As someone who’s been to the Rays stadium. The A’s have a better stadium lol. The Rays aren’t even in Tampa. They are about 30-40 mins away. If they just built the stadium in Tampa the attendance would improve a lot. Not to mention a nicer stadium.

Ok, for the selling other teams merch part. It’s part of a charity auction that is run by the Ted Williams Museum. I used to work for the auction at all the Rays games. All the money goes to charity and the Rays don’t have a say in what merch is put out. Hope this clears the air because this isn’t being sold in the team store or anything.😀
As a born and raised Floridian, let me just say on a hot and humid day in Florida, nothing better than walking into the cool AC of the Trop! Nothing I hate worse than sitting in a hot cramped seat trying to enjoy a game while sweating my ass off.
This was the first Major League stadium I ever went to when I was 12. Having nothing to compare it to, I thought it was the coolest baseball stadium ever. It still holds a special place in my heart because of that, even though I now know how much it kinda sucks.

It feels like home to me in a odd way and I’m afraid if the Rays played elsewhere it wouldn’t hold the same essence to it.
I totally understand and agree with people who think the Tropicana Field is ugly. That being said, it is one of the most comfortable baseball stadiums to sit in for me because it’s covered and has AC under the dome. Nobody wants to be in the stands when it’s 105° out in Florida.
