I grew up on Long Island but my parents were from Brooklyn so I sound like I'm from Brooklyn. OMG calling an Italian Hero a Grinder or a Hoagie is hilarious

Ive been in Tampa Bay 29 years and still sound Brooklyn. ya'll was never allowed in my home..I told my kids yuz guyz :)
I have this pet theory that after ww2 they moved a few thousand young widows and their young kids to the 9th Ward in New Orleans in the hope of a sunnier happier life. That would explain why to this day that particular hood sounds so different to the rest of the city 😊
