Livingstone Leisure own Flambards. A few years ago they owned a park named Lightwater Valley & did exactly the same to that park removed all thrill rides and then sold it off
@@theBriceSide I used to drive coaches in the Yorkshire/Lancashire area and remember Lightwater Valley. S I watched this video that was exactly what came to my mind :(
@@sarahsyrett3762 I hope they make it work. Cornwall cannot only have beaches to sell to tourists, especially in our dodgy climate :) Historically though, I have seen one attraction after another close year on year down here
I remember as an 8 year old in the early 80s having a week down in Cornwall and the park is still one of my most treasured memories. I think it was called Helston Aero Park back then, we had what looked like an RAF roundel sticker in Dad's Volvo back window that said Helston Aero Park on it. There was a Concorde cockpit to sit in as well as a Shackleton. Plus lots of static aircraft around. My mum and Grandma loved the Flambards section but for me it was all about the aircraft. Spookily, even though all my family on both sides originate from Nottinghamshire, my cousin is the current Leiutentant Commander at Culdrose. [Sorry for the big head, almost name drop there :)]
We all ways used to go to to flambards as a kid and stayed at st Ives its so sad to see it would be so busy u couldn’t move the complete opposite of what you can see here but thanks for the vlog bought bk the memory’s
This is the first of your videos that I’ve seen. Really enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing. What a sad state Flambards is in! Done a few shows there in the past. Looks like a ghost town now. Shame.
Thanks for the watch, appreciate it. Yes, it is sad. Flambards is a great little park. Fingers crossed for the future. We will pop back in next few weeks to check on crowds levels. 👍🏻
19:22 that’s the old bridge that used to be in the illusion museum where the thunder dome now is where the walls move but it feels like it’s the bridge
Sky force is open reportedly but that’s not enough to keep my custom , that tunnel used to be in the recently bulldozed science dome another attraction gone . We’ve got full refunds on our season pass won’t be returning and we’ve been coming via Penzance since 1986
It will end up as another housing estate :( Over the decades we have lost so many attractions down here. Purely from a personal perspective i recall the two model villages at Goonhavern and Aggy, plus the Go Kart place down at Holywell Bay. If I remember rightly, correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Flambards start out as primarily as a display ground for ex military aircraft?
I do agree with you they do need to fill it out more with bigger rides. When I used to go back in 08 and a few year before there was load to but not any more
Sad state of affairs, so many good memories, attending as a kid then joining the team, addition of Gus Honeybun later on and Flambards Roadshow. Fireworks introduced and all that good stuff. Hats off to Commander Hayle and his son James. Knew them quite well. Not what it use to be.
Flambards isn’t what it used to be, I’ve been going for over 35 years since it was an aeropark and I worked back there in 2021 as a ride mechanic, it breaks my heart to see it going down the pan like it is, the people there work so hard, I can’t see a future for the place the way it’s going, will be a sad day when it closes, will be mine and many others childhoods gone 😢
Yes, to the Victorian Village & Britain in the Blitz. We’ve panned the camera a bit around the military museum, but not fully yet. We’ve created a Flambards playlist with every Flambards video in. 👍🏻
I love flambards and to see that there struggling is sad to see i hope they invest in the park and get some rides for all ages because its the only place teenagers can go to have some fun
Sad but I live here the only thing worth salvaging is the village and blitz museum the rest has been destroyed should never got rid of the aero park side will be gone by end of season and sold for housing my opinion
Haven't been to Flambards for 40 years. There wasn't much there then. I thought I read somewhere that it had closed down recently, but obviously not. The whole place is looking very rundown and dirty and it looks like it needs a lot of money spending on it. It's not just Flambards. Everywhere is very quiet in Cornwall at the moment. Haven't had the usual mad influx. The rubbish weather and stupidly rip off accommodation rates have put everyone off. It's quite pleasant if I'm honest. Nobody has any money at the moment. Going to these attractions such as Flambards is a luxury.
Great video keep on vlogging. We also agree that Flambards needs to invest for the future or consider selling up to new owners 🤞 merlin...or at least owners with the same dedication as Camel Creek.
They must do something with this place it’s such a shame as I’ve got so many childhood memories and even in my adult years, they need to spend a good amount of money and time on this place 😢
Very odd isn’t it with the lack off people about so far? Let’s hope they invest in the park and get people back in because it’ll just end up in disrepair then it will close which would be a shame. Such a shame to see isn’t it. 😢
Lucrative scrap metal contract for someone? £14.95 entry for all the reasons you've highlighted is a problem. Is the Victorian street still there or no? I loved that.
Shame cornwall was great 30 years ago, flambards was a great attraction. Now like rest of Cornwall looks tired and rundown. I visted this place myself . As soon as you drive in its like time has stood still nothings been done for 30 years and it shows. Think it will shut down within the year tbh. The victorian village and blitz is worth saving. I did notice buckets around in there,to catch water coming in from roof leaks, thats how much its gone downhill.
Gutted that flambards has removed the thrill rides it's not suitable for teens . really sad now it's more suitable for little ones and the map looks like a right mess
2nd day pizza is the best
You’re right!
Pizza on any day is amazing to eat
sky force is back
We’re going to try and check it out soon. 👍🏻
Livingstone Leisure own Flambards. A few years ago they owned a park named Lightwater Valley & did exactly the same to that park removed all thrill rides and then sold it off
Shameful.
Now Brighton Pier Group are continuing the destruction of Lightwater Valley. We don't bother going anymore. Flamingoland is a much better bet.

Very sad to see. I hope now the local schools have closed and the sun's out, things improve. But it's not looking very positive. 😢

Such a shame. Gone by next year at this rate. Great vlog.
Good vlog, Andrew! Totally agree with you! We've not renewed our seasons pass!
Such a shame. Flambards is in need of help.

Yes, it was called the Cornwall Aero Park. The Hale family founded the park and owned it until they sold it to Livingston Leisure in 2013.
I do agree with you they do need to fill it out more with bigger rides. When I used to go back in 08 and a few year before there was load to but not any more
It is a sad decline. Fingers crossed for investment.
Skyforce was up and running today 26th July. Apparently they managed to source the part
Oh really? Excellent news. I thought it was strange that the tarp had been removed from the ride vehicle.

We investigated in the car park and the signs are up but not open

All roads lead to Flambards ❤
Have you done a video in the museum and the indoor street area?

GOODNESS
Indeed. Really hope it picks up.
I love flambards and to see that there struggling is sad to see i hope they invest in the park and get some rides for all ages because its the only place teenagers can go to have some fun
We have pizza on Friday night. It tastes so much better the following morning.
Sky force looks promising thst it could be coming back as the tarp is off or it’s there Getting ready to get ready to remove it
It will be houses built on it
It will go the same way as merlin magic land at St earth houses end off
Have you been to diaryland you will love it
Did you hear that the skyforce has been reopened
I did hear that, yes. Hopefully in the next few weeks we’ll pop back and check. 👍🏻
@@theBriceSide that episode will be so cool to see can't wait
When you go flambards to investigate go on a Saturday or Sunday because we think the skyforce is open only on those days

Awful to see. That’s why we wanted to get this video out there. Hopefully people will pay it a visit. Still great for younger kids.

Yes, the Victorian Village is still there along with Britain in the Blitz. Two fantastic reasons to still visit Flambards.
