It’s 2023 and still there isn’t a single live show that can ever match the scale of this incredible experience. One of my favorite childhood memories was seeing this at the Staples Center with my family back in 2010. Years have passed and this documentation still shows how big of a spectacle this show was and how many memories it made around the world. Someday I hope this show comes back in a new form that adds newer dinosaurs alongside more innovative effects that made this show amazing to watch to begin with.
Totally agree, my friend. I could say that not even the Jurassic World Live experience has gotten THIS close. The movements here are so fluid and truly make you feel like they're alive.
@@antoine6760 Such a shame to hear that.. At least you’ve got this to video to enjoy! And hopefully you get a chance to see something similar in the future.
I remember going to this show. I was (and still am) captivated by the stories the narrator told and awed by the dinosaurs, even if they were puppets. Thank you for this chance to experience my childhood again.
Now it's 2023, i am 23 and i am going to university. Back in 2010, or 2011, i don't remember, i attended this show in Milan when I was a child and as a dinosaur lover since I was little it was one of the most beautiful and unforgettable experiences of my life! Amazing!
I first saw Walking with Dinosaurs in Portland, Oregon in 2008. I was so excited to go, but I was so blown away by the show. It was such an amazing experience and it's the most memorable show I have ever seen. Not only was it well written, arranged, and presented, but it was so life-like. The arena shook with these monsterous recreations of and brought the story of their existence to life right in front of us. I loved how T-Rex's head got right up close and personal with the crowds to roar in our faces [and showed off it's somewhat foul-smelling humid breath]...not to mention a deft swipe or two of it's tail. I can only imagine how creators of the future will improve on the experiences of this kind of live recreation of natural history. Thank you so much for sharing this.
BBC Better release their own version of this for home media with Quality sound and everything. This is Just Too Good to be suddenly lost to time. Ya know?
1:11:06 despite being animatronics, it definitely was a nice thing to see and I remember seeing this live and hearing the whole audience’s hearts melting
I was 7 years old when I first saw the live experience back in 2008, I still remember seeing pretty much every moment of that show. I have always wanted to watch it again but was never able to. Thank you for uploading this so I can feel like I am 8 years old again.
I’m 22 years old, and I remember my dad taking me to see this when I was a kid, I was 9 years old at the time and I remember that it was a surprise for me. The show was in Pennsylvania and, oddly, I remember a skinny white man running right past us wearing nothing but underwear and shoes as me and my dad were heading to the arena where the event was taking place, I remember getting a couple things there, one of them is a Torosaurus plushie that I surprisingly still have, it’s on the top shelf in my room
I dunno, elephants are mostly aggressive towards most animals. It makes sense if they were aggressive like elephants though, most large herbivorous animals know that they can throw their weight around and not be hurt. Certainly would’ve changed the tone of the beginning of Jurassic park though lmao
I agree they should have a one for walking with beasts and monsters they are just as good as dinosaurs in their own way, heck back then I’m surprised they didn’t made a movie for walking with beasts when the 3d dinosaur movie came out
My cockatiel died a couple years ago. I used to watch this exact video alongside him, and I'd often get emotional once it got to the end, since it's a reminder that hey, I was walking with a dinosaur of my own. Now that he's gone, I do still come back here every now and then, and the ending still gets me to tear up, but for different reasons. When that last song really gets going, and the young T.rex starts to roar alongside it, it feels to me like everything came full circle. My bird went to meet his ancestors, and I'm sure they welcomed him with open wings. The wonder of dinosaurs is timeless, and I'm glad this video exists for those of us who live where the show never came. I can only imagine how majestic the whole thing must've been live, but as long as this is here, I can still feel it.
I'm kind of disappointed they didn't include the Liopleurodon, it would have been awesome to see an animatronic suspended from the ceiling as if it was swimming through the ocean... (then again, it may have been too costly to pull off so yeah) :(
I actually asked them about doing something like that with the Lio when I went to go see the show in person, the reason they haven’t yet is combination of costs and the animatronic being way to heavy to suspended from the ceiling, the Pterosaur in this show is already pushing.
