same about Sokka.
*Appa isn't the last Sky Bison tho... there's a herald of Sky Bison kept on a Fire Nation colonies so... :)*

Appa wasnt there in Legend of Korra. Dont worry LoK is set in the future

Please do a theory on why avatar kyoshi lived up to be 230 yrs old
The most common theory I've seen regarding avatar age is it's using the Avatar State.
GameDay Tampa Bay very healthy lifestyle.
Weed
Death was obviously scared of Kyoshi
@@dustinlopera655 of course :)

In a perfect world Aang, Appa and Momo would’ve died together.

he died with aang like how the dragon joined roku in his death.
Im still trynna understand why rokus dragon didnt just pick up roku and fly away 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
It was time for the next avatar to be born.
Nope roku was prob 60 years old
Avatars live for a while, way longer than 60 years old
Volcano eruptions are massive. It’s likely he couldn’t clear the blast zone.
@@quinnsinclair7028 He could've, because in Avatar, it showed a past Avatar of the Fire Nation, and he had mastered the Avatar State, and made three volcanoes erupt massively. Roku mastered the Avatar State, so he could've done it easily.
Im still tight Roku didn't just jump on his dragon.
dragongirl37582 he had inhaled too much of the volcano's toxic fumes. Even if he escaped, he still would've died shortly after anyways.
And If he hadn't of died at that EXACT moment, Aang wouldn't have been the Avatar. Because he would've been already born.

Im more interested as to how Appa managed to save his species while being the only one left, like what kinda chick did he get to make the skybisons seen in Legend of korra?
They said they found more skybisons and flying lemurs in a different air temple.
As well as the fire nation had raised a herd in secret ..
PersonalPromises not flying sky bison
In LoK, the Fire Nation kept a hidden herd of Flying Bison
@AgmaDash wtf dude!?
What happened to Appa? He died when Aang did. They were bound spiritually, like Roku and Fang. ... I like to think that he passed at the same time as Aang, he was sad enough during "Appa's lost days" just being away from him, he would be one depressed bison knowing that Aang was dead.
I don't have time to die. Way too busy to pencil that into my schedule.
Phahahhaha
John doe?
I'm surprised you didn't touch on the reason on why aang died. I assume you know but for people reading who don't know, aang's life energy was greatly depleted after spending 100 years in the avatar state. Thus making his life a lot shorter.
His life wasn’t short, he became around 160 years old.
AMBJXRN but only about 60 REAL years of life
The bison weren’t going extinct remeber when Korra landed on the shore and there were a ton of bison and she goes “we have been raising these bison since the 100 year war”
They where in fact going extinct those bison are a subspecies and their was only a small herd left that aang was forced to rehabilitate into rideable bison
Those aren’t the original bisons they are descendants

Because that island is Roku’s home along with many people which he cherished the most
Well, he told Fang to leave cause he was being honorable and don’t want him to get hurt. By the time Fang came back, I guess he already was too far and died

How did momo die
sanguis M
Well, momo was a bat lemur. Lemurs (like most animals of that size class. Cats for instance) have lifespans of around 20 years. So he probably just grew old and passed away long before either Aang or Appa.
Appa ate momo-Sokka
sanguis M Sokka ate him
He was reincarnated as Meelo
The Fossa got'em.
I should clarify - if my maths is correct, then Appa should have died around 153 AG, the same year as Aang did.
Ah, I must have missed that. Thank you.
LinWolf7 after the one hundred year war they finally released them back into the world
Hay maybe apa is a girl but a few days before she was frozen she got pregnant but it takes years for them to give birth

So even Aang’s spirit is dead now 😭
😭😭😭😭😭😭
I think he's on the spirit world, like all avatars, hopefully with the love of his life, Katara. They might be gone, but in our hearts there's always Appa and team avatar flying to the sunset.
koutelis mc I think in season 2 of Kora all of the spirits of passed avatars where destroyed
Ikr, I wish that there was a continuation of the story and then they would somehow still exist

And the earth is a star
how did Appa's family tree continue being the only one left? I may just be missing something but I'm curious
Wow 30k subs. I love how much your audience has expanded. 950K and counting. Best content on RUclips.
Nah, aang & appa’s spirits were one fam, that’s all
Yup they were best friend like brothers
LionWithAGun interesting
Caleb Heinis I think his name was oonalong (no clue how to spell it lol). Good point though
zoomboomashz I remember
Unulak it was.
It is because the tattoo go along the chi paths of an airbender. So let's say if Roku or Korra both got those tattoos it will also glow up. תומר פורת
greekgodst Yes that would be correct, they would have the tattoo's glow. But of course they wouldn't get any because they weren't of airbender heritage.
תומר פורת I remember it being something about his chakra points or whatever.
I think it exposes his chakra points to open air, something only a Master air bender could handle.
Will there be any more of these graphic novels?

I think appa died before aang
But he could not stand to be without Ang and in appa alone there was a flashback that was an saying "I guess this means we will always be together" so I think they died together
I wanted more naga and Korra bonding scenes because the part in atla where appa and aang had been separated took a devastating toll on both of them
Even the scene where Korra was taking her first few steps towards naga could have been more emotional
For all those wondering:
Aang apparently died at 162 years old.

"How would u like to die"
Me: quick and painless😂
I mean given the level of technology in Avatar being less than our own, 66 is a pretty decent lifespan. Maybe being the Avatar and very physically fit you'd think Aang would have lived longer, especially with access to waterbending healing from Katara, but his death really wasn't that untimely.
I'd like to have my consciousness uploaded digitally, simultaneously killing me and making me immortal.
What is dead can never die!
I want to die by being crushed by pugs because at least the last thing I see are derpy pug faces
