This game is a guilty pleasure of mine, I really like this game, and the motion controls, plus the party mode is both underappreciated and underrated.🙂😁
36:59 Today, I learned that Mawde is inevitable. I didn't mention it in my comment on the previous video, but I find it kinda funny how Sonic attacks the final boss here. In most Sonic games where he transforms to fight, he rams himself into the enemy. Here, he directly beats up the boss's still-beating heart like some sort of wild animal. I do believe that is what some would refer to as "metal af".
I was about to type out the whole story, but jeez it was getting a little long… and there was also a moment where I realized I’d have to visibly show y’all how it works….. so honestly, I think I’d be easiest to make a video on it lol. But to give you a nutshell, the Wii couldn’t naturally get into the position to read the disks anymore, so I have to physically put it in that position for it to read the disks and play the games, which is why it looks like… that
I unironically love this game. I actually have 100% it. A lot of the issues don't actually stem from the game itself. Tho it's not very good at explaining what you need to do for the best experience. When this game came out, the Wiimote had no gyro. It had no idea what direction you were moving it. All it knew is when you shook it. For the Wii to see how you're moving it, it requires constant vision of it from the sensor bar. And the Wiimote also doesn't respond well to intense shaking. The game is actually really responsive otherwise. I can't fault the player at the games lack of communication, but poor, unresponsive controls is something this game doesn't have. Unless you think pretty much most games have poor, unresponsive controls...
You should play sonic unleashed but on the ware hog levels you cannot attack the enemy’s, you can only grab and throw them (quick time attacks don’t count)
you know what i just realized? The bowling ball never actually factored into this addendum of the challenge at all somehow... max level sonic is so powerful he made sure that even BALLIN wouldn't stop him
I’m not at all familiar with Secret Rings or how its leveling system actually works, but given how certain stages only give experience the first time, I’d kinda love to see it again with a new twist on it. That specifically being to tie levels to ranks instead of experience and grinding. So, let’s say it came into a new Sonic game with their current take on the letter rankings. When you clear a stage, each letter rank is worth a point, the first time you achieve it or anything higher. So, you clear a stage with an A rank, that’s three points toward your skill level, and replaying only gets you one more if you can get that S rank. So there’s finite points to get and leveling is directly tied to completion.
Black Knight actually does something like this! Albeit, it's not well communicated. Each mission in that game gives you a ranking from 1-5 stars depending on how well you play, and getting a higher star rating gets you more "followers", which are required to unlock more skills and get rarer equipment. It's somewhat understated compared to Secret Rings though, as the skills and equipment are more like minor buffs (or even a few optional debuffs if you wanna add extra challenge) rather than something that can completely change the gamefeel.
@@thenightwriter619 That one I’m familiar with. Would be fun to try and max that out at some point, good excuse to play Black Knight again. Still, grinding is possible there, it’s not the “levels are tied directly to total rank achievement” deal I described.
@@isenokami7810 It isn't? Admittedly Black Knight isn't a game I've played religiously so I'll take your word for it, but I thought it capped the amount of followers you could gain on each mission.
@@thenightwriter619 It does, but you can still grind for them, and in fact it takes a good few runs to cap that out. The system I proposed was purely a milestone deal: your highest ranks in each stage directly translate into experience. If you complete everything with an S rank, that is it, you have all the experience in the game.
@@isenokami7810 Ah, I assumed getting the highest rank was the only way to get the max. For some reason I remember it not giving me more followers if I got the same rank or lower. Must have misrembered, then.

no joke from someone who played the reignited project not slowing down to get a gold will indeed become a habit even when doing missions like don't get damage and stuff
@@mawdewile is fun you have the option of allowing sonic to still move on his own or manually move him. I keep it on autorun, but the challenges are fun, like you actually gotta be fast to build up rings, and destroy enemies to get those gold medals that just doing the objetive fast doesn't cut it for the gold.
@@mawdewile If your wondering it's called Project Reignition but you prob knew that already. It's really fun some missions have remixes. Dino Jungle is the latest stage as of this comment and it's pretty fun.
@@dontwannabeahero1570 Dolphin footage looks like it's running at native res though, not upscaled. The resolution is not the reason the Wii footage looks bad, there's clearly something wrong with the footage. The colours are all messed up.
It’s definitely the Wii being dodgy. Sometimes when I connect it to the El Gato to record, the footage may come out way brighter or way darker than it should be. And a few were even kinda fuzzy. I did the best I could to fix those issues while editing, but, well, some of it still came out a little shoddy. This only happens with the Wii btw. My other consoles don’t have this problem
Good on your Wii for surviving long enough to release a good video. I, too, am currently using my Wii to play Secret Rings (primarily out of spite and vengeance to finally kill this unfinished business for good) though mine is significantly more intact than yours. I got all the Gold Medals, now I've just gotta clean up the rank achievements. Wish me luck!

Hey Mawde if you ever do a pokemon challenge I'd be TOTALLY down to make a Mawile sprite for you.
And yeah, I do read the flavor text.
Please, that would be awesome. I’d love to do a Mawile only challenge at some point
I love watching Mawde rapidly change between types of piranha plant lol its so silly

I wonder what secret rings and black knight would play without the motion control.
The motion controls really isn't an issue except waggling the remote with the pot (that is slightly annoying). Secret rings project fire