I am sad that this show ended back in 2019, I really wanted to watch it again but I can only do that thanks to this video. However this does leave the possibility of a Walking with Beasts show if they ever decide to do it.
I originally saw Walking with Dinosaurs with my grandparents in 2010 (I believe) when the show played in Indianapolis at the theater there. I think it was tied to a new fossil exhibit they were unveiling at the Children's Museum, and I loved it to bits. Seeing how big these creature must've been was like nothing I ever imagined before. I was sad to learn the show played its last time back in 2019, but thank you so much for posting the show here. You really sparked my childhood Dino-lover side again.
Lindsay, thank you so much for posting this. I was 25 when I decided to take myself to see this and had awesome footage on my iPhone.... then my purse got stolen at work years later and that phone was in it 😢 NOW I CAN WATCH IT AGAIN THANKS TO YOU!!!! 😍😍😍
It was my pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it. 😊 It would’ve been sooo amazing to see it back it 2009. The show had “evolved” so much since its debut in 2007. They made it look so incredible and even improved a show that was already amazing!
I'm just finding this video after telling my youngest how I took his brother when he was little. This was a great addition to our conversation this morning. I was telling my youngest how real they looked and how close they were to the audience. The long neck dinosaur 🦕 was so close to us in the stands that I saw the moisture in the corner of his eye. Amazing! I wish they would bring it back so I could take my 9 yr old.
WOW! what magnificent show, well created. Really enjoyed watching, One thing? the Dinosaurs do not run amok like the movie, thank goodness. Thanks for uploading, a moment in time with the Dinosaurs.
I remember when a friend once told me that he saw the show in my hometown of Auckland in New Zealand. Can't remember when but he said that he was completely spellbound. Having seen this video, I can now understand why.
I went to see this show twice, but I can barely remember anything other than that it was the greatest thing I ever experienced. I was so disappointed to find out the show stopped performing. Thank you for uploading the video and not only bringing back my fondest memories but also allowing me to experience it as much as I want to. I hope that the BBC will someday film the show and release it as a DVD or something. It's so sad that these videos are the only thing we have left of the single best live show ever created.
A belated thx for this. I just stumbled across it while trying to scratch the dinosaur itch with some good documentary. Discovering that there's still nothing remotely similar to the walking with dinosaurs series and this show that came from it. I feel lucky to have been able see this show twice. The original back when they just started and again when the partially feathered rexes came round ;) Both times were massively enjoyable, there's just no better way to transport yourself back in time then watching full sized moving Dinosaurs.
My pleasure! I had always wanted to re-watch it too! And it was sad to hear the dinos had retired in 2019... There wasn't really anything on RUclips to watch the whole, uncut thing. So that's why I put together this! Now people like you and I can enjoy it again. :)
I actually got to see this show when I was around 7 or 8? I got to sit in the second row and it was so cool seeing the dinosaurs come to life, it wqs the best birthday/father's day gift ever.

Well thank god they had the sense to take him out of the show. Parents today would have just kept letting their kid disturb the audience and make the kid the audience’s problem smh

I have literally been hoping to see it return, and Now I have a 6yr old daughter who LOVES dinosaurs, and have been hoping to see it return. Sad...
I wanted to go when they were in Germany but my wife did not want to come with me and I did not dare to go alone. Most of the time, the things I regret are not the things I've done, but the things I have not done.
After finally seeing the Jurassic World Live Tour at the Heritage Bank Center (formerly known as the US Bank Arena) in Cincinnati, Ohio on Saturday, October 15, 2022, I wish the animatronic Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Tyrannosaurus Rex and Indominus Rex and the suits of Blue the Velociraptor, Jeannie the Troodon and the baby stegosaurus had been built and made to look and move like the more realistic dinosaurs and suits that were built and made for Walking with Dinosaurs - The Arena Spectacular, and I also wish an animatronic Brachiosaurus had been included for the Jurassic World Live Tour as well as a center stage landscape of hills with palm trees.
