2stroke mx classics no worries. Iv got a electric start engine im trying to restore using your videos. I can understand the way you explain it. I literally can’t go wrong 👌
Thanks so much for that comment m8 cos that's my aim to do is give all the details in my vids and no bull or talking ages so they haven't been time wasted watching with some parts missing, good luck with your dtre I'm on doing one myself too if you need any help give me a message👍
2stroke mx classics nice one no prob mate I find it hard to understand on most stuff you know how to explain it. I had a nice black 2005 supermoto dtre last year but someone nicked it I was proper gutted still am and that’s why I’m doing this engine because it’s from when I had my bike as a spare
Hi m8 the pilot will have been a 22.5. only the dtre takes a difo size 17.5 pilot. the main will have been either a 240 or a 210 and the needle clip will have been on the 4th clip it was all standard settings.
Piston slap like a sob at the beginning but it sounded damn good at the end, if it wasn't so cold here right now I would have my 200r running, I don't have a heated garage
Yeah a know bro lucky it didn't snap rings he told me it had the right piston, same here it's snowin I've been needing to get my dt fixed for a few weeks but to wet an cold, how far are you on with yours now
Check powervalve cables are on right m8 there's a long and short one the may have got muddled, best way to check if powervalve related is disconnect servo and open valve to full and see how it runs
Hi It depends tbh ebay have some parts, fowlers UK sell many new parts. some parts are rare for your 2000 (wiring harness, cdi unit, left switches, plastics)which aren't made now but there's a couple of Chinese places that sell parts and there's a place in Portugal that does OK plastics, I have them on my white one on here apart from the rad shrouds as there a difrent shape too the originals. Bikerpartsshop is one and Ali express is another hope this helps
@@2strokemxclassics thanks man , that will help no doubt, im having a custom harness made this week as the orginal is a nightmare on it couldnt find a good one anywhere
No probs the panels on them sites are OK so are the chain guards and handguards yeah m8 they hard to find I keep a working loom back then if I get a cut plug one I can copy off it, was your old loom missing plugs or just not working
@@2strokemxclassics the loom is working but its just a mess , indicators need fixing cant find the wires for them although they are there somewhere, lights work, rear brake light works, just enough to be safe , its a mess everything just taped up etc, also what are your opinions on pinning open the power valve?
I'm on insta m8 if your on there send is some pics, a like them better pinned I've had them like that since 1991 tho so am used to them pinned. I like the powerband to kick in, there's a test drive vid av got on the ellecy start ya can see the acceleration, it's just personal choice some say pinned better some say working is better but the thing with working ones wen you give it some hammer the valve opens but then when u let off the revs the valve rotates back towards the piston, say u got a 57.5 piston in on a normal powervalve when that bore wears down the powervalve will be able to clip the piston, say your in 6th gear wide open the valve will be fully open missing the piston, wen u let off an the bore finally wears that powervalve can rotate back and hit the piston
Hi thanks for watching, the Piston was to small he bought the wrong size and whacked it in, this was causing the slap, I'm sure he put a 56mm piston into a bore need in a 57mm piston. the powervalve wen bikes start moving spins the correct way av had a few that spin differently but all work the same wen moving👌
@@2strokemxclassics Ok thanks, appreciate your reply, my power valve is acting some what erratic at idle, jumps around a bit, got me a bit stumped, keep up the good work, cheers mate
No probs m8 I've had them with powervalves that lock and only go one way and then wen cables are took off the servo motor just spins constantly wen turn key and its been the cdi on 97-2003 bikes, might be cdi related if not the servo motor m8
What year is it 88 to 97 std piston are 56.4 whivh would take yours upto 57.90 like the white dtr if its a 3mboo it will be 56 std so would take it to 57.5mm m8

@@2strokemxclassics do them Chinese clocks fit ok or are they smaller or are their any differences i mean m8. just waiting on a new crankshaft to get delivered myself iam gunner use the one i built up for the other engine from them cases i bought
Hi m8 yeah the brackets are the same as dtr top yokes width, maybes with all the wires joined they'd fit dtr but with no rev counter, be handy for someone building a dtr what cant find clocks av described them in part 4 m8 cos someone else asked about them there werth spending 16 kwid just for the cases off the speedo, the square smaller case fits str8 onto dtre brackets too, sounds good m8 are ya putting new one with crank rebuilt into the cases and fitting to yours, what are they charging for crank rebuild and to have it trued m8

is the kindof quiet rattling at 19:58 bad ? I have that too and don´t know what it is. maybe someone can help me out by saying what is causing it ?
Hi It's normal to sound like that, the phone make the sounds seem louder an diffrent, 19:58 is OK, hes still riding it now
Got same issue works on cycle gets to 8 k then flat then will suddenly work
Was all fine b4 full rebuild

classics haven't removed cables was working fine got bottom end done by a local bike builder tzr dt 2 stroke bloke always top notch work
Its weird
Yeah not to sure what would cause that if only the bottom ends been done
