That was really impressive. You held your own against a quite good player when you're just starting out. We don't get to see APM like this in BAR very often and it's mesmerizing to watch. Once you really learn the game you're going to CRUSH the (very modest) BAR competitive scene.
There needs to be more game in the tournaments ... then it will happen on its own. Right now there is no way anyone could make an actual living playing this game... :)
Hello @uthermal, its Flaka here. Idk if u read comments but i write anyway. I have watched some of your games and there are 2 things that imo holding u back. You miss the right moment to invest into adv solars and u hold on too long on t1. Here at this match u build converters which is on solar maps almost a no go. If u overflow e, build e storage and than start adding nanos and adv solars instead.
Why should he not build converters on a solar map? Seems decent if you need more metal and are floating energy? Wouldn't nanos just make the lack of metal more apparent?
@@StraightCrossing I think because usually solar maps have a large amount of mexes you can claim for all the metal you need. It does depend on the map, but usually in 1v1 or small team games there is plenty of metal just on the map. I am only a mid BAR player, but I think building extra workers and even just trying to claim all the mexes on maps like this one is worth it. Some may die yes, but enough will live to get pretty good value, especially if you also spam static defense as you expand.
@@bucketofnubbins8532 yeah I suppose that makes sense. I’m kinda used to 8v8 where you take what you can get. Then further scaling comes from converters. But small team games seem much different in that regard.
Welcome to BAR! Sheesh, your multi-tasking and micro is insane. Once you get the hang of macroing eco and getting tech timings, you'll be unstoppable! Btw I notice you mention it in your previous BAR vid. Only one metal extractor can pull metal from a deposit. Any ones built after the first one won't generate any metal. If you hover over each of them you'll see that one pulls in the amount advertised on the deposit and the other shows +0.0.
When you have a bunch of units selected, and you drag like around a mountain to get the units to take a different path, that's not how that works. You're drawing a formation -- so all the units will still just take the shortest path to their position in the formation you drew -- even if that's straight through all the enemy static defenses. To get what you want, hold shift and set way points to specify the path they should travel.
I don't know if you know this yet or not but you can create auto groups in this which will automatically add units created to the set group. you need to have a unit/units selected and hold alt and press desired number, but its so useful I highly recommend giving it a shot its game changing. another thing I love to use is blueprints but they can be tedious at times when terrain is funky.
If your teammate sustains heavy losses, you can share constructors, buildpower in your base with him/her, help them to rebuild quickly, share a metal storage, an energy storage, and they can get back to t2 in 3-4 minutes, support you with eco instead of just watching. Just select the units you want to share, and click the 'tabulator' icon next to theyr name on the scoreboard. Looking forward to see more BAR from you guys, thank you for the content!
Omg I love your videos. I know the appeal of armada wind and afk energy macro by just building a million winds, but solar macro isn't that hard lol. Advanced solar are much better than basic, you are going to have a hard time getting to t2 on no wind maps without them.
First time I've like watching a BAR game, maybe 2v2 is the way to go or I just needed to get more used to what is going on. Still a newb whose never played it.
"if I would have had a teammate that would have been sick" 😂😅😂

BAR is the best RTS out there.
There's nothing more I'd want to see as entertainment than the Starcraft (2) Koreans getting into BAR.
saaaaaaaame!!
It will happen when stormgate turns out to be dissapointment and some stormgate/zerospace players point them toward BAR.
@@multicrogamer I'm keeping an eye on Planetary Annihilation and Sanctuary: Shattered Sun.

exactly, and reclaim basic solar eventually

I'm glad more people are getting into this game
Thermy tells him 10 times to attack his guy and the dude still goes for the wrong one.
So entertaining, stoked to see this - I'm getting into BAR but it ain't easy haha
Eyy uThermal on more BAR, and now with a team mate that may back you up so you can leverage your micro, gl hf!
That d gun spam at about 19.15 was beautiful! All that practice lining up hellion shots clearly paying dividends :)
Yay! More BAR! Glad to see you getting into the multiplayer too :)
Your micro is so good that a few solid T2 units would really help you early. Play to your strengths. This was a fun match to watch!
Wow! What a hold! I thought you where dead from minute 5!
I'm glad you're getting into BAR. I really feel like its one of the best RTS's out there.
You gotta be scaling your economy in the background. With your APM, you ought to be able to pull it off. Try to get to T2 in a game soon.

Can also use ctrl+click for formation move, alt+click to get into formation/change facing. The movement/selection options in BAR are crazy.

None of the other RTS hit like BAR.
Nice game.Love the banter between the two of you :P
Every time I see Uthermal play I wish he'd repair all those near dead units for once. That would give him so much additional power, I feel =)
Bar is bae
These were some nice DGuns! Great game in general, thanks! :)
Awesome game.
Just need to always add more economy, advanced solars and Tier2 when you have a large reclaim field
BAR 🤖❤

the chevron gap in the first game is kinda crazy
This was super entertaining, even though you lost, but then again it was the OG of Bar!
*You had no idea what was headed your way at the end, god dam i wish you saw it xD.
Very good game. You just need to scale/transition to T2 and you'll break this thing wide open!
Sounds like you're playing with yourself in your team
more of this
eyyy team games finally!
use the commander and move it to front line instead of building backline mex
You're wasting so much metal on the basic solar. Switch to advanced asap.
This is good 😌
What is a tick's favorite kind of pie?

Grunts are not good they are amazing
first and last game
Don't let it end this way.
Your teammate is so insecure. If you are bad just own it. Hard to listen to.

5v5, 6v6, and 8v8 are where this game shines. Such crazy strategy and coordination.
