Thank you very much for this video. My escalade was doing this exact thing. Took off the shocks, tested them as you did, replaced the bad one, fixed problem. I was sure that it was a electric problem till I found this video. Thanks again!
Been looking for this video for a Min! I believe My Shocks went out too I wont know till i replace the black part that Automatically opens the Lift-gate By the handle that failed on me too... So i hope Everything works out :) on my 07 Yukon Denali XL
Anyone had the problem where the tailgate won't even open? I've checked the round ceiling knob (on, 1/2, 3/4), fuses, etc. How can I manually open the hatch?

That’s what mine is doing. I check the window shocks they are bad so I figure the same goes for the big door. But it stop but I think is the shocks
My suburban has the same issue except when it's in manual mode the liftgate stays up on its own. Would that still be the shocks?
