- There are many half dollars that are worth a lot of money, but this one probably takes the cake in terms of the most valuable half dollar floating around for the valuable modern half dollars - whether it's a Kennedy Half, Walking Liberty Half, or Franklin Half. This coin is one of a very limited run, as the true amount is unknown to collectors but very small. The coin may turn up in your pocket change or in a collection, and there is a very telling sign found on the coin that can confirm whether or not you have it. Look out for this one in your change - if you find this half dollar in pocket change worth big money, you could come away with immense riches. The coin is probably worth at least twenty thousand dollars, and very well could be worth more as people seek to get full sets of the half dollar series. Look out for rare coins and rare half dollars in your pocket change - you never know what you'll get!

Sean at blue ridge siverhound explains the shamfered edge as beveled on the normal ones ,snd the sms are blocky and square. Check your coins for that first.

Hey Christian, I need some advice...
I have one of these coins, it has all three major die Mark's on obverse and reverse but I don't know how to go about getting it graded, and PCGS is the only one I would send it too but the whole process of submitting a coin is soooooo confusing to me, if you was willing to help me with this I would give you a good tip after it sells and the money is in my account. thanks in advance,

I think that all coin experts on you tube etc should follow Sean blue ridge silver hounds description of this coin . He explains that there are ( no ) shamfered edges on the side of the rim edge leaning in towards the reeded edge , and instead it is square to the rim when looking at the coin standing end on . If your not square your not there !

If it has the crosslet 4 when examined closely and looks satiny / has different lettering, post some photos in an online coin forum and see what they think! Or go to a trusted coin dealer.

You missed the biggest feature There’s two of them the street G on the back of the coin and the stars on the right side of the eagle The lines do not go through the stars the biggest telltale sign of that queen.

With this specific coin, it's extra difficult to tell over photos as the photos I've seen of the error coin are all online, and the regular vs. rare coin is pretty similar. Still, shoot me an email!
My information is that Adams had the coins made early to be part of the 1964 New York Worlds Fair. The unused coins were kept in her collection until her passing in the early ninties. Have you ever seen one of these Worlds Fair Kennedys? Could there be a connection between these coins and the SMS Kennedy?
That definitely could be true.. there's limited info (from mintage to use to everything) and I think you might be right. Have not seen a World's Fair Kennedy.

Hi John. It's very difficult to see with the naked ear, but the crosslit is on the 4.

Make sure it's the Adams strike Greg... otherwise it's silver value. The distinction is very minuscule, but important. Does it have the crosslet on the 4 and crisper striking? I can't really tell well through phone photos, but I'd judge for yourself!

Awesome! There are regular proof coins, though, that are worth $10ish. This is a special strike that appears satiny and has extra-sharp features (including the crosslet on the 4).

For sure. However, I really can't tell very well as they look pretty similar and have never seen one in person - just wanted to let as many people as possible know. Check for the markers.

Hey Holly. This is a tough one to discern - I tried my best but it's difficult. The strike will be noticeably different (it's tough to describe - it'll be more 'sharp', 'satiny', and have slightly different lettering). Sorry I couldn't help more.
